AWFUL, AWFUL DISHONEST business. Please trust our experience (and the other reviews) and invest your money in a new washer/dryer. Or even an old one from Craigslist. First of all, the appliances are old. Really old. You can expect them to break multiple times. Second of all, they will fight you tooth and nail when you try to use their "warranty". The legal language on the receipt says: "We offer free labor plus parts for the rest of the year." Well, then they will tell you that means "free labor plus (you pay for the) parts". Unbelievable, really unbelievable. Let me break down the cost of what you will likely end up paying for a washer/dryer set: $250: the advertised price for washer + dryer + 1 year warranty! $460: the actual price we paid for a washer + dryer + delivery and installation. (of course, the $250 set does not exist) $145: the cost we paid to have them haul away our broken washer and replace with another shoddy washer within the year. (you know, when the warranty magically stopped covering the price of parts). $110: the cost that we are currently paying a different repairman to service our shoddy replacement after the transmission suddenly gave out. Total cost to date: $715. Yep, could have bought new for that price, and not dealt with multiple phone arguments, broken machines, and time spend waiting on repairs to be completed. (if they do service your machine, beware that they only service one day a week and you have to call about 4 times to get someone to agree to show up). This place is a total scam. My story is long and complicated, so here's the summary: bought washer/dryer set. Washer flooded apartment, "repairman" came and swapped our for much older/rusty washer. Older one flooded apartment too, called and Mark refused to do anything. Eventually, after opening a Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaint, I went to the store again. Mark was "out of the country", and could only talk to me on the phone. He called me some interesting names (clearly upset about the 100% BBB complaint), including calling me a "little sh*t head". His assistant (Zuhir, or "Z" for short) there saved the day after Mark hung up. Z swapped out the ancient washer for probably their newest washer in their "showroom" (it still smelled like cigarettes), and delivered it. Zuhir/Z did what he could to avoid a insanely unhappy customer, but overall Elite Appliances is tremendously dishonest and should be shut down for immoral business practices. read more

DO NOT BUY HERE! We bought a dryer from them that quickly had problems. We got a lot of hot air, saying they were coming out, but then lots of excuses why they couldn't. It finally got fixed, and died again. My husband played phone tag for a week, until we finally went to the store to confront them. Again we got excuses - apparently the owner cares more about sales than service. We'll see if this time they actually fix it - if not I'm demanding a full refund! read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They sell faulty machines, add additional charges after they deliver, and have horrible customer service. I showed up at their store over an hour and a half after they are supposed to be open and the store is closed. When I called their number to see what was going on the guy brushed me off saying he was "just running a little late" and then asked me to sit there waiting for another hour until he showed up. I came back later and should have known better. I needed them to come out and fix the washer I bought there less than 6 months ago and after telling the guy what the problem is he tells me he doesn't know. Then later in the conversation he is suddenly able to diagnose my machine and has a price already figured out. This place is Shady with a capital S. Avoid them and go somewhere that you can trust. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM ELITE APPLIANCES -- horrible faulty products, horrible dishonest salesman, horrible customer service... Where to even begin... There were so many red flags, I really should have trusted my intuition. But if you want about a dozen reasons to stay away from these scammers, read on... - Their Craigslist ads and owner, Mark Mohr's, in-person pitch claims that their washers and dryers are refurbished, in excellent working condition, and less than 5 years old. Ours ended up being 15 years old (looked up the serial number). When it inevitably failed, they sent a 12 year old replacement. - Store REEKS like cigarettes and mold. - They advertise a 90 day warranty. Our machine catastrophically failed at 88 days from the day it was delivered to our home, which was 5 days after we made the purchase in the store. I had to leave a voicemail to him about it because no one answered the phone. Mark felt that our warranty was void because he says the warranty-clock starts ticking the day you pay and the day he decides to return your call. So at that point, we were at 95 days. How convenient for him, right? I had to argue endlessly with him that on principle alone he should have replaced our washer, no questions asked. It failed within 90 days of being in our home. It's not our fault you couldn't get it delivered sooner or that you don't answer the phone sometimes. Why should we lose out on warranty days while the machine sits in your warehouse? - I drew a detailed, scaled diagram on graph paper of the space that we had to fit the washer and dryer into with the outlets and exhaust clearly labeled. Mark reviewed my drawing and assured me that his professional and technical expertise were unquestionable. Guess what? The power cord for the dryer was only 2' long and thus too short. Had to shell out $20 for a new longer one and install it myself. - Mark said that dryer exhaust tubing would be provided. I told him we'd need a few feet (also showed him my drawing). Guess what? His installation crew brought, a mere 6" of dryer tubing, on a truck full of washers and dryers. Another trip to Home Depot and another out-of-pocket expense. - The washer works ok for about 2.5 months when all of the sudden the machine dumps an entire 40 gallon load of water onto our floor, flooding our downstairs neighbors and causing thousands of dollars in damage. So I call for warranty service and Mark probably works the hardest he ever has in his life in trying to avoid replacing our washer citing that the warranty ended 5 days ago. - Eventually, after much grief and repeated phone calls Mark agrees to send a "repair expert." Guy was nothing but bitter and rude the entire time he's in our home. And guess what? In his expert opinion, there's nothing wrong... We just said the machine dumped 40 gallons of water on the floor and you're saying there's nothing wrong?... I'm dumbfounded. So I call Mark back and he tries to argue with me saying that there's nothing wrong because his expert technician said so. When I mention how insane that assessment is, he attempts to suggest that I don't know how to operate the machine. Eventually, I assure him that I have an advanced degree in mechanical engineering and am confident in my ability to operate a 15 year old washing machine. Then he tries to suggest that I had to only use the washer on certain settings, and by watching it in order for it to work... You've got to be fucking kidding me... - Eventually, after much more grief, Mark sends another repairman. But unsurprisingly, after he "fixed" it, the washer worked for exactly 1 cycle before dumping another 40 gallons on the floor, doubling the initial damage. - Finally, after threatening legal action for the damage to the home and cost of the units, he sends over a 12 year old unit as replacement and says our warranty is over and this is all he's doing for us. - BUT THEN, Mark nearly causes me to have an aneurysm when he has the balls to ask me to write him a positive review of my experience online... Here's your review, Mark. Hope it brings you lots of attention. - Fast-forward 3 months later, the timer on our replacement machine just died and the tub gasket was leaking... Going to enjoy unloading my shotgun on this piece of shit washing machine in the backyard. This guy is a real piece of work. read more

I bought a used Washer and Dryer from this store about a month ago and I am very satisfied with my purchase. The only issue I had was that it took hours for the appliances to be delivered. They seem to have used a third party vendor for delivary which screwed-up and eventually the store technitian himself brought them over and installed them. They also offered a year's warranty to fix anything that breaks. All in all, I'm happy with the purchase and would recommend them in case you are not willing to spend too much on new washing machines. read more

What an awful experience. I purchased a washer and dryer from Elite Appliances In July. The dryer has stopped working and it's February. The one year warranty only covers the labor but not the parts. I was quoted a $100 repair fee beforehe even looked at the dryer. When I raised a question about this the man on the phone yelled at me. Avoid this business. read more

BUYERS BEWARE!!!!! These guys are Craig's list scam artists. THEY WILL DROP OFF NON WORKING APPLIANCES AND NOT ACCEPT THEM BACK. RUN AWAY!!! My landlord bought a washer and.dryer because they deliver and we are regretting it deeply. The washing machine was broken and constantly made ridiculously loud noises and the dryer didnt dry! We showed up to return them and the shady owner ( Mark ~ refused to give his full name and I doubt thats his real one) started yelling at my landlord and making her cry until I got out of the vehicle and gave him a piece of my mind. All I had to do was threaten to call the cops and he changed his tune. If you notice the other review, it looks like they were planning to file a police report as well. THESE GUYS ARE AS SHADY AS THEY COME. He refused to give her receipt back after cutting a partial check and gavr no reason other than "this is over, you're not getting your receipt." read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone. They installed a dryer which is working fine. The main issue is the following. They did not connect the dryer hose to the exterior dryer vent. This is huge fire hazard! They did not even warn us about this or let us know that it was not connected. I found out later after the install. All that dryer lint was just accumulating in my crawl space. It could have very easily been connected. At least, they should have warned that it was not connected to the vent. Besides that, they just turned off the gas without recommending that the gas line should be capped. Yet another HUGE safety hazard! I call and spoke to the owner and he said that they just stick the dryer hose through the hole and that is the way they have been doing it for 7 years and never had an issue. That is quite infuriating. At least warn people of the possible hazards. Many home fires start this way. Geesh! read more
