I found this spa through Groupon and booked a couple's massage for my partner's birthday. When I initially called to confirm the booking (since I hadn't selected a specific date on Groupon), there seemed to be some confusion about how the Groupon reservation worked. We did end up getting a time on the calendar over the phone. However, on the day of our appointment when we arrived, we were told after going back and forth in person that we didn't actually have anything scheduled. We then had to reschedule on the spot for about an hour and a half later based on their availability, so we left and came back at the new time. When we arrived again, we had the wait for about 20 minutes. The couple's massage setup was not what we expected--we were placed in separate spaces with a curtain between us, whereas in past experiences at other spas, couples massages have always been in the same room. The Groupon also listed four add-ons, but we only received two during the service. The front desk explained that we would receive those add-ons. During the massage, I noticed that she only did two of the add-ons. We didn't argue and just finished the appointment as scheduled. Unfortunately, the massage itself was disappointing for both of us. My massage therapist seemed to focus more on areas that weren't tense and applied pressure in a way that felt more on bone than muscle. I left with soreness rather than relief, and I also developed headaches afterward, which is not typical for me after a massage. My partner also shared that his massage did not feel properly targeted or effective. Another concern was that my massage therapist appeared to be unwell during the session, coughing and heavily breathing throughout. At one point, she had to step out briefly. Shortly after returning home, I began feeling sick with a fever and have been unwell for about a week since. Overall, I left feeling disappointed with the experience and would not return or recommend based on my personal visit.

I'm used to Asian foot massages including a little shoulder rub at least (some give you a partial body massage), but this one was purely just foot. The guy I had was just doing the same motions over and over on my foot for the entire hour. It was hard to give feedback in real time because I kept thinking ok... maybe it'll change after 30 mins -- it didn't! He had good pressure, but my main issue is that he didn't do anything else but rub the arch of my foot! I've had tons of foot massages and they would typically work on my heel, ankle, individual toes, etc. I didn't get any of that. My husband wasn't happy with his massage either. His masseuse didn't apply enough pressure even after repeated requests. When we checked out, we still tipped out of courtesy, but we let the owner know that we were both dissatisfied -- and all she said was, "oh you have to let me know you want someone really good and I will make sure you have a better one next time". So by default, we should expect a sub par experience?? She offered no discounts and happily took our full payment and tip ($140 for two mediocre massages!). There won't be a next time for us.

It started out quietly, but as the massage went on they got louder and continued talking for about 50 of the 60 minutes. My mom and I were the only customers there, so it was very distracting and made it impossible to fully relax. When it was time to pay, they asked for a tip. Even though I was disappointed with the service, I still handed over two $10 bills as a tip. As soon as I did, one of the workers became upset and pointed at the tip chart, making it clear that he expected more. There was a language barrier, so I typed into Google Translate to explain that the reason I wasn't leaving a larger tip was because they had spent nearly the entire massage talking instead of allowing us to enjoy a quiet, relaxing experience. Instead of understanding, he continued pointing at the tip chart. At first, it felt like he wasn't going to let my mom and me leave. Then he started pointing toward the door for us to leave. The entire interaction made us feel extremely uncomfortable and left a bad impression. Looking back, I don't think I should have tipped at all based on both the massage experience and the way we were treated afterward. The reflexology was wonderful and relaxing--the facial and scalp massage are done while your feet soak in a bucket of hot water--but the bodywork is INTENSE. My pain was mostly concentrated between my shoulder blades, and lower back. Like all Asian massages for pain, the process is painful. The therapist used her elbows on the knots in my shoulders. She found and kneaded out areas of tension. The massage finishes up with hot stones and a wipe with a warm towel to remove the oil. I'll admit that I was kind of happy when it was over, lol.
