I visited this restaurant twice. Once I got takeout before going to work. The eggs were burnt and the sausage was hard and over cooked. That was when they first opened. It's in my neighborhood so I decided to try again, I went in walked up to the front counter where two ladies was standing, they never acknowledged me. I stood there face to face with them and they continue there conversation right in front of me for almost 10min. A older gentleman came up to the host stand and sat down, I asked him if I could place a to go order he wave his hand towards the two lady's who still had not look up or said anything to me at all. Very nice service. I would give service a 5.5 out of 5 stars. Food taste 4 out of 5. I really love those hash brown potato slices, like my Grandmother used to make. Price 4 out of 5. Horrible. I have tried this place 2 times now. Different times of day and with different ppl. horrible both times. I was given excuses about staff shortages. Products not available. When food came out sausages looked like banquet pre-cooked sausages. Extra charge for Turkey sausage. Eggs had to be liquid eggs not fresh cracked( shelled eggs), potatoes were old and cold. I bet from yesterday. Mind you this was 8:30am today. A carafe of mimosas was $40 yes! We paid it because supporting minority owed businesses is important to me. Went here for my mother birthday because my sister said the food was great. The cook was so nice he greeted us at the door, my waitress was a sweet heart. The food was great. HOWEVER the owner is very arrogant. We came in with a cake to give to my mother with we simply wanted her to see it and take it home with her. We had no plans to open, cut, or eat the cake at his establishment. After we were told not to open it at the door or waitress told us she was told to watch us and make sure we don't open the cake. So this made us uncomfortable because we had already told him we had no plans of opening the cake. I took the cake outside so that we could enjoy our food in peace and not have our table SHARK TANKED the entire visit! He told me as I walked out it is policy and that fine but if it was so big of an issue he should have had us take it back when we walked in to the establishment. I started eating . Lord and behold, there was hair in my eggs. They recooked them but I was beginning to get thrown off. Then went to eat the chicken wings and once again there is hair in the chicken. WTF!!!! on my birthday.....you had to mess up my food...smh. I was very disappointed.instead of them taken it off my bill, they gave me some more fresh food. At this point I don't want it and is completely thrown off of this restaurant. The service I received was poor, even for a beginner. We weren't served water. Only refilled my bottomless coffee once. Didn't pick up the dirty dishes. Coming from a food background, they're service is not great at all. We were talked to maybe a handful of times by our waitress. She only started to pay attention more when they realized how upset we were. The 2hr wait was not worth the it. The food was subpar. Their menus were missing pages and the had repeated items or items that were unclear. We waited too long to get refills on water and when the waitress finally noticed it she didn't say anything just filled it and slightly slammed the bottle on the table as she left it there. The couldn't even cook eggs sunny side up. They said only over easy. Was so excited to eat here it was a Sunday around 1235pm. The hostess said it was an hour wait. That was fine with me because I really wanted to eat here. Me and my friend left and went to the store and came back and noticed that someone car had been broken into. That should have been a sign to just leave but no we went inside and our number was called. We were seated at 1:37 PM our order was placed at 1:40 PM. I thought that was very fast and was so happy. To make a long story short we set there for an hour and 40 minutes without food. The waiter came back after an hour and says oh I forgot to put your order in. I will put that in now it will be out shortly that's when we had to wait another 40 minutes and still no food. We brought attention to the manager and the only thing he said was it'll be right out and the meal is free it's on us. We set there another 10 minutes No food to even Make free. That was it for me no apology or anything put on my coatccn and walked out. went in to eat inside, ordered pancakes and a side of potatoes. the pancakes were delicious, but the potatoes had an awful bitter aftertaste like pennies. what was the worst part of the experience, though, was the atmosphere of the restaurant - specifically how loud and crowded it was. it isn't their fault that they get a lot of business, but it was so shockingly loud in the dining room that me and the two other people i came with could barely hear each other unless we shouted. the loudest thing in the room was a youtube playlist blaring on the radio - while we were eating all we could hear was "THE PRESENCE OF THE LOOOOOOOORD" interspersed with a bunch of youtube advertisements. way, way too crowded and loud. i get the impression that the people who run this place are not prepared for/ do not know how to handle the amount of people that want to eat in here. i cannot emphasize enough that you may want to avoid this place if you get easily overstimulated. can't dock this place too much though, because the pancakes were tasty and the portions were huge. read more

LOVED the host who seated us. We arrived at 8 am on a Saturday people were already eating so I guess opening earlier now. We didn't have to wait like so many other people have lamented on other reviews. The three of us ordered three different meals. An omelet which also came with pancakes. Person said the pancakes and maple syrup were the best part of his order. The southern potatoes that were ordered instead of grits were pretty bad. I agreed as I also got potatoes. Maybe we don't get Southern potatoes though. Our dad ordered his usual oatmeal. I guess we should have realized that it was just a tiny bowl based on the price but when that was the only thing ordered it would have been nice for the waiter to say so. He ordered the fresh fruit bowl to go with it as he mixes it IN with his oatmeal. Problem was the fruit didn't show up even though we said so right away so he was through with his oatmeal before it arrived. How hard can it be that it took 20 minutes to make a fruit bowl. It was good and hot and tasty though, the oatmeal. I ordered the French toast platter and eggs over easy. Eggs and toast were great. It also came with two sausage links. They really were insipid. Only to be served to canines. Yeah so so potatoes. Oh and two coffees and one unsweetened ice tea. I don't pay a lot of attention to a breakfast check but since I did have them print one out and looked at it later. They charged us for coffee refills!! At $2.75 each. And the problem was there was only one refill. Bad enough to be charged for refills but one we never got! With the tiny handheld that the waiter presented its not exactly easy to see what's all been charged even with my 20:20 vision. If it had been one mistake or disappointment I would have really not cared. But when adding up the total of ok omelet missing fruit bowl, bad southern potatoes extra charge for non existent refill and the real refill charge it's a no repeat visit for us. I love Ferguson, was just at Ferguson Brewery the night before. I like supporting local businesses. But if they don't fix some of these problems the old Marley tavern will be looking for new owners sooner than later. read more
