I've been using Elite Cleaners for 10 years now, and every time I've been there the service has been top notch! Each garment is returned to me cleaned, pressed, and on time. A few of his previous reviewers mentioned their clothes were returned with a strong chemical odor, but I've never noticed that in the years I've been taking my clothing there. Jorge, the owner, is a very nice guy who always takes the time to get to know his customers. Whenever I enter the store he smiles and asks how I'm doing, how my son is doing, etc. Elite Cleaners truly has a neighborhood-oriented vibe, and I like that. Of course, no review is a good review without a little balance, so here's my only setback with business: At times Jorge has a difficult time finding customer profiles on his computer, and it can take 1-2 minutes longer than it should. I've been taking my dry cleaning here for about 3 years now. Admittedly, I don't wear much that requires dry cleaning. A couple of suits, a sport coat, and a few shirts maybe once or twice a year. The dry cleaning has always been completed well and on time at a fair price. I am taking the time to 5star review Jorge today because he has made a few alterations for me and was great. I had kids swimsuit that needed to be fixed ASAP and he came through perfectly. He also replaced a broken zipper on my favorite hoodie sweatshirt at 1/3 of the price of a new replacement sweatshirt. I actually went into the shop and told the owner that drying clothes outside next to the garbage cans (no less) is DISGUSTING! After five minutes standing outside waiting for someone, the owner walks out and says to me, "what are you talking about, there are no clothes there." I LOL and said, "are you serious.... you just removed them and are coming out to tell me that? Guess what I have a photo of it." He then says, "Those were my wife's clothes." OMG..... Had 2 work vests dry cleaned here as well as 1 dress. All items look completely new and were done on time, I'm very impressed. I was charged far less for my dress than other places, it was only $10. The price was right. Unfortunately, all of my clothes and my husband's slacks had an interesting smell. Not a typical dry cleaning smell, more woodsy, spicy, fragrant. Definitely not a fan. I don't like scents and especially not this one. I aired out everything for a few weeks and the smell remains. I am hoping another dry cleaner can fix the problem. I did not have a good experience for several reasons: 1. I was told to pick up my clothes on Saturday at 10:00. I came at 12:30, and they were not done. 2. He then gave me someone else's clothes. My husband had to go in the store and pick out his clothes. 3. After seeing my total on the screen, he asked for a different amount. When I questioned it, he made it seem like it was a mistake. Wow, used to live in Castro Valley, had a great Cleaners there for 14 years, one of the few things I missed when I moved back to the Northwest. Came to town last week for a 12 week consulting job, needed a cleaners, looked on Yelp, and I found this place. Walked in, it is my Cleaner from Castro Valley!!! He bought this place. For anyone that is so so about their cleaners, or like me needed one for the short term, you cannot go wrong. Great service, reasonable prices, very accommodating, and did I mention GREAT service! If YELP gave us one 10 star award to use for our best service category I would use mine here, then log in on my wife's YELP and use hers. These guys will earn, and keep, your business. I took my clothes to George at Elite Cleaners after I wore them to a wedding. I didn't realize my pants had a couple stains on them. George called me and let me know. He said he would try to clean them and if the stains didn't come out, he wouldn't charge me. The next day the clothes were ready and the stains were gone. The best part, it was only $7.95. Had a need for overnight dry-cleaning. I called 4+ cleaners and all said no. Elite Cleaners not only said yes but Jorge said he would stay open until 8 or 9 pm (they close at 7 PM) so I could get there late after work. Picked up the following day, same time with shirts and pants looking great. Fair pricing. They may not be the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Their service and commitment is outstanding. I've never taken stuff to the dry cleaners so I can't compare it to anything. Service was good. I thought it was pricey what he wanted for my bedspread, but maybe it's alwAys that much? He registered me and said it would be ready Friday or Saturday. I had him clarify and he agreed to Friday, by the time I get off at 3, but when I called he said for sure Saturday but not Friday. I was a bit upset cause now I'd have to make an out of the way trip on Saturday. I called Saturday and it was ready and I said I was coming. They're open til 5 & it was 4. When I got there it was closed looking and said "sorry closed at 4:30", but it was 4:20, so I tried the door and it was locked! But the he came running up and had all my stuff ready. Keeping me satisfied as a dry cleaning service isn't tough. Clean the spots off my clothes, have my clothes ready when I come to pick them up, charge me the advertised price and don't get my clothes mixed up with someone else. This dry cleaners failed on all of these accounts - plus they made my clothes smell funny. 1. My clothes were not ready when promised. 2. There was still spots on my pants when I picked them up. 3. My clothes now have a weird fragrance. 4. He tried to overcharge us. 5. He gave me someone else's clothes. We won't be going back. How could ALL of this go wrong on our FIRST visit? read more

I found the place on yelp and gave it a try because there was a deal going on. The owner was so friendly and the price was very reasonable. My clothes came out very nicely however, some of my winter coats had that "dry cleaning" smell that just did not go away. Maybe I am just a noob to the dry cleaning world and this is how they're supposed to smell, but the smell did not leave my wool coats even after trying to leave them out in the air for a few days. I dropped off a dress for a simply cleaning. I brought it home and didn't pay any mind to it. However, I noticed an odd smell near my dress I had just picked up. I investigated the smell and found that my dress now smells horrible of a burnt rubber...dusty something. absolutely horrible smell. I've had this dress cleaned at multiple dry cleaners and this is the first time this has happened. The only way I'll ever go back to this place is to get a refund so I can get my dress cleaned AGAIN somewhere else. read more

I found Elite Cleaners on Yelp and saw that they had 4 1/2 stars so I decided to try it because they were close to my work... how bad could it be? I took about 10 pieces of clothing to be dry cleaned ranging from sweaters to dresses. It cost me $68 and when I got them home and put on one of the shirts I had cleaned I noticed a smell. The smell I was noticing was an awful smell that reminded me of body odor. Every single piece of clothing smells so bad of body odor they are completely unwearable. I can't imagine what they could be using there to clean clothes that could smell so strong and disgusting. I also had to spend at least 30 minutes of my time trying to repair a sweater I took there that came back to me with a bunch of the stiching stretched out of the sweater or snagged. I tried to air out all the clothing outside to see if maybe the smell would go away but after a day outside and almost a full bottle of Febreze the smell was still there! I had to resort to hand washing it all myself just to get the smell out. What a waste of Money! I would never recommend this dry cleaners. read more

I was relieved to find this gem in Pleasanton where I could get dry cleaning and alterations at a reasonable price. I took my clothes to another dry cleaner in Dublin and was horrified that they couldn't treat a simple stain. Luckily, this dry cleaner had the right solutions to get the stain out and my items looking new. They were so good, I even let them clean my comforter which was as plush as the day I bought it. tldr; expensive, will lose your clothes and maybe find them, won't even clean them right and will leave a weird smell. 2/10 wouldn't go back. Absolute nightmare - I came to Elite Cleaners because my old place shut down and the Yelp reviews raved about the price, attention to detail and incredible owner. I found none of those things. First off, pricing is far higher than other places in the area ($2.50 per shirt vs $1-$1.50). I dropped off 4 shirts, 1 suit, and 1 wool bomber. A friend picked up the order, and received my suit and bomber, but the owner insisted there were no shirts. After arguing, the owner gave him 4 shirts. But the 4 shirts... weren't mine. I went back to elite cleaners today (because they close before I come home from work on weekdays) and the owner lugubriously debated whether the shirts (which were clearly 2 sizes too big) were mine or not, and then looked through his shop to find my actual shirts with the utmost nonchalance. Thankfully, we found them, but the response - "it happens, maybe you can get a discount next time you come" - isn't what I would expect. The kicker is that my clothes weren't even clean - the stains on my shirts were mildly reduced if at all, my wool bomber was covered in lint, and all of my clothes smelled weird.
