It took a long time to both seek and to find someone I trust with regards to competency and ethics. Enter Dayton Dental. One visit told me I'd found a home. They were patient and understanding with regards to my teeth and my issues with prior practitioners. I felt welcome, not judged, pressured, or hurried. Their advice was on point. The dental assistants impressed me with their knowledge, too. Even better? Not a word of upselling. In addition, their rate for the extraction I need was over $100 less than another practice I visited. Small practices often lack the flashy tech of larger or private equity-owned profit centers. However, smaller practices often feature dentists who have the time and flexibility to ensure personalized care at a reasonable price and build a solid patient-provider relationship over time. l go with that. At the time, I was in the process of moving back to California and couldn't schedule the follow ups, and thank god for that because it would have been a waste of money. After my appointment at the new office here in CA, I was told that 2 of the recommended fillings from Aurora Village's medical files were never necessary and were actually just stains on the tooth. The third was actually damage on the side of my tooth from one of the other cleanings/fillings that I did have done at Aurora Village. Makes me wonder if any of the VERY expensive procedures I got from them were ever necessary. Is it fraud if you prescribe unnecessary services to a patient? Either way I don't recommend this practice for your dental needs simply on the basis of trusting the providers to recommend necessary or even correct treatments.
