The challenge: the line had to penetrate a shear wall into the garage -- already packed with HVAC, gas lines, and existing electrical -- and then find its way to the laundry room in the center of the house. We fully expected to be patching sheetrock on at least one wall when it was all over. Ed Electric surprised us completely. Not only did they identify a far simpler and smarter route into the house that we never would have thought of, but they ran the line in a way that is completely hidden yet fully accessible -- and not a single piece of sheetrock was touched. We recently hired Integrity Electric to upgrade our main electrical panel to 200 amps and install a…read morenew subpanel inside the garage. Unfortunately, based on the quality of the work and the way our concerns were handled, I would not hire them again. I admit I made the mistake of having the bulk of the work done when we were out of town. When we returned home, the exterior installation looked sloppy and unfinished. There were visible gaps, messy patching, and an overall lack of care in how the final work looked. Inside the garage, they also left open holes from the exterior, and the panel cover would not even close properly. The roof work was also disappointing. They patched part of the roof using something that noticeably stands out from the surrounding area, making the repair look careless and unfinished. I understand that electrical panel upgrades can require exterior modifications, patching, and tradeoffs. The issue is that the finished result looked rough, and we were not warned ahead of time about how visible or sloppy some of these modifications would be. When we raised our concerns, the response was disappointing. The owner, Jerry, acknowledged that parts of the work could have been done better, but his response was essentially that "at least it's not on the front of the house." That felt dismissive. Whether the work is on the front, side, or back of the house, I still expect a professional contractor to take pride in the finished product. Had we known the final result would look this way, we may have made different decisions about the scope of work. Instead, we paid extra for the electrical upgrade and are now likely going to have to pay additional money to make the exterior and roof work look presentable. Rigo did a great job with the 3 things I had done: replacing an electrical panel, replacing 2 light fixtures, and installing a smoke alarm. He was on time, knowledgable, and efficient. I don't think it is necessarily the cheapest option around but with something like this, quality and experience matters and they did a great job and handle permits and such. They did exactly what I asked them to do and were responsive over email and able to ask the exact questions they needed which made things seamless. This is not necessarily a bad thing but they could have probably done some kind of "walk through" around the place and found some additional work for me. Upselling is obviously not always a great practice but in my case, there were some things that I wish I had done and I think they could have suggested them and left it up to me to say yes/no to during the initial inspection. For example my kitchen could definitely use at least 1 additional outlet, I should have probably replaced a 3rd light, and so on. I do respect that they don't try to take you on a ride but since it is probably efficient to do things all at once, may have been helpful to discuss (this was also my bad for not noticing these things before). Rigo did a bunch of smaller things that made a big difference too like taking out the packaging for the lights and the old ones as well as the old electrical panel, clearly labeling all the switches very neatly which was not well done before, answering my questions and explaining things in a way that I (someone with little knowledge about most of this stuff) would understand.
