Shakira is an amazing healer. Her kind, calming energy/spirit are matched by her skillful touch and ability to quickly tune in on what's going on in your body. She was able to cover every muscle I could have wanted and very effectively. I was having some numbness in my toes that she quickly connected with an issue in my neck. Several days later, I'm still benefitting from the massage. Cute studio, no frills but a perfect space for a restorative massage. Shakira packs a ton of awesome massage power into a petite package that has to be experienced 1st hand to be believed. I travel a lot and also enjoy tennis - 8 Ortho surgeries & counting. So, I need regular massages & love getting them in new places when I travel. Got this referral for a "local" who could come to our condo in Poipu in South Kauai and give a massage to both my wife and myself. I was expecting the usual "good" massage and that's about how it started for the first minute or so. Then the magic fingers of Shakira began to work on all my tied up and tender spots in my back & right shoulder (3 surgeries total in those areas) without me even having to say anything or direct her. She just finds those areas (like a truffle-pig to its prize) then does not overdo it avoiding the bruising pain that other therapists often inflict on me. She just found what I needed & gave it to me where I needed. Full stretches I've never had (maybe 100 massages in my life). Then the long lomi-lomi forearm work to smooth it all down. How do you rate somebody when you've had a handful of massages in a long life you thought were great & rated at 10/10 and now here's somebody who is clearly way beyond that? Yep - Shakira.
