"I highly recommend this office to everyone , I was in desperate need to find a good dentist office that would extract my infected tooth that was causing so many problems for me. I had a root canal years ago at a different dentist office and my cap had falling off less than a year of getting it. After being so discouraged I chose to ignore going to the dentist and just been dealing with my dead tooth that was left from the root canal. I recently had to go to the emergency room because it became infected and the pain was unbearable!!!. I went to the emergency room on a Sunday evening for pain management and they said I needed to get to a dentist asap to get this issue taken care of asap. After calling a bunch of dentists offices I had came across elite dental and they got me in the very next day with no hesitation!!!I was in and out less than 30 minutes and I had nothing but a wonderful experience with both the dentist assistant and the dr himself , front end staff was very pleasant too. I'm Excited to say this will always be my first choice for a dentist office and happy to finally find a dentist office that I can say I won't ever hesitate to go back and get my regular checkups.. very happy customer!!! 5 stars all the way" read more

My wife and I have been coming here since 2018. The dental office is clean. The lobby for some reason gives you this calming effect, and the receptionists are very nice and professional. I had my cleaning done here many times, and tooth extractions a couple of times, and they did a great job. Dr. Nguyen specifically was quick & reassuring! He extracted my wisdom tooth in less than a minute after applying anesthesia. Would highly recommend. read more

Oh boy, how do I write this review without anger.... I moved to Cromwell two years ago from North Haven and switched my dental to Elite. I go every six months for cleanings and all was ok in that department. However, on the last checkup it was found that I have a small cavity that I need a filling for so I made a follow up appointment a couple of weeks later. I get several reminder texts from elite between appointments confirming the time I needed to be there. Took time off from work, and go to my appointment and as the doc is getting ready she looks at my records, which had this information from when I first started going, and says that since I'm on a blood thinner for a heart rhythm issue that she can't do the procedure without authorization from my doctor. She says I need to take a piece of paper to my doctor and have them sign off before they perform the procedure. It took me a minute to register that I had just gone to this appointment and they weren't going to do the filling. I asked them if they had this information prior to my appointment knowing full well they did and just wanted them to say it, to which they did. I asked why they wouldn't have reached out prior to my arrival so I could have had this done, and all they said was sorry. Well, I am going to find a new dentist as this was completely unacceptable. I also thought after that I am late or don't show up that they certainly would charge me for the inconvenience, and I agree with that. In fact, I think it should go both ways and I should be reimbursed for the 90 minutes of vacation time I had to take for their screwup. Unacceptable and deplorable. read more

I'm not sure why this place doesn't have more reviews but this is the first time I have went to a dentist office without having any sort of issue. I am usually not a fan of the dentists. I get scared, and there have been times I have left in the middle of an appointment (as in literally walked out mid procedure) because no one was respecting my mouth of the pain I was in. Elite Dental is NOT a place I would ever feel scared or worried. First of all, they take state insurance, which most places don't. I'm very happy with that. Secondly, everyone is friendly and nice. (Alexia is a wonderful receptionist. She is honestly a peach and a half. You rock). Everyone there makes you feel comfortable. Third, I was not in pain. AT ALL. not for a moment. Dr. James Nguyen is a friendly, professional dentist who cares to make sure you leave with happy, healthy teeth. The last time I was at a dentist was some place in Avon 2 years ago. They had claimed I had 14 cavities and wanted to charge me thousands of dollars for fillings. I did not have money so I wasn't going about to do that. Columbia Dental had also tried telling me I had cavities too and places like those, were trying to get money out of me any way they could. Saying I need a deep cleaning and other things (I swear to god I have really decent teeth. I do not have that many cavities.) Turns out, there are such things as microcavities: beginning, superficial stages of tooth decay that may/may not turn into an actual cavity. They do NOT necessarily need to be filled because if you take care of them, your teeth can get better and remineralize from fluoride. But once you drill and fill a tooth, the damage is done. You will probably have to get it refilled down the line. The point is I only had 1 cavity. I know this because Dr. Nguyen showed me it. This place is not after money. They really are just wonderful, honest people. You don't have to be in pain for a dentist to be doing a good job. I know he cleaned my teeth, and I promise there was not a second I felt pain. Even when he filled my cavity. I did not have novacaine, I did not need to be numbed. It was quick, he was precise, and it was over in a matter of minutes. I am so grateful. I love this place. My first visit was good, but the second was not. The doctor refused to look at a place that was painful, insisting I didn't have a cavity there. (I can feel it and it is painful.) He insisted on working on a side of my mouth where I wasn't feeling pain, saying I had a cavity there. Then he didn't put enough painkiller in. I had told him on my previous visit that I have a rare (and documented) health condition where I need more than usual amounts of painkiller to be effective. An hour later and the painkiller is almost gone. I can imagine how painful that filling would be. That he didn't listen to me was very disconcerting. It just wasn't a good fit. read more

I had my first appointment with Dr. Nguyen yesterday and he was wonderful. I usually get very nervous going to the dentist but I felt very safe and at ease at his office. The facility was extremely clean and welcoming, the receptionist was very sweet and helpful, and the assistant who took my x-rays was so kind, very well trained and extremely capable. Dr. Nguyen was very professional and obviously extremely adept at his job. I feel very fortunate to have found this dental practice and recommend it highly. read more

My family has been going to Dr. James Nguyen for years, since he started practicing in Wethersfield. Now that he has his second location here in Cromwell, we all agree that he totally deserves one! He has very light hands - you will never feel any pain. I once got a root canal and it was almost nothing. He is fantastic and his assistants and receptionists are always very friendly. That misconception where going to the dentist is uncomfortable and a bad experience doesn't exist with Dr. Nguyen! :) If you're not happy with him, you won't be happy with any other dentist.
