When you enter, you can choice to go right or left, two sides to the center. To the right is a few games, (such as connect four), life size light bright, and a cool vacuum that you put fluff balls in and watch how it filters through the vacuum suction tubes. You can walk through the volcano and experience what an earthquake could possibly feel like. Walk all the way up to the ship deck and see the world. Down on the main floor, my granddaughter loved learning the magic of being on television. When coming in, if you turned left, you enter the world of life skills and career options. The makeshift grocery store is very realistic and makes it fun for kids to learn to shop and organize. The kids can pretend to work in medical clinics, veterinarian clinics, restaurant personnel (food prep/chef/server), be an astronaut and explore the outer world, firefighter, police officer, lawyer, and/or judge, medical specialist, and more. We were there for a couple few hours. When we got there, it was low key with the Juke Box supplying the tunes. I paid my $5 to hear a bunch of songs I like while we played 8 ball & some cut-throat too. Later, the door was set up for an entry fee & the stage was set up for a rock band. We stayed long enough to hear the 1st set & if you like garage style hard rock, then you will love this place!

We were able to pump our own paint and choose the colors we wanted. I chose the dog because she looks like my dog and I followed the instructions and put my own little twist on it by referring to a photo of my dog. The experience is BYOB and you just bring yourself and everything else is supplied such as the canvas, brushes, and paint! There is a seating chart but they do place you next to your party to make the experience more enjoyable. There will be an instructor in each class that goes through each and every step to complete the painting. Although I'm not much of a painter, the instructor was very helpful in fixing anything I didn't like and answering any questions on steps I had missed. She made the experience very fun with her upbeat, funny personality. I also loved that she wasn't strict in what we were allowed to draw. We could add or omit any part of the painting we wanted! The only complaint I would have is that pricing. It is quite expensive ranging from $35-$45 usually.

Upon investigation I found a nice young lady that told me about the small local history museum,the building and some Tyler history. Very knowledgeable and much appreciated. She pointed out this building was originally an Andrew Carnegie Library. I love the story about his magnanimous philanthropy effort that built libraries across the country Glad I found this one.

After a rather stressful weekend I got the treat to attend an afternoon movie. The box office…read moreattendant was less than pleased to be working. I smiled my way into the concession area picked up a snack and made my way to a seat. Finding a secluded seat not sitting next to anyone. Which is kind of nice. The movie began and all way well. Within about 10-15 minutes left for the show a rude staff member comes and makes a large commotion with her hands arrowing me to step out of the theatre. I was frightened by her as she got rather close to my face. I had just received a text message from family notifying me of a medical emergency. I knew to remain calm and was trying to decide what to do. The decision was made for me when I was told to exit. By this point I was shaking, crying and scared. I went and asked for a refund and was going to leave. I was in no position to drive due to the nature of the text I had received and the manner in which I was being treated. The gentlemen at the concession stand were rather empathetic and said they would get help. The help just so happened to be the rude staff member. She not only escalated the situation by yelling at me and telling me that there was to be no usage of lights in the theatre. I tried to explain my situation and even went as far as to offer to allow her to read my texts. She continued to get closer and closer to me and one point even spilling her snack of popcorn at my feet. I asked her to please not get any closer to me as I felt she may physically assault me. Clearly she was not going to make any effort to apologize for scaring me or even the situation I was facing when leaving the theatre. As I walked out she screamed out that I was an idiot. And to think I was so excited about getting to see a movie in a nostalgic theatre. All charm has been lost on me. For what it is worth I apologize for sending a text message and reviewing a message. My phone was on silent and the screen resolution was as dark as I could possibly make it. Hopefully Glenda will review her own actions, somehow I doubt that there will be any accountability for her. For me lesson learned, movies in this theatre apparently come before family. Oh and by the way, I needed a flash light just to find my seat and feet as there are not any guide lights in the theatre. I guess safety of consumers is a low priority for her as well.
