Come here if you'd like to be micromanaged and bothered by the workers every five minutes!…read more Okay I'm officially done coming here. It was decent but the workers here are absolute busy bodies and extremely overbearing. Husband and I have been coming for about the last three months as our washer broke and our landlord hasn't replaced it yet. However, today's the final straw. Incident One: About a month into using Ducky wash, my husband and I put our clothes in the wash and drove to target to buy a new clothes basket (20mins tops). We got back with 3 minutes still left on our timer and the older woman tried reprimanding us for "leaving our clothes." They weren't left, they were still going through their cycle? Incident Two: Then about three weeks ago, I pulled up on a busy Tuesday with a big load of laundry. One of the $9 machines had just finished a self-cleaning cycle so I went to put my load into the machine and the old woman worker told me she was about to use that machine so I couldn't. She was also using the two other $9 machines that were working! I told her I just wanted to use one of the three and she told me she "was doing an express order and needed all the machines because a man was paying her to have his bedding washed asap." Ma'am... I am ALSO paying?? It was a busy day and all the other machines that took Dexter Pay were taken so I had to wait for two $6 machines to open up, split my load and pay more. Third Incident: Today was the third strike for Ducky Wash & Dry. I put in my load. Great. It's a slow day, maybe two other people in the laundromat, 4 total cars in the parking lot. I wait in my car for my load to wash and go in to switch it from washer to drier. I get the clothes into the dryer and as I'm walking out, the grey haired worker stops me and tells me I need to move my car from where I'm parked because that's a loading parking spot... Ma'am, there are 4 total cars in the parking, you can load anywhere!! You do not own the parking lot, where I park is none of your business, worry about what's happening inside the laundromat. Which isn't a whole lot considering most of the machines are broken every time I come here. So if you enjoy being harassed by boomers, come to Ducky Wash! They have nothing else to do besides bother you and police everything you do!

Luckily it didn't get on my clothes and I found it before drying. Washers range from $7-$12 dryers are $0.25 per every 5 minutes or so. I attempted to use two dryers paid money and they went out on me. Luckily the attendant was still there and was able to grab some quarters and paid for me to basically change dryers. So no money lost and no hassle.

Unfortunately, I have not had a great experience with these folks after a year of trying. Here's…read morewhy: 1. Their prices are very high, and they upcharge designer items simply because they are designer items - which they claim is necessary because of the "special care" required. They charged me $47.50 to dry clean a Versace silk sweater but the label simply said "dry clean only." No special methods, no extravagant fabric, no special trim. 2. They have ruined several pieces: two wool sweaters were shrunk beyond wear, and they recently managed to unstitch the crew neckline of a cotton sweater, which I can no longer wear. 3. I gave them a wool zip-front sweater with leather zipper tabs and when I went to pick it up, both leather tabs were missing. It took one month for them to replace the tabs and get it back to me. 4. Their cleaning is hit or miss. I have sent back simple cotton tops with simple stains that they marked unable to clean and - miraculously! - they were able to get the stain out the second time. 5. Their pricing is hit or miss. When I questioned a price, they would double check and suddenly realize they overcharged me. This happened at least 5 times. I sent an email explaining why they lost my business a few weeks ago and did not get a response. They clearly don't care about their customers or their business. I gave them one star because they do offer a member discount.

We did do some research to find a nice clean location and this one had solid reviews so we gave it a try. Right across from Safeway and BWP in downtown Walnut Creek, parking IS metered but there's plenty of it near the entrance which is key when loading and unloading. I have (literally) years worth of laundry that I've been waiting to do because my machines at home are too small. Duvets, comforters, blankets and towels galore. I couldn't take them living in trash bags anymore so we finally took them here to wash and dry. Yes, its expensive. We used the largest machines- 80lb machines- and it was $17 a wash load. Good news is, drying is only $1.50 each 16 minute cycle. But the peace of mind finally getting these items washed and in a clean establishment is most important. The staff member was super friendly and was seen cleaning them entire time we were there, probably a couple hours. $17 a cycle feels high, but if that's your one load for the week for 80lbs of laundry is sufficient for most people, and that cycle only takes 24 minutes then you're into the dryer. You can be in and out in an hour if you load your machines right. We went around 5p on a Sunday evening, and it wasn't busy at all. 2 other patrons. Then it picked up and during the time we were there most machines were in use. No 5th star because its hot and stuffy inside. Theres a standing fan to try to help, but its broken. Wish there was AC.

Connie and her husband are miracle workers!…read more After the first rain in months, I slipped and fell in the parking lot on my way to work. ...And of course, I was wearing white pants that day. I just knew my pants were ruined, but since these are some of my favorite slacks, I decided to do my best to try and save them. I hobbled, sore, soiled, and embarrassed, to a nearby Target to pick up some stain pre-treating solution. After getting cleaned up and changing my clothes, I applied the laundry solution to my soiled slacks, checked Yelp for great nearby dry cleaners and found this place. Connie was very kind, offered her sympathy and promised to do her best to remove the wet and greasy stains. A few days later, I returned to pick up my slacks. I was fully prepared for Connie to tell me that she had done her best, but that they could not be saved. Imagine my surprise when she handed them over to me with a great big smile on her face. I took the pants out to inspect them and they were brilliantly white. In fact, I don't think they were that white when I initially purchased them! I couldn't believe it! Connie told me that her husband had worked hard to get the stains out for me. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been, cleaning oil and dirt out of a white garment, but I can't tell you how much I appreciate the diligence and hard work they put in to save my garment. And at $8.00 for the cleaning, I would say that the price was more than commiserate with the experience. This will definitely be my cleaners of choice for the remainder of my time in San Ramon!
