She had some matting, so we understood that some fur might need to be removed. However, they ended up shaving her down to the skin. As many people know, you should never shave a double-coated dog--it can permanently damage their coat. It took a full year for her fur to grow back, and even now, it's not the same as it was before. Hoping that was just a one-time mistake, we gave them another chance last week for a light summer trim. This time, she was not matted at all. I specifically explained our previous experience and clearly told the technician not to shave her. Unfortunately, when I picked her up, she had been shaved again--not to the skin like last visit but still very very short. At this point, it's hard to see this as anything but a lack of understanding or care when it comes to proper grooming for double-coated breeds. We won't be returning, and I would strongly caution other pet owners--especially those with similar breeds--to think twice before using this grooming service.

From different levels of boarding (the highest tier even includes a special tuck-in and Kong treat!) to dog training, bathing, nail trimming, and their fully engaging playrooms, complete with Dog TV, play structures, bubbles, pool days, and themed activities, it's clear they go above and beyond to make every stay fun and enriching. They even include webcams for us parents to check in on them from time to time! Our doggie Herkules absolutely LOVES his Dogtime family. Everest was diagnosed with a medial luxating patella and underwent a tibial tuberosity transposition (TTT) with groove deepening. We've been bringing our Princess here for a few years now. Mostly overnight visits, but a couple of…read morelong stays when we were on 21 and 25 day trips. She happily wags her tail when she arrives and just as happily wags when leaving. Many of the staff members recognize her and know her name. We think she's comfortable with staff and gets plenty of attention. I think that it also helps that we pay for daily playtime. When we arrive, we bring one of her "donut" beds, some "fresh" food and some kibble along with her favorite toy. On longer stays, we also give her one of my worn t-shirts, so she doesn't forget who we are. We often see her picture taken during playtime on the Dublin Creek Kennel website. Unlike some kennels where all the dogs run in packs based on size and temperament, dogs here only run together if they're from the same family.
