Mr. Oliveira did an excellent job from start to finish installing a Tesla Wall Charger. Showed up on time, was hands down the most polite guy I have ever met. Cleaned up after he was done and even helped setup the charger in the Tesla application. Would absolutely recommend SOS Electric to everyone. Thank you! read more

They were very fast and affordable! I had Ronaldo out here in less than 2 days and he had our outlet fixed in a few minutes! We will absolutely use their services again in the future! read more

Had SOS put in the 240v outlet we needed for our new induction range. Our house is ancient, our wiring outdated (except for the panel, thank goodness) and I was afraid of what the electrician would say. SOS gave us the lowest estimate by several hundred dollars, AND that's including a separate circuit + outlet for our fridge. Job was done in one morning, techs were super friendly and thoughtful. We'll need a full-home rewiring in the coming years and will probably use SOS. read more

SOS Electrical was quite accommodating! I called on Monday, Dec 22nd thinking I wouldn't be able to get an electrician out to do a small electric job of changing out a bunch of recessed can lights to the new can-less LED wafer lights. Well, they came out the next day Tuesday, Dec 23rd exactly at 8am and finished everything by 9:45am. I am quite happy with the results, Ronaldo responded quickly to my email and calls and was able to send/dispatch a person out. Payment was straight forward via text link and credit card payment. Overall, happy with the experience and would use them again in the future. See pictures below read more

No job was too small nor too large. Several outlets were not working in this 71 year old house. Work was done quickly, neatly, and totally professionally. Problems and solutions were explained and communication was outstanding. This is our fourth job with SOS Electric and we continue to be immensely impressed! read more

We hired SOS Electric to install a NEMA 14-50 receptacle for EV charging station. We found them to be professional, knowledgeable and thorough. They are also very detail oriented and take pride in their work. They delivered every part of the process timely and expeditiously. Every interaction and/or communication with the technicians and staff was positive, professional and a feeling that SOS Electric cares. They were not the lowest bidder nor were they the highest bidder, however; the value of their service is unmatched. I highly recommend SOS Electric to anyone who has electrical needs. read more

Ronaldo gave us a very reasonable estimate for replacing the existing lighting in our front yard with low voltage lights and up lights for a few trees. His workman arrived promptly on the scheduled day and worked steadily until the job was completed. All old lights were hauled away. We are completely satisfied with the work done and would not hesitate to recommend SOS to anyone looking for lighting improvements. read more

Once again, I have nothing but positive things to say about SOS Electric. They got back to me and set up an appointment quickly (I called on a Friday and was seen Monday morning after being away for the weekend). Paulo, who was the electrician I saw previously, came by this time as well. Great to work with -- he diagnosed the problem and fixed things as rapidly as anyone could, as well as being personable and giving me extra information about my circuit box. read more

SOS stands behind their work! They installed a 240 NEMA 1450 receptacle for electrical vehicle charging several years ago. The receptacle recently had issues and SOS came out and replaced it at no charge. read more

I'm happy to be writing this review for Ronaldo and the team at SOS Electric. Their customer service is really on point and whenever someone came to my home, they were clear and concise as to what service they would be performing. I think all-in-all, the fact that they are easy to schedule is really the best part. I know many electricians in Marin have gotten too big and just can't handle the capacity. SOS appears to be highly successful while also having many slots for service. I know several people who also use SOS and they all have glowing reviews. Keep up the great work, Ronaldo. I appreciate your company a lot. read more

The team did a great job installing several new grounded outlets, a new subpanel, a car charger, and several exterior outlets that I can control with my phone. They were also responsive to fixing a mistake I made later on my irrigation system wiring :) I definitely recommend SOS Electric! read more

Ronaldo and his crew would get 10 stars from me if I could! His company came highly recommended by a friend, after I had had a different electrician company misdiagnose a lighting problem and their repair completely stopped the lights from working. First, one of Ronaldo's crew came out to give a free estimate - this young man was remarkably knowledgeable and efficient. Then I was astounded at how responsive and helpful Ronaldo was in helping me figure out next steps and setting up estimates and receipts separately for the parts I was paying and those I would be reimbursed for through my warranty company. The work was beautifully completed, on-time at reasonable cost and in the most professional manner. I sure wish there were more contractors around like Ronaldo! SOS will be my go-to for any electrical work and I am recommending Ronaldo to my neighbors and friends. read more

Everything involved in a service call went very well. From the time Ronaldo was here to give a reasonable estimate (one I could afford) to processing a contract online to promptness with appointment times to the quality of work and how adaptations were handled as needed, to responses to my questions and to the positive, friendly and even cheerfulness on the part of the electricians - excellent. I recommend SSS Electric highly!! read more

There were two problems that needed to be fixed -- the circuit for an exterior light, and the buzzer to release the latch in an entry gate. I couldn't have asked for anything better from SOS Electric. The technician, Paulo Vitor, was prompt, friendly, figured out the electrical problems rapidly, explained the issues to me, and gave me advice for future maintenance. If I have any other electrical issues, I'll go back to SOS Electric in a heartbeat. read more

Ronaldo has an excellent and extensive knowledge of electrical needs. His employee came over and pinpointed the problem, then immediately fixed the problem and charged a fair price. If you want any electrical issue done RIGHT, then call Ronaldo @ SOS Electric. read more

Working with Ronaldo, Hector and Allen was terrific!! We wanted to install new undercabinet lights, 2 new sink lights, 2 new outdoor fixtures, change several switched to dimmers and replace 35 + year old breakers in the panel. Ronaldo came by with Hector and Allen on the morning work began, explained all the work thoroughly and where sheetrock would need to be cut. Then Hector and Allen did the work. They were very professional and neat (put up plastic sheets, to prevent dust spreading, kept their tools organized and out of the way) and answered all my questions. The sheetrock cuts were very sharp, and they put back the squares and rounds that were cut out so that all that is needed is tape, mudding and paint. The panel had serious excess wire which they cleaned up wile replacing the breakers. I highly recommend SOS, especially if you need tricky wiring behind sheetrock. Phil F read more

We've used SOS twice now. First time was a decent chunk of repairs that needed to happen, new breaker box, we had an old Zinsco which are a huge liability, needed to prep the house for solar, and add an EV outlet in the garage for our electric car, these guys came in at a competitive price, very responsive, got permits done quickly. Speaking of that, when the inspector from the city comes out and tells you, "Oh nice, you're using SOS, these guys are good, this will be a quick inspection" you know you made a great choice. These guys also moved our breaker box inside the house to be way more accessible (it was inside a cabinet before) and did a really nice job keeping it tight and clean in the drywall. Second, time is more recently. Small job, installing a couple new ceiling lights and also, fixing the crappy old fluorescent bay lighting we had in our garage. Here's why these guys are good, rather than replace every bay, they said they can install a small device that bypasses the breaker in the bay and put in LED lights that are brighter for one, and use way less energy. Additionally, we had some miscommunication on the initial appointment, a tech got sick, some calls were missed and Ronaldo the owner was on top of it, apologized for the miscommunication (and btw, all good Ron, we know y'all are busy!) and just charged us the service call rate for the ceiling lights. We got more electrical work that needs to happen down the road, I mean it's a 70 yr old house nearly and I'll be coming back to SOS and Ron for help, these guys are pros and do fantastic work. read more

Working with Ronaldo, Hector, and one other technician was awesome. They were responsive and worked in partnership with us to determine the scope of the work. We had them replace the kitchen can with LED retrofits, check the wiring in the attic, install dimmers and install 10 GFCI three-prong outlets in place of two-prong outlets. Hector and his partner were responsive by email and text. They are a nice local company and we'll use them again for future work. read more

Ronaldo fixed an outlet within minutes and didn't charge me by the hour. Honest guy. Was very safe in warning us about adding a new 240v outlet for electric car charger. Knowledgeable and experienced for sure. You can trust him to make sure your electric is done right. read more

We had 4 electricians come out and quote our job which included Installing overhead lights and fans in three bedrooms, two humidistat bathroom fans, moving the electrical box, wiring our fireplace for gas conversion, and wiring our entire garage + track light install. Ronaldo was the most thorough during initial project scope, and very competitive from a price standpoint. He was also the only electrician who provided a quote without a follow up. Scheduling was a breeze. The SOS team showed up on time every day, they were pleasant to work with, and very COVID safe. With all the work involved, we were envisioning ripped up sheet rock and the holes all over our house. This was not the case at all. The SOS team wired everything with laparoscopic precision resulting in very little patchwork. Very highly recommend. read more

I have used SOS Electric twice in the last month to help me out with a few electrical issues at my shop in San Rafael. 2 different technicians helped me resolve my problems. They were highly skilled and very easy to work with. I could not be more pleased. Garren read more

I initially contacted SOS as one of my bookshelf lights had become stuck and wouldn't turn off. They were able to get the light turned off while they located a new switch so it would work properly. I then hired them to replace the final nine in-ceiling halogen lamps in the house, a remnant of the remodel in 2013. Hector showed up on time and worked diligently but due to supply chain issues delaying the installation of the trims, the job stretched on interminably, with no lights in any of the home's bedrooms for around a month. They apologized and offered me a credit on the bill for the long delay and I'd have no problem hiring them again. I especially appreciate Hector, who's a very hard worker and very up front about what it'll take to get the job done. I like that this is a business founded by immigrants who go the extra mile. read more

I was having a window removed and replaced and needed to have the electrical conduit, junction box, timers etc. on the adjacent exterior wall temporarily removed while the work took place. I certainly recommend the company and will be using them again if the need arises. read more

I have struggled to find a good electrician for years. Recently an acquaintance recommended SOS, so I contacted SOS for an intermittent electric problem in part of our house, and they responded with an appointment within the week. They were scheduled to come between 2-3pm, and at 2:18 the technician (Gabe) texted to say he was running a little late. He arrived well before 3, diagnosed the problem and replaced several old, corroded breakers, and cleaned up our old panel within an hour. Ronaldo called his technician during the service to make sure everything was done to the highest standard. The work was thorough, careful, and efficient. I will not hesitate to call on SOS the next time we need any electrical work!! read more

Amazing! We had a size blow on a Sunday mod shelter in place right after I braved the grocery store to stock for 2 weeks. Will always use them for any work going forward!!! read more

I am not a particularly easy person to please, I admit. But this company exceeded my expectations. They did have to reschedule my appointment for later in the same day because a staff member called in sick-that stuff happens. But the crew arrived promptly at the rescheduled time, was efficient, and made sure none of my property was damaged during the job, which was swapping out seven recessed halogen bulbs for more efficient LED bulbs in a sixteen foot high entry way and stairwell. I will use this company again if the need arises! read more

I called SOS Electric for an assessment and estimate for electrical sub panel upgrades for my 1908 house. While my existing panels were functional, one was about 50 years old, and I was concerned about safety. Hector came by and I was really impressed by the completeness of his review, recommendations and communication. We agreed on the scope of work, which included a 240 outlet in my garage for any future Ev need. Hector and team (Alan, Leo, Paulo) did an outstanding job and were great to work with. My kitchen ceiling light's transformer stopped working, so I reached out to a few electricians via Yelp and SOS was fastest in getting back to me. I was able to schedule an appointment for the following week -- unfortunately, SOS almost stood me up. When I called after the appointment window, there was no record of my appointment or plan to swing by, though the Yelp messages jogged some memories. Luckily, it wasn't too late and Ronaldo from SOS stopped by. Really nice, confidence-inspiring guy. Seemed to know what type of transformer to order to get me back into the light. This seemed like an easy transaction. Perhaps I had finally found that rarest of unicorns: the electrician who actually shows up. My last guy, appropriately named Elvis, proved so elusive, I may have just dreamt that he actually existed. Keep an eye out for Elvis sightings! I want to believe! Back to Ronaldo: When I didn't hear anything for two weeks, I reached back out. He was still "waiting for word from the supplier." He said he'd get back to me the next day. Radio silence. I reached out again after two weeks. When I didn't hear anything, I ordered a replacement transformer myself and let him know. I was informed that he was out of the country but would send one of his associates in two weeks on July 8. When the transformer arrived ahead of time, I let him know and he asked if someone could come the next day. Hurrah! Would light return to my kitchen? Nope. Nobody came. I nudged a week later. July 8 came and went, too, and nobody showed. Ronaldo let me know he was still out of the country, but a Hector would visit in two days. I took the day off to be at home -- for a third time -- no Hector. I reached out and haven't heard anything 10 days later. Look, mistakes happen. I was ready to forgive the almost-missed first appointment. Mix-ups happen. But it's now been two whole months and 10 days, with considerable effort and flexibility from me -- and missed appointments in return. Whatever the reasons for the missed appointments or the inability to just hand me off to another electrician, "he seems like a nice guy" is all I've got to show for. Other reviewers here seem to have had better luck, but I've moved on. read more
