I wish I could give EcoTreck a great review, but our experience ended with 12k of unexpected billing at the end of the project. Their sales person told us multiple times that we would never see that estimate go up. Though I will point out that it does say in the estimate that it could change. They also took down the containments before we could get a clear post remediation test. The only test we had done before the containments were taken down showed Stachybotrys still in the air. They said the inspectors only said they needed to clean not retest. So EcoTreck came back and cleaned and took down containments same day, but said we could keep them up for $40 a pole. Also, and maybe the most egregious one, they would not take responsibility for their systems being hacked at the beginning of our project leading to wire fraud where we lost 37k. They weren't even willing to admit they had a security breach. It was very clear their secretary's computer had been hacked due to using it for personal reasons and clicking on a link acted as a trojan horse to her computer. I was one of two clients who received the fraudulent emails. I was the only one who went through with the wire fraud transfer and lost the money. Mold is devastating enough. To go through wire fraud due to the EcoTreck's security issues was crushing. We paid them in full and they never took financial responsibility for the fraud or the surprise billing. These I are not people I would trust in good faith to do business. I decided not to waste more of my time as they were clearly not going to take responsibility. It was a damaging and devastating experience financially and I don't even know if my home is safe to return to. I would try to find another remediation company that is CIRS educated if you can. If you can't, make sure Richard is the lead on your job.

We hired EcoTreck to do some work on our newly built home in Fort Collins, Colorado, on the advice…read moreof mold inspectors. The inspection yielded no mold, only a lot of construction dirt and dust that needed to be cleaned, but the mold inspectors said we should pay to get a whole house small particulate cleaning done and that we should get our ducts cleaned. So we called EcoTreck. Big mistake. Their name should be EcoWRECK. First of all, their prices are astronomical. Secondly, they do sub-standard work if they do any work at all. We were going to have a local Fort Collins contractor clean the ducts, but EcoWreck said their duct cleaning was more thorough than any non-mold-focused cleaning companies. We believed them, and we paid $2300 for the special duct cleaning. A month later I had my HVAC system inspected because my gas bill was so high and because the system was oil-canning when it finished a cycle. Lo and behold. The HVAC technician discovered that one of our major ducts in the basement was completely occluded. A large piece of cardboard had been cut to fit, then taped inside the duct. The access where they did that was then screwed and painted over with an adhesive, so it was very obvious to him. Question: If EcoWreck did such an amazing and thorough duct cleaning....why didn't they find this occluded duct? I called Angel to inform her and she never got back to me. Their duct cleaner also thought our radon mitigation fan was a separate HVAC so they tried to charge me another $1800. For a radon fan. Don't walk, RUN AWAY.

They were nice, seemed knowledgeable and so I asked them if they could come out the following morning to do an assessment. They came out and told me it would be 50% down to get started. I was fine with this and paid the price. They did a great job at putting up plastic walls to quarantine the work. However, it took a very long time. Finally humidifiers were put in place with fans blowing to the outside. After stepping in water in the middle of the night, I had to figure out why one of the humidifiers was leaking. set up wrong so the water came out of the plastic hose, all over the floor. The plastic drain hose had to be placed into the sink so it would drain properly. This should've been a warning! When I received the final invoice ..., Sticker shock!!! (I was told to read the contract. They have the right to bill the customer more than the quoted estimate if the work goes over, that price. They can do this without informing the customer beforehand.) Pure Restore gave me a price which they told me would be 50% down to get started. I explained to Pure Restore that I was not turning the Claim into insurance, I was paying the bill myself. I confirmed that I would like to keep the price down and asked if they would communicate with me at every step in order to save money. However, communication from the office was very poor. The workmen were reluctant to explain things as we went through the process. The final invoice was a total shock! it was almost $12,000 more than the quoted price. When I attempted to speak with someone about the invoice I was told that the contract says the deposit is only a suggested price that the company can bill any amount over and above the quoted estimate. The explanations didn't amount to $12,000! I even explained that I took out all of the wet, thoroughly soaked carpet myself the charge was not taken off of the bill. I called several times to try and talk to someone about it to no success. After calling the general manager about broken granite, he gave me the runaround and treated me like I was ignorant. As soon as the work was done, I started getting getting invoices emailed, late notices texted and phone calls to pay the "late" invoice. No grace period..., Pure Restore told me they will start charging interest fees. I felt harassed and intimidated by the voicemails, emails and texts. I dipped into my retirement account and paid the enormous bill from pure restore. What a nightmare experience!

Don't walk, RUN from this business…read more I contacted Pure Restore about mold in a rental property. Since I work a 6am to 6pm shift, I am unavailable by phone. I set an appointment for their staff to come and examine the property and issues. I told them the mold was a result from a refrigerator ice maker supply line leak. The kitchen is one the first floor. I was contacted with their plan to address the mold. They told me it would take 3-4 days. later changed to two days, to resolve the issue. I authorized the service. They started on October 28th. I kept getting messages that the moisture level was still high and they need more time. On November 4th, I told Pure Restore staff there had been a water bill indicating 48,000 gallons of water used. This was for a billing period with only one day of the renters in the home. They suggested looking at the crawl space. Amy and two other staff members met me at the property on Monday November 7th to look into the crawl space. The crawl space did have flooding, but with pumps and fans it was dry at this time. They said with the crawl space needed to be treated at an additional expense. What was humorous was the two sales members came out of the craw space as I was arriving. They both looked like a scene from Breaking Bad, in Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) from head to toe. Another member of Pure Restore, who I believed would be doing the work if authorized, was without PPE. I told them I needed to consider my decision. On November 11th I told them to remove their equipment. Pure Restore had been on site for two weeks. They were unable to mitigate the problem. I have two issues with the performance of Pure Restore. First is the failure to look into the crawl space at the initial inspection. Having no knowledge of mold, I relied on their expertise and knowledge. Due to my work schedule, I was unable to be with them at that time. I would expect they would have examined the entire residence. Second is the misleading estimate on time. Going from 3-4 days into two weeks, I would have thought with no improvement on the moisture readings Pure Restore would have looked for a reason as to why the readings were not improving. Needless to say I am not happy with the work. I have offered options about the final bill which have been rejected. At this point after the harassment, I see a court case in my future. While the training, knowledge and expertise of mold growth is not a strong point, the ability of Pure Restore to write letters blaming the client for any problems is excellent. I am sure there will be a long response by Pure Restore justifying their actions,

We went through our insurance company on a damages and they sent out PuroClean for the estimate…read more The estimate overlooked multiple items that needed repair and they had to go back and forth to readjust which delayed the project. After I had sent the the flooring selection they had attempted (possibly an honest oversight) to install lesser quality flooring in a completely different shade that I had sent them. Had I not caught it, it would have been in stalled. I was given multiple assurances that the project would be finished in time so that our tenant would not be homeless. Needless to say that deadline was not met 4 months after the water damage on a project that was not huge. Communication started great until we started to just be told what we wanted to hear without any follow through. I would not recommend working with this company at all.

I carried the sofa out of the apartment a week later and found dried sewage all over the floor beneath it. The company was supposed to come take the couch and it took many days and a not-so-nice conversation with the owner to get the couch removed. I'd never dealt with something like this before and looked to them to help me know what to do...and I learned from my mistakes. Chris blamed his crew and threatened to fire his people in an angry tone on the phone with me - as if it was going to be my fault people would lose their jobs. I went away unhappy that the job was not well done and I was not treated well.
