I had an extremely disappointing experience with Elio's Optical. I spent $800 on a pair of glasses that I have never been able to see properly with. From day one, something felt off -- my vision was not clear, and the prescription didn't seem right at all. What makes this even more frustrating is their complete lack of accountability. Despite me calling about a month and a half ago to explain that the glasses weren't working, they are now refusing to even check if the original eye exam may have been done incorrectly. Their only response is that I passed their one-month window, even though I did reach out within a reasonable time. Now they expect me to pay for another eye exam and purchase new lenses -- which would likely cost me another $800 -- just to fix an issue that may have been their mistake in the first place. For a business that charges premium prices, I expected much better customer service and professionalism. Instead, I feel like they only care about getting paid, not about whether their customers can actually see properly. I would not recommend Elio's Optical to anyone. read more

Fui con mi familia para el chequeo anual, a mi esposa le hicieron la prescripción mal. Ella pidió bifocales, pero no necesita, nunca a necesitado para vision de lejos. La vision de mi esposa de lejos es excelente. Después de usar los espejuelos con la prescription nueva por 2-3 semanas, con continuo molestia en la vision, el ajuste de la vista cuando se quitaba de los espejuelo era pésima y dolor de cabeza recalcitrante, llevo dichos espejuelos a una óptica cerca del trabajo, no Elio óptica, Elio nos queda lejito, para que le dijera que esta mal con los espejuelos. Le dijeron que le habían puesto corrección para ver de lejos, ella sorprendida si no le hace falta de lejos. Hay empezó el sufrimiento de llamar a Elio óptica y unas de las muchachas, recepcionista o vendedora, insistió que ella se iba a acostumbrar a los espejuelos. Quiere decir, acostúmbrate aunque no te haga falta, por que lo digo yo, o mejor, voy a repetir lo mismo cada vez que me llames para convencerte de que si te vas a acostumbrar aunque no te haga falta. Después de varias llamadas y de reglas de parte de ELio, accedieron a retomarle la medidas de la vista, no antes, sin repetirle otra vez, te vas a acostumbrar. Bueno, con los espejuelos arreglados ya por 5-6 semanas no a tenido ni dolor de cabeza y dificulta en ver cuando de quita los espejuelos. Así es como uno vez en Miami un negocio por 25 years, y después quiebran, y uno se pregunta, que les abra pasado. Quizás algo así, pierden la credibilidad. I did not have a good experience at this vision center. My prescription was not made accurately, they never notified me when the glasses were ready, I had to be calling them. He last time I was there the man in charge of making the prescription lenses was supposed to call me back and never did. I do not recommend this business. read more

After so many years of being a customer i realized by comparing with a great amount of places as good as them that their prices are extremely high. Every time i need to get new frames i always end up paying way more than a 1000 for 2 frames no matter if frames are less or more(pricewise). Don't really know the trick but it happens with my husband as well every time. He went back to replace the lenses with the same frame, and it cost him as much as a new pair. The Doctor and Managers are very nice and knowledgeable, the test was quick and affordable, and it is overall a good business. My only complaint is about Carmen, the older lady who sells you glasses after your eye exam. She was very rude and impatient with me. She was explaining the process of the prescriptions lenses to me in Spanish, and Spanish is not my first language. I asked her if she could please repeat what she said, because I did not understand. She then starred at me with an angry/ annoyed face for about 3 seconds before she said "no never mind. you can just get them online." and did not want to continue to help me, and handed me back my prescription. She was very rude and unprofessional. If you do come here and are unfortunate enough to be seated with Carmen, I recommend asking for someone else to help you. read more

Have so many words to say, please don't come to this place, they broke my lenses and they cost $500, they broke them trying to adjust them. They did the new "replacement " with the worst and poor quality, they didn't add the blue block sapphire 360, Frank told me if I wanted to have it I would have to pay it. How I'm going to pay something that they broke? Why do I have to pay for it if they broke them. They also misaligned the armor. The worst experience of my life in this fuc** place. I've been coming to Elios for years and they have always had great customer service. The eye exam is $39 which is reasonable and you get examined by a doctor. The office is walk in based only but you usually get seen within a decent amount of time and usually tend to have your glasses ready by the end of the visit. They have a great selection of frames and reasonable pricing on that too. I was helped by Barbara today which was very professional and friendly and helped my bf and I find glasses and pricing wasn't too outrageous, in fact I got a pretty good deal on my bf's progressive glasses. They have a great promo going on. I live in broward county now but I am always willing to make the trip to Elios!!! They are the best! read more

I kept telling the doctor when doing my sight test that I could see the letters but blurry and he kept ignoring me and kept showing me the same thing when I kept saying "yes I see them but blurry". I didn't even get my prescription the same day or anything I picked out the frames and paid and left. When I went to pick them up i never seen so bad with a pair of prescription in my life. I have always needed to see from close and far. I couldn't even see from really far and from close I would get extremely dizzy and see things smaller. I switch to an old pair of prescriptions and it was perfect. I spent about $300 and it was a complete waste of money. I will not be coming back and will not recommend to any one. read more

They had a very professional equipment, they explained everything in detail what they saw on the eye exam which I found it very interesting and great since I've been at couple of optical and never even see my exam results. Came in here for an eye exam because my prescription had expired. It was a little confusing trying to get an eye exam because everyone is busy with a client. However, there was a gentleman standing at the counter and I told him that I was here for an eye exam. He said he would go ask, he walked away and never came back. I found that to be strange. I walked up to the small area where they do the first part of your eye exam and the lady there was very sweet and helped my friend and I immediately. The doctor was also very nice and professional. If you are wondering the cost of an eye exam is only $39 and you have a prescription for 2 years! I would recommend this place to someone who is looking for a quick eye exam. I went on Friday to get my vision checked and to buy glasses, after being there for a 3 hour process I was told my glasses would be available ANYTIME on Monday. Second no apologies what so ever. I wasted my time and gas which is totally not cool. The lady was like we didn't have your lenses. So unhappy no CUSTOMER SERVICE what so ever. I went to Elio's optical in person. The place was very clean, they provide hand sanitizer, and everybody was wearing a mask (as required). My mom and grandma have always purchased their glasses from them. It was my first time, and I had a great experience. I liked this store and Franks excellent customer service but I did have several issues. I've giving a 4* because compared with several other opticians I've experienced both local and out of state, this one was the best. Some of the problems came from their old testing equipment and the in-house eye doctor, but I've been told they are upgrading that right now. Frank tried several lenses on me before I discovered from a different Dr. at another office who gave me a more thorough eye exam (Schneider) that I have a cataract in my left eye and it's impossible to correct it with eyewear. Also had to have this shop redo two pairs (I bought 5 in total) of lenses because of bad fitting of lens to frame. Elio's Eyewear is by far the best place to receive great customer service and they work hard to make things right for you. read more

This is the place to go for eye exams and glasses in Miami, don't bother going to Bascom Palmer unless you have glaucoma or macular degeneration. It's impossible to get an appointment and their optical store doesn't have a wide selection. I've probably called just about every store in Miami and could not find a place that offers same day service including exam. I needed new glasses asap. You walk in (no appointments necessary), take a number, you put your chin on 5 different machines as they rotate around on the turntable, and you head to the exam room for the eye exam. I was done in less than 30 mins. They have a lab on-site so you can get your lenses in 30 mins. One plus is that they have a free parking lot. I was out the door in less than an hr. Only negative is that they don't have AR coated lenses in stock, must wait 3 days. The best part about Elio's is the price. You get a full eye exam by an eye doctor (with a PhD in optometry) who dilates your eye, checks your retina with a slit lamp, checks your cornea for abrasions/infections, yada yada. I paid less than $100 for the exam and a new pair of glasses. At Edward Biener in Brickell, I paid $75 just for an eye exam. read more

I was really surprised coming in at the selection and service of this little shop. No appointment required to get a vision exam and you do not need insurance. My $60 eye exam gave me a prescription for contacts and glasses. if you just want glasses it's $30. The selection of frames is great, I had no trouble finding the kind of glasses I wanted. Best of all they crafted the lenses for the frames in about 30 minutes! I got many trial pairs of contacts to get by while they ordered and shipped me some new contacts. I have been a client of this optical for over 14 years and this time the experience was very disappointing. As every year, I came in and took a number which the staff used to use to call clients for assistance. Well, this system is no longer in used... even though they have the numbers available, the staff just go by who enters the door, friends go first, and to make the long story short, I had to wait for 45 minutes and after my father complaint about the way clients are being g helped, then i was called in by one of the staff. It is very sad to see what a great business and what used to be the excellence in service has come so down in so little time. I highly recommend management to take action for the benefit of the life of the business. It needs reorganization and improvements in the way clients are serve so everyone leaves your business happy and satisfied. Update from today: Tuesday: I received a called today alerting me that the glasses were ready for me to pick them up and I went. I was greatly helped by Barbara, the best associate there is at Elios. Honestly I have only written reviews on Yelp for food related businesses. I never thought I would be inspired to write a review about an "Optical". In the past to me an Optical was just a random place which I would go to about every 12 months to just get a pair of glasses. Thanks to Elio's Optical that has changed. Their selection and prices are second to none. But the area in which Elio's is "ABOVE AND BEYOND" is in Customer Service. Barbara is amazing. After 5 minutes she makes you feel like you've known her for 10 years. She will explain to you, the different shapes of frames that not only match your style & budget, but even the shape of your face. She will not rush or "push" something on you. Barbara has told me "no no no, take that off" "doesn't fit or look right" then bring me 3 or 4 more styles to try on (even less expensive options), just to make sure I walk out of there with what's right for me. In the past I would just go to whichever major Optical was running a sale like LensCrafters or Vision Works. The selection at those places are limited and their sales are bogus. Somehow there is nothing "free" about the "buy one get one free" sale at LensCrafters. I HIGHLY recommend you check out Elio's next time you need a pair of glasses. They have an amazing staff, but if possible ask for Barbara. read more
