Last night was my first Elite Event here in Dublin, and it was lovely.
Seeing that it was going to be a secret location on the invite had me worried, and that riddle had me stumped, but the venue was fantastic. Veginity is the kind of hidden gem I love finding on Yelp. And while it's a bit hidden it certainly isn't impossible to find. I mean if I, a directionally-challenged foreigner (I just moved here a month ago from Canada) with no familiarity with this area of Dublin could find it, then anyone can. The big V sign in the alley helped too.
The night started with self serve Kinsale Pale Ale on tap, which was delicious. Then we got to try some of the delicious fare from Veginity. The owners/chefs/creators were friendly, and clearly passionate about the food they create, which is awesome. The food was delicious as well. I really loved the soft tacos, which had a nice kick to them, but the standout (for me at least) was that chocolate gelato. It was so creamy and delicious, but of course dairy-free.
The entertainment was fantastic. Hula girls (with light up hula hoops..wish those were around when I was a kid) were there outside when the event first got underway. Later on we were told some fantastic stories that were hilarious.
This was a fun, casual, low-key event and was a great introduction for me into the Yelp Dublin community. Looking forward to the next event and meeting more fellow Yelpers. read more
