Went for first visit and the office staff was very disorganized and spent too much time complaining about other staff members.

This was my first visit there, but I have found where I will go and where my family will go…read more Walking in, they were the nicest receptionists I have met in a long while - and at my age you see more doctors. Helpful and just pleasant. AND not flooded with 30 pages of paperwork so many places have you fill out. off topic for a minute - BUT WHY CAN'T IT BE SHARED SO YOU ARE NOT CONTINUALLY FILLING OUT THE SAME THINGS OVER AND OVER AND OVER....at any rate. I did not have a long wait...very impressive. The young lady that administered all the pretests before seeing Dr. Hefner was so great. She explained everything being done and why. Took time to talk to me and get everything down. Again, not a long wait for the doctor. HE WAS SO NICE. Came in, shook my hand and proceeded to cover everything I could even image for an exam. Because I am diabetic, over 65, and had cataract surgery a year ago, he covered a lot with me. Never felt rushed or pressured to hurry through. I have had a LOT of appointments with eye doctors since I stared with bad eyes in 4th grade....but I have to say this was by far the best experience with an office all the way around. My grandson and daughter will definitively use this office. AND ON A SIDE NOTE - I loved the chair I sat in and the receptionist went out of her way to call the person who ordered all their office furniture to find out where it was from..NOW THAT WAS OVER AND ABOVE...

The next day, I went to the ER trying to get some relief from pain. I was referred to Dr. Guzman who was able to get me in the next day and was able to help. I was so grateful for the relief. On day 3 of the consecutive office visits, the doctor saw that I had an unused insurance benefit for new glasses and insisted that they could test me for that. I asked if that was a good idea to do it now since my vision was still blurred and didn't the eye need time to heal. Doctor insisted it would be fine. The jerk that did my eye test kept insisting that I decide whether slide A or Slide B was a better view. I honestly couldn't tell because everything was blurry. After again telling the tech I couldn't see, he was just downright rude. Then as soon as the test was over, the doctor tells me that I don't have to order glasses from them but the person that handles the glasses was already in the exam room ready to lead me to the display area. No surprise that my ordered glasses were useless. I had to get retested and they charged my insurance company again for an eye exam that shouldn't have been done in the first place. I am so disappointed with the subsequent terrible service because I was initially happy that the doctor was willing to see me on short notice. Maybe that should have been my first clue.

Okay, I'm almost afraid to recommend Dr. Chung for fear he will become inaccessible when I need to…read moresee him, but he's such an amazing doctor, and Signature Medical Group is such an amazing practice, I feel I owe it to him to thank him, but telling others what a great doctor he is. He could easily win the primary care doctor of the year award, in my opinion. I have to be honest; I am not a huge fan of doctors or the medical field, for the most part. I have had some pretty awful and traumatizing experiences at the hands of the medical profession over the course of my life, and so I had been without a primary care doctor for a number of years before I found Dr. Chung. I was going with the, if I don't think about it I'll be fine mentality. However, it became clear I really did need to see a doctor, and so an extended family member suggested I see a colleague of his, who was not taking patients. Dr. Chung was new to the practice, and so I thought, okay, I guess I could give him a try, but I steeled myself, for what I assumed would be a horrible experience. My first visit with Dr. Chung was a game changer. I wanted to hug him after my visit and all of his staff as well. He LISTENED! HE LISTENED! HE CLEARLY ACTUALLY HEARD WHAT I HAD SAID TO HIM. HE MADE OBSERVATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS! HE NEVER GAVE ORDERS. He was, at ALL times, respectful, thoughtful and I felt so comfortable with him. In the past 5 or so years that I have been Dr. Chung's patient, I have never had a negative experience with his practice, (Okay, one time, one of the office staff was crabby, but hey, we all have off days sometimes, and it wasn't a big deal, just a tiny bit of edge). After I met Dr. Chung, I immediately scheduled my kids, and my mom with him, and now pretty much my entire family call Dr. Chung when they need a doctor. Seriously, he's an awesome doctor! I wish he could clone himself. Oh, by the way, the rest of the practice is pretty amazing too. I've occasionally had to see Dr. Chung's colleagues when he's been on vacation and they are just as awesome as he is. The support staff are great too; very kind, thoughtful, gentle, non-frightening, and so comfortable to be with. Thank you Signature Medical Group, you've changed my mind about doctors.
