I had also gone a little over on my air filter, and my check engine light had recently come on. I had already checked my truck on the diagnostic machine at work and knew everything was okay--the air filter was simply due to be changed. Honestly, I went in expecting that I might get the usual upsell: someone telling me I needed a diagnostic test, additional services, or repairs that I didn't actually need. That never happened. The young man who helped me, Ethan, was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and honest. He checked my A/C cabin filter, showed it to me, and explained that it should be replaced. I said, "Okay, let's get it done." And that was it. He never once tried to upsell me on anything else. I got my keys and left. I drove to pick up my daughter, and after the truck completed its normal reset, the check engine light went off--just as I knew it would. I actually went back afterward because I wanted to thank Ethan personally and give him a well-deserved tip. That's how impressed I was with the service. If you're looking for a place where you can get a good oil change, be treated with respect, and not be pressured into buying a bunch of things you don't need, come here and ask for Ethan. To make things worse, at one point we even locked the keys inside the car. It was one of those days you just don't forget. The entire team stepped up in a huge way. They helped us get the car unlocked, made multiple trips to the parts store, and even stayed late past closing on a Sunday evening just so we could get back on the road and make it home that night. They were so patient and kind with us -- especially with our kids -- which meant more than they probably realize during such a stressful day. What really surprised me was the bill at the end. With all the extra effort and the situation we were in, they absolutely could have charged a fortune. Instead, the price was more than fair and honestly much less than I expected. Dave mentioned multiple times that his men did not find an issue with the cylinder at the time of inspection, so "technically" they did their jobs. I should point out, that Dave also said that they test driven it by 10 miles. 10 miles and no issues apparently, yet 2 miles of our struggle before the car gave out. I am hesitant to believe the car was test driven. As my boyfriend was flying back from a work trip, we couldn't get his car till 10 PM, long after Ichiban closed. At 10 PM, we retrieved the car, excited to drive it when... HIS CLUTCH IS LOOSE! Both of us tried it and it feels wrong. NO resistance on the clutch pedal, and he couldn't put the shifter into gear! How is this acceptable! He managed to drive the car off premises but as he got closer to my apartment, literally 2 miles away, he had stopped because he couldn't change gears anymore. That's right, 2 MILES by 11 PM, my boyfriend and his car remain stuck on the side of the road, parallel parked at some street and praying that he doesn't get towed. I did not pay over $2k just to retrieve a car that's not operating properly. Did anyone even test drive it? You guys had the car from Wednesday till Friday. Called me at 9:30 AM stating it's ready, and I didn't even come till 2 PM to pick it up, giving you guys plenty of time to test drive/check for any errors/tighten any loose ends. Since Ichiban is closed, our night, our weekend, is ruined. I really wished I could've given this place 5 stars, the men were nice but the service we received is unacceptable. So, that left me w the impression they didn't want to do it that day. I decided, I wouldn't push it but, I did let one of the guys know. He told me to come back at 3ish. I did and he wasn't there but the other guy took care of it. There was one other car ahead of me and then he said , he would get to my vehicle and it would take 45m. He timed it perfectly. I was thankful about his honesty regarding wait time and completing the Oil Change in 45. The waiting room is small with a few chairs inside and is not that cool. It may be because it's a window ac. Also,They have not paid their Netflix account so, you can't watch Netflix but they have Tubi and Roku. There was a Nigerian lady talking on speaker phone and another guy complaining about how he should have been informed about the services before being charged. I agree w him. I brought it to the service advisor's attention that, I may not need an Oil change. I just assumed so because, my maintenance light was on. He said, he would check it . I expected him to explain why it needed to be changed or show me but, he didn't? He changed it and I found out, it didn't need to be changed. My oil is changed every 10k miles. I didn't receive a receipt either. I don't know what kind of oil was used, how many qts were used. He also removed my oil reminder stickers wo asking. I wanted those for my records. He also, messed with my dimmer knob so my Control Panel was dim. Ugg, so uncomfortable. The Service Advisor was knowledgeable with Groupon too that's a plus. Their Internet was slow so, I had to go outside to redeem by Groupon. Also, the parking lot is pretty full so space can be tight. The music is cranked up load in the shop too. My Audi A4 had gotten to the point where it sounded like it was ready to fall apart. I had previously taken it to the dealership and was quoted over $1,500 to replace my left wheel bearing. Because I simply wasn't in a position to spend thousands of dollars on a repair right now, I had tried going another route with a mobile mechanic--and unfortunately ended up getting ripped off in the process. Needless to say, by the time I came to NRH Auto, I was frustrated and honestly a little apprehensive about trusting another mechanic. When I arrived, I spoke with one of the owner's sons. He took the time to look up the part and put together a quote for the repair. The initial amount was still a little outside of what I could comfortably afford, so I simply asked if there was anything they could do to work with me. And they did. They were able to get my repair done for about half of what the dealership had quoted me, and there was no sacrificing the level of service. My car was completed in approximately 2 1/2 hours, and they even dropped me off at my home nearby and picked me back up when my car was ready. What stood out to me most was how I was treated. I never felt pressured, taken advantage of, or like they were trying to add unnecessary repairs. They listened, worked with me, and got the job done. After dealing with a dealership quote I couldn't afford and then being taken advantage of by someone else, I think I've finally found an honest, skilled, and reasonably priced mechanic shop that I can trust with my Audi A4.
