I had a shower recaulked and a tile counter re grouted. The shower was only caulked around the base so discoloration and peeling was left up the walls and seat. The counter looks worse than it did to start. I understand they only remove a little old grout but it was soo little you see the old thru the new. They did not remove the old caulking, they just smeared grout over it. There are holes and cracks around the sink and the grout wipes out when you wipe the counter. Save yourself a headache and find another company. I have left multiple messages for the owner and district manager and still have not had a return call.I would be happy to share pictures.

Rose Petal is to Scary Maids as a Ferrari is to a Pinto. I was drawn in to Rose Petal to begin with because they offer benefits to their employees and do their part to elevate the profession of housekeeping (I also had a REALLY scary experience with a house cleaner I found in the EW). I stayed with them because they are fabulous. Whereas another housekeeper might come to your house and clean the same way each time, RPH provides ongoing training to their employees and utilizes a scheduling program so that all the neglected areas of your house get their just due. One visit might have a particular focus on windowsills, the next might be a lookout for spiders. Either way, your house is going to be cleaner than it ever has been. Another feature that I love about RPH is that they utilize your cleaning materials. So, you can be as obsessive as you want about the type of chemicals used in your home. The employees will leave you a note if you're running low on anything, and will also make environmentally-friendly suggestions about cleaning materials that may be more effective (Bon Ami, anyone?). Lastly, although the economy has busted me (at least temporarily), the prices at RPH are VERY reasonable. I pay less per hour for the work that they do than I do with any other cleaning company. Less pay for me, but fair pay for the employees and benefits to boot? Sounds like a winning combo.

I discovered Eric through Google, saw his Eugene address, and found his Facebook page where he was sharing updates about the success of his new handyman service. His authenticity and local roots immediately stood out. We first called Eric because our front door had been sticking and sagging for months -- maybe a year. He explained that there was a 1 1/2-hour minimum charge and suggested we make a list of other small projects to fill that time. That "little list" grew quickly -- and by the end, Eric and his team had transformed our home far beyond what we imagined. Here's just part of what they accomplished: Permanently secured our garage garden tool organizer and built custom garage shelving that perfectly fulfilled and exceeded my original request. Fixed our heavy front door, which now opens and closes effortlessly. Replaced nine exterior LED lanterns, choosing new fixtures with integrated bulbs for long-term reliability. Replaced our sliding door screen and updated all shower and faucet fixtures in our master bathroom. Rehung our large glass shower door and custom-painted the hinges to match the new bathroom fixture color using a special metallic paint that will hold up beautifully to water exposure. The results are fantastic! Throughout it all, Eric's communication was clear, friendly, and professional, and his teammates, Brandon and Terry, were equally skilled, respectful, and efficient. They worked cleanly, moved with purpose, and treated our home with care. A great example of Eric's integrity came when he tried to fix a rusted toilet handle -- and the porcelain tank unexpectedly cracked. Without hesitation, he went out, bought a brand-new toilet, installed it, and refused any payment for it. That's rare, and it speaks volumes about his character. Eric and his team are intelligent, experienced craftsmen with high standards of workmanship and ethics. They far exceeded our expectations in every way. I'll absolutely be calling them again for future repairs and upgrades. I almost didn't want to share this review because I'd rather keep Eric, Brandon, and Terry as our own best-kept secret -- but their work deserves to be recognized. The woman at the office ( sorry, I forgot her name) was very helpful. I went in and could try out the various options with bare feet to see what worked. I got the mat that they sold plus had grab bars installed by Phil when he did the reglazing. Overall a good experience and a reasonable price.
