I didn't get a chance to take a picture of my food but it was 10/10. I had the jerk oxtail pasta, it was really good. The portion size was just enough and the flavor was on point. The size of the two oxtails was worth that price. Our entire group thoroughly enjoyed our food. They accommodated our group of 9 people after another restaurant couldn't and it was worth it. The owner and our server were really nice, and they managed our group as the restaurant got busier. Despite one small hiccup of one of the dishes coming out much later than the rest of the food, the overall experience was good. I'll definitely be back to try other options. read more

This was my second visit (08/21/2026) in little over a year. In my first visit last year, Taste presented itself as an upscale dining establishment. However, it was a total misfire. First off, my menu was handwritten on a sheet of notebook paper. My soft drink was served in an unopened can with a plastic cup of ice. My green beans were canned, and the pasta in my mac & cheese was overcooked. The words (upscale dining) and the execution didn't match up at all. Since then, I learned that Taste did a relaunch. So, with this second visit, I was curious to see what improvements were made. Unfortunately, in their relaunch, they decided to pivot from upscale dining, and be more of a casual, takeout-focused place. Dining in now consists of metal trays, condiment packets, paper napkins, and plastic cups. I was really hoping for an improved upscale dining experience. One thing I noticed right away was the number of long tables set up for seating up to 6 people. There were no tables for a smaller party (e.g., dinner for two). In fact, I think this was the same setup in the previous version of Taste. Prior to my visit, I checked out the menu at the website, and the Ox Tail Sliders caught my eye. However, at the restaurant, I discovered that the menu (this time, it was printed and laminated) didn't include the Ox Tail Sliders. I also discovered that all the other ox tail dishes were only available on Saturdays. So I chose the Fins N Feathers (4 chicken wings, 2 catfish filets, and fries), and the watermelon flavored lemonade. Even though the dining area wasn't particularly full, it still took about 35 MINUTES for my food to arrive at my table! And both the chicken and the catfish were very salty. For what it's worth, my server brought me another lemonade for having to wait so long. Overall, Taste just wasn't what I hoped to see on this second visit. read more

Taste is a very nice casual dining spot locates in Ferguson. It is a black owned restaurant There is a rose wall for photo opportunities. They have some nice artwork on the walls. Customer service was great. You place your order and they bring it out to you. There was table service as well. The guy explained everything and answered any questions. The food was very good. I heard great things. It was as good if not better than what I heard. The turkey ham fried was delicious. They have an assortment of peppers, onions, green onions, and eggs with the e protein of your choosing. The Creole Pasta with oxtail was amazing. The oxtail was very tender. Last but not least I tried the wings and fries. Of course it was very good. They have there own seasoning blend on the fries. This made them stand out. Come try Taste if you haven't. I have to admit the restaurant is very clean and Beautiful. It has awesome decor. The service was a little slow. I believe they could and should come up with a better system of ordering. I ordered several different items from the menu, all of which were prepared after you order them. The shrimp could've been cooked a little longer. The dough on the shrimp and vegetables were undercooked. The ox tail sliders have a cheese, and a sauce which I wasn't expecting. I'd prefer not to have the cheese and sauce. I went this evening and tried their birria quesadilla. I ordered at the counter and shortly after my food was brought to my table. I was pleasantly surprised how much meat was in these quesadillas. This entree was about $22 and I feel like I got my money's worth. The consume was thick and flavorful with lots of green onions. I am kicking myself for not ordering the gooey butter cake cheesecake by the register it looked so good. Overall I had a great experience. The service was great and the staff was very attentive. My food came out hot and fresh. Not to mention the interior of this place is appeasing to my eyes, which is always nice. read more

Although printed menus are shown on the website, in reality handwritten menus on lined notebook paper were presented to customers. We chalked it up to being a new restaurant. I ordered the pot roast with potatoes and carrots. I received unseasoned hunks of fatty beef with no gravy, potatoes or carrots. The first side, Tuxedo Greens (Cabbage & Collards), was perfectly prepared. As a fan of both cabbage and collards, I was happy, even though they needed seasoning. The second side, Pineapple Candied Yams, was underwhelming. There was no hint of pineapple, either fruit or juice, and I anticipated an interesting flavor profile. Soft drinks were delivered to the table in unopened cans. Not a good look for an eat-in dining establishment. My other diner was happy with the catfish, but was underwhelmed by the canned green beans w/ no turkey added, and the Mac-n-Cheese, which was essentially overcooked noodles tossed in cheese sauce. We expressed our concerns to both the owner and the chef, but they doubled down on their choices. Deliver as described on your menu. Don't over-promise and under-deliver. Take constructive criticism and work to improve. Bottom line: we are foodies who are excited to support new local eateries. We want them to succeed. read more

It's because we have come all the way from south city jJust to walk into closed doors, but on the door it says they open until 9 and on the website. It says they open to 9:45. Taste: By Tastee Eatz feels like the grown-up, dinner-party version of its predecessor, swapping the takeout hustle for a more laid-back, sit-down experience. From what I've gathered (and a little nosy eavesdropping never hurt anybody), the kitchen's got roots tied to the dearly missed Love at First Bite. That alone had me ready to risk it all on the menu. The vibes? Impeccable. The folks running the show were warm, inviting, and had that kind of familiar energy like you just pulled up to a cousin's house who knows how to throw down in the kitchen. Service felt like catching up with old friends--if those friends also served you fire food on real plates. Now let's talk about that Rasta Pasta. Creamy, spicy, and portioned like they knew you skipped lunch. You could split it with someone... but why would you? This is not the time for modesty. Taste was delicious. Surprise on the oxtail pizza. Who thought of that . A special menu item that ought to be regular. My husband has always looked at the family sideways when we indulged in this delicacy. Well, he was all in on the pizza. How bout it!!! Got him a shrimp Philly and he ate that too . Talked about how tasty it was. The service was timely since everything is cooked to order. Because of that it could take you a minute. Go next door to the wine bar while you wait. (Just a suggestion, pleasant waiting space too) The Taste is clean and comfortable with plenty seating. I look forward to returning and trying other menu items. It's really good and cooked well I had the catfish and it was well seasoned and crispy the way I like it cooked. Definitely will be back.

Service started off nice. The diner looks nice. The owner greeted us well and explained menu. I ordered food, paid, left a tip, and waited for my food for an hour, just to be told that there was a mix up and my order had to be cancelled. I am disgusted and highly disappointed. The restaurant is very clean and cute. I liked the pictures on the wall. They play good music you can vibe to. I got the lamb chops and a catfish St. Paul. My kids both got the fried catfish platter. The catfish was cooked to perfection. I'm usually not a lamb chop person but heard the ones here were good. I was not disappointed, they were tender and very flavorful. The garlic mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts (I substituted them for the asparagus) were really good as well. I've never heard of a catfish St. Paul but will definitely be ordering it again. went there to get a to go order I called the order in at 2:00 for a 5:30 pick up they told me it was to early. I called back at 5:00 placed the order as I'm pulling up 30 mins later they were calling to tell me I have to come in and pay before they can put my order in. I went in paid for the food waited 45 mins I asked the lady to check on my order just to be told they didn't send my order back to the kitchen when I paid for it ... I left that restaurant at 7:00 pm ..my total was $170.00 all they offered was $27 back and a banana pudding not once did they offer a cup water for our wait or any of the sort... the one lady was nice and very apologetic she's the only one who tried to figure out what was going on while the other waitress was rude and the other one never even opened her mouth...we were missing asparagus from our meals my sandwich had nothing I asked for is on it read more

I stop by Taste on October 3, 2025. I love the decor. As I was looking over the menu I was considering the vegan pasta unitl I noticed for $ 5.00 more I could get green peppers and onions, say what!!
