I was staying at the Kauai Beach Hostel and just down the boardwalk I saw this cool tent with a sign that said Elevate Wellness massages on the beach. I spoke briefly to the young lady there and she had Kelly the owner contact me. Kelly arranged for me a 90 minute massage for the following day with Ricky. I have been having trouble with my low back and neck, making it painful to walk about this beautiful island. I can honestly say it was the best massage I have ever had. I'm 68 years old and it has been difficult for me to find a good match...not too soft but not too hard to cause bruising or soreness. Well, I was a little tender the rest of the day but by the next day was was able to walk down town, along the beach on the sand, without discomfort. I just had my second massage with Ricky and it was even better than the first. So if you are in the area of Kapaa, and are wanting a massage, give Kerry a call at Elevate Wellness. I found out about this spot just browsing through Yelp and thought to give it a shot based on all the reviews. I set up an appointment for my mom as an early Christmas present as she's been dying for a massage. She came out so relaxed and she enjoyed every bit of it. She noted it as the best massage she's ever had and this woman is so hard to please when it comes to massages. She said that she had fallen asleep on the table since it felt so nice and she was happy that her lower back and legs were finally at ease given those two were the body parts giving her the most trouble. Scheduling wise was such a breeze. I didn't have a set schedule of how to go about things during my stay here on Kauai so I booked this appointment pretty last minute, a couple days before actually. Angela was a total sweetheart and explained things thoroughly. She was very professional in the manner that she spoke and she got back to me rather quickly. Price wise, I definitely am fine with. It's worth the price according to my mom and it's actually about on par to the place my mom goes to normally when we're back home in Seattle. We had recently come off the trail from Kalalau and were in dire need of some TLC. Angela and her colleague set us up in their beautiful bungalow on the beach, where they have beachside massages on M/W/F. She rents space from the park and the bungalow is the most relaxing setting I've ever had a treatment. Mere steps from the beach and shielded from the elements, I couldn't think of a better arrangement. Apparently other massage services who claim beachside massage treatment do so illegally, not to mention, it doesn't take long to realize that it rains often and suddenly in Kauai... So if you want a beach massage, go to Angela at Elevate Health! The massage itself was terrific and Angela and her partner were extremely communicative and able to focus in on our problem areas. Amazing, and absolute best, way to start a fresh Hawaiian day! We booked this massage as a little treat after we finished all of our hiking/active adventures on the island. Boy, did we feel heavenly after this. Pure bliss, relaxation and almost felt like we were floating. Highest honors to David, who was my therapist. His firmness level did not stray for one second. He got every muscle from head to toe (face, head, hands, etc.). He even noticed my nose was a bit clogged and massaged my face with eucalyptus oil. Calming music and beach background was amazing. Everyone on the team was super helpful, calming and extremely nice. Definitely satisfied and would love to do this every week if I could! Additional comments/considerations: The only minor thing was next door, there was a gardener doing yard work, so we could hear him the first 10 minutes with his loud weed wacker. Sorta wish the location was a bit more intimate/isolated/beachside. When you think, "beachside", you're under the impression that you will be literally on the beach, this is not the case. You are in the back of a hotel, in a cabana on grass. The beach is across a pedestrian path and yards away. At times, you can even hear people riding their bikes by and what not. The chickens I can deal with, the gardening and people/kids walking by not so much. Regardless, the people were so nice and the massage was the best i've had, so keeping it 5 stars. Thanks guys! Excellent massage therapist however be mindful that the beachside massage is on the grounds of a third party hotel and unfortunately the ambience is not under their control. We upgraded our massage to beachside hoping to hear soothing crashing beach waves, you also hear them however the hotel is on the main road and depending on the time of the day, you can hear traffic, horns, constant yelling from kids playing in the yard, we also heard loud drilling and hammering being done at the hotel and of course it's Kauai so you hear constant roosters going off. Point is half of the massage experience is great the other half not so much. Might wanna either choose for indoor massage at their studio or pay extra at a resort where ambience is controlled. read more
