Although printed menus are shown on the website, in reality handwritten menus on lined notebook paper were presented to customers. We chalked it up to being a new restaurant. I ordered the pot roast with potatoes and carrots. I received unseasoned hunks of fatty beef with no gravy, potatoes or carrots. The first side, Tuxedo Greens (Cabbage & Collards), was perfectly prepared. As a fan of both cabbage and collards, I was happy, even though they needed seasoning. The second side, Pineapple Candied Yams, was underwhelming. There was no hint of pineapple, either fruit or juice, and I anticipated an interesting flavor profile. Soft drinks were delivered to the table in unopened cans. Not a good look for an eat-in dining establishment. My other diner was happy with the catfish, but was underwhelmed by the canned green beans w/ no turkey added, and the Mac-n-Cheese, which was essentially overcooked noodles tossed in cheese sauce. We expressed our concerns to both the owner and the chef, but they doubled down on their choices. Deliver as described on your menu. Don't over-promise and under-deliver. Take constructive criticism and work to improve. Bottom line: we are foodies who are excited to support new local eateries. We want them to succeed.

Great menu, great folks, delicious food! We'll definitely be back! (the only thing that kept it from being 5 stars was the lack of Coca Cola products)

Formerly home to a more casual eatery, the space in downtown Ferguson has gotten a glow-up--and a name to match. Taste: By Tastee Eatz feels like the grown-up, dinner-party version of its predecessor, swapping the takeout hustle for a more laid-back, sit-down experience. From what I've gathered (and a little nosy eavesdropping never hurt anybody), the kitchen's got roots tied to the dearly missed Love at First Bite. That alone had me ready to risk it all on the menu. The vibes? Impeccable. The folks running the show were warm, inviting, and had that kind of familiar energy like you just pulled up to a cousin's house who knows how to throw down in the kitchen. Service felt like catching up with old friends--if those friends also served you fire food on real plates. Now let's talk about that Rasta Pasta. Creamy, spicy, and portioned like they knew you skipped lunch. You could split it with someone... but why would you? This is not the time for modesty. I left full, happy, and already plotting my return. Next on my hit list: that many varieties of fried rice and St. Pauls that currently are only available on the late night menu . If those hit like the pasta did, I might need to start a tab.

Very great service from the staff. Love the layout & atmosphere. I enjoyed my Chicken & Waffles with a unique orange taste, chicken, quesadillas, and fries. Jason Lamont was personable, friendly, and made us feel welcomed. Would recommend!

I tried Lamb Chops w/Grits (1st time having Lamb Chops) & Eggs Over Easy, Salmon Croquette w/Rice & Scrambled Eggs and Shrimp & Grits. There was a hint of gaminess on the Lamb, but it was good. There is so much I want to try at Elicious. This restaurant will see me again. 8.5/10

Once we were seated, it took another 10 minutes before our waitress came to the table, and about 40 more minutes before our food arrived. As for the food, there were definitely some highs and lows. The pancakes were outstanding--light, fluffy, and probably the best thing I had. My dad ordered the seafood omelet, and it looked amazing. He said it tasted just as good as it looked. On the other hand, the grits lacked seasoning, and the salmon croquettes could definitely use more flavor. I also ordered scrambled eggs with cheese, expecting the cheese to be mixed throughout the eggs, but instead it was simply a slice of cheese placed on top and partially melted. The staff was friendly and courteous throughout our visit, which I appreciated. However, as a culinary school graduate, I couldn't help but notice that the front-of-house operations seemed a bit disorganized. Better communication and more efficient service would make a significant difference to the overall dining experience. Overall, it was a mixed experience for our table of four. There were some dishes we really enjoyed and others that fell short. I'm on the fence about returning, but I haven't completely ruled it out. Hopefully they'll improve the timing and organization because the potential is definitely there.

I had the pork chops on two occasions, and each time it was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Highly recommend!

But right off the bat was one of my pet peeves: QR menus. Maybe when the pandemic was at its worst, they were necessary, but we've learned to live with it, so let's go back to physical menus. The service was super friendly, with our server training a newbie. We started with the Arepas con Platanos Maduros, a corn cake with veggie crumbles and platanos. They were really good. I'm always up for a dish with maduros, so I was happy to see this. For our main course, my boyfriend got the jambalaya, while I got the mushroom ravioli. He loved his dish. Mine was decent, but unless you love brussels sprouts, you may find them a bit overwhelming. I found myself wishing I'd ordered the katsu sandwich. (They were out of the maitake mushroom dish that looked interesting.) For dessert, we got the dark chocolate and tahini budino, a rich mousse, and the cinnamon bread pudding that was coved in a toasted aquafaba whip that was just divine. If, like me, you don't drink, you'll be glad to know the restaurant has a few zero-proof cocktails. I loved my Smokey Orchard, smooth drink with zero-proof whiskey, apple, rosemary, and lemon. My boyfriend got the Rhinestone Cowboy, which does have alcohol. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would recommend it to folks visiting.
