We made a reservation for 2 pm to do their custom perfume experience and paid for the engraving (you get to name it and they engrave it) We arrived and there was a shift change, so Carre took over and helped us the rest of the way. When you arrive you take a test to see what kind of perfume category you fit into as a suggestion They even have you meditate for a few minutes in another section of the place to see what pops into your mind and what you are craving in life You do a LOT! We were here for two hours. You even write a post card to your future self and they mail it to you at a completely Random time. Could be tomorrow, could be a year from now. After doing all the quizzes and etc, they hand you a sheet of paper with all the perfume available but they put check marks next to ones they recommend for YOU. Once you get to the perfume wall you smell a bunch of different ones, if you're overwhelmed they give you coffee beans to smell and you can step outside for fresh air. You circle on the paper which ones you like Then, it's time lol. This was extremely hard, but fun. You get to put the ones you picked on test strips and then see how they dry down and etc. And, you have to smell them all together to see if the notes you picked work together I will say, I was in heaven considering I collect perfume and very rare niche ones. And if you are a lover of DIY cosmetic experiences like the birthday girl who picked this for her birthday, you will love it Also, if you are sensitive to perfume, this place is NONTOXIC. It's all clean, vegan and nontoxic I will say, the whole experience was a 10/10. I don't think the perfume is very strong like ones you get at the store (because it's all clean and nontoxic. But, it's better to be safe) The only downside is, we paid 200 plus dollars for the engraving option (again, that package cost more) and the engraver was down. So, sadly we don't have our bottles engraved yet. But we've been keeping in contact with the staff and have a future date picked Overall it's a fun experience for a bunch of different occasions. Everyone creates something unique, so when someone compliments your fragrance, you know they aren't going to be wearing the exact same one. They also save your profile, which makes this a place I could see coming back to again and again. The shop is super clean, beautifully set up, and the perfume bottles are honestly adorable. We were on the hunt for a truly non-toxic perfume and discovered Elia Parfum in Newport Beach--and it ended up being such a fun, memorable experience. We were able to create our very own custom perfume from start to finish. Smelling all the different scents, narrowing down our favorites, and then working with one of the team members to blend them together in varying ratios until we found the perfect combination was so enjoyable. Once we finalized our blend, we even got to name our perfume and have the bottle engraved, which made it feel extra special. I'm extremely sensitive to fragrance--I usually can't spend more than a minute in a perfume or candle aisle before getting a headache and needing to leave.
