This company is horrible. I got stuck with their warranty when purchasing a new home. 1 month later the hot water heater went out and I had water pouring into the hallway and our daughters bedroom. I got on their website and our plan info was incorrect and there was no way to file a claim. I had to find my own emergency plumber (recommendation of the water remediation team) to come and replace the water heater. This company refuses to pay reimbursement. I have called and asked for a manager 3 times and they say they will have them call me. NO ONE EVER CALLS. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with Elevate Home Subscriptions. As part of my home purchase in November 2023, the sellers provided a home warranty through Elevate Home Subscriptions. The only time I attempted to use the warranty was when my sump pump failed. I entered my credit card to pay the service fee for someone to come out and assess the issue. Elevate ultimately did not cover the sump pump repair, and I did not argue with them about that decision. What I do have a serious issue with is what happened afterward. Elevate Home Subscriptions used the credit card I entered for that one-time service assessment fee to renew the warranty policy for the next two years. That credit card was never provided for the purpose of purchasing or renewing a home warranty subscription. It was only provided for a single service call fee related to the sump pump issue. When I discovered the charges and requested a refund, the company refused. In my opinion, using a customer's card for recurring renewals when the card was only provided for a one-time service fee is extremely questionable and reflects very concerning business practices. I also found it very difficult to identify or contact anyone in the company's management chain, which only added to my concerns about transparency and accountability. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Elevate Home Subscriptions. Customers should be very careful before providing payment information to this company and should closely monitor any credit card charges afterward. read more

My realtor recommended this company for my home warranty, but it's a total scam. Less than 2 months after moving into my new home, the washing machine stopped working. I went to Elevate's website to schedule a service and was charged $75 for a tech to come out, which is not much less than what I would have ended up paying for the repair out of pocket. The tech supposedly fixed the issue, but the washer started having the same problem less than 3 months later. I tried to call Elevate about this, but got an obnoxious AI that told me that I'd have to pay for a new service call because it was more than 30 days since the original repair, which is a joke. It really should be at least 90 days. My realtor will also be hearing from me about how terrrible this company is. I don't want other people getting scammed by them. read more

I have never dealt with a warranty company that looked so hard for reasons NOT to cover a claim. My furnace issue turned into a complete nightmare. The technician they sent out clearly did not know what he was doing, charged the warranty company over $400 for essentially accomplishing nothing, and somehow that cost was pushed onto me when I tried to cancel. Since Elevate already had my money, they refused to refund me and showed zero accountability for the situation. As a realtor, I work with homeowners constantly and have seen many warranty companies over the years -- this has been by far one of the worst experiences I've seen. I really don't think I have anything but good to say about Elevate. We have had a home warranty through them since we bought our home in 2021 and have utilized the warranty many times. We've had dishwasher repairs, multiple electrical repairs for different parts of the house, washer/dryer repairs (as well as replacements), HVAC servicing and repairs, etc. We've also used the carpet cleaning service. Every single contractor has been timely, professional, and knowledgeable, and many (if not most) have gone above and beyond. I also love that I don't have to spend my time "shopping around" for every single home need we may have. I trust Elevate to have already done that for me and so far it's always proven true. read more

Elevate Homescriptions unfortunately came with my home purchase, if I could get a refund I'd donate it to a worthwhile Charity. After reviewing the coverages I was surprised at the amounts and all the limitations, it has UPSELL written all over it. The lowest cost repairs have the highest coverage limits while the highest cost repairs have the lowest, example $2000 to change out a waste disposer and $500 for a slab leak repair, really? And their services? $99 service fee, sounds reasonable for a service call until you read the fine print and learn what the limitations are, Example, they will only clean the exterior of your windows and it must be a single story, and without panes or stains or overspray, all that's extra, and you wonder why they promote their warranty claims and services so much. But the biggest issue for me is, we don't get to choose the contractor, they do that, they introduce a 3rd party into your repair, someone you don't know and assume they vetted, And you don't know how good of work they do, one bad plumbing connection can flood your entire home, we can't read any reviews because we don't know who's showing up at our door. For $600, I'm willing to lose that and choose my own contractor, cutting out the middle man and all the upselling that goes with it. read more

Every time we have tried using Elevate Home warranty they have found reason to not cover our claim. The latest is during a heat wave they wouldn't help us because they said our air filters were dirty. We had just changed them out . They obviously didn't want to do the job because they said it would be 30 to 90 days to get the part to repair the issue. I would highly recommend using another company for your home warranty. BUYER BEWARE! We filed a claim a week ago as we had problems with our tankless hot water heater. Elevate contacted a local plumber who came out and diagnosed the problem as a control board failure. It is a week since we filed the claim and we are still without a part or any hot water. Both Elevate and the local plumber did a very poor job of coordinating this effort, despite daily calls on our behalf. Elevate customer service was very poor and they did not follow up as promised throughout the week. We had to initiate daily calls to get updates. We finally had a representative call and let us know the part was approved and they could ship it by end of week. We told them we contacted another plumber and settled for a monetary reimbursement. This really means little as we continue to be out of hot water and will have to pay another plumber to fix it correctly. Very disappointing. Would not recommend this warranty. read more

Well, we know an older man lived in this house before us so there is every possibility that this IS normal wear and tear for older people who take up more room on the toilet. I don't know how it broke but it's "normal" so far as I can tell. IT SHOULD have been COVERED. That is really what he is arguing is what is "normal" wear and tear. SOOO STUPID. THEN he wanted to say that it's a structural part of the house like the walls. UM NO!! What a hoax what a scam. Don't buy from them!!! Just don't do it! They will take your $500 and cover nothing. We are new to Elevate Homescriptions. Soon after moving into our new home the AC to one of the floors stopped working. Initially Elevate required us to prove that the A/C was working when we bought the house. After several weeks in the heat, they sent someone out. Then 2 days after the A/C contractor came they called and let us know we would need to approve an $800 work fee before they would redispatch the contractor to repair the A/C. They explained that they will cover the cost of replacing the compressor, but to have the compressor installed it requires modifications that they do not cover so we would have to agree to pay for the modifications so that the compressor can be installed. I asked them to explain how we would be responsible to pay for modifications so they could make a covered repair. Elevate referred me to the "Limitations of Liability" section of the contract and stated they do not cover "modifications". We have the 'Totally Elevated' Plan. We have spent a couple of weeks in the heat, and do not have a projected time for when the covered A/C will be repaired. We have found the company to be difficult to interact with, they work hard to delay and not have to cover items they claim to cover and they will charge you for aspects of the repairs and call them modifications, even though the repair cannot be completed, and their contract honored without the 'modifications'. It feels like we were given a bad recommendation by our real estate agent when we purchased our home and were recommended to get coverage with Elevate. I would consider other options and maybe go with a larger national company. We had American Home Shield in the state we moved from and we never had this issue or the upcharges. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I moved here from another state where I was using American Home Shield and had nothing but good luck with them. We own several rentals so we have used AHS in several homes over the years with nothing but good luck but I trusted my Real Estate agent here when she told me American Home Shield was not good here in Utah and she talked me into using Elevate. That was one of the worst mistakes I have ever made. I have come to think she must have some connection to Elevate that would cause her to violate my trust this way. Right after moving into my home, the microwave broke. I called Elevate. They came out and said they were going to send me a check for a little over $200. which would not begin to cover the cost of a comparable microwave and they would not install it. (American Home Shield has replaced a washer and dryer and garbage disposal for me in the past when they were not fixable so that is what I expected) Instead, Elevate said they do not do that. It is up to the customer to find and purchase the product as well as to find and pay separately for an installer and the amount they offer you is nowhere near what it will actually cost you. I could not believe what I was hearing. I had a 2-year contract with them so told them I wanted to cancel all the remaining months, this was less than a month after I moved in. They said it is in their contract that they will only refund a portion of it. In the end, I lost several hundred dollars because I foolishly trusted my real estate agent and signed on with this hack of a company. I went back to American Home Shield and they are wonderful. So far over several months, they have fixed a burned-out heater and a refrigerator that completely stopped working. They sent out excellent, competent workers who took their time and fixed the problems right away. I am as happy with American Home Shield as I have been in the years past in my other homes. I don't usually write negative reviews but I wanted to make sure I save anyone else who may be looking from this nightmare. Our water heater went out and Elevate said we had to wait 2-3 days for a plumber to come. The plumber they had assigned had really bad reviews. So I requested to have someone different come sooner. We are a family of 8 and need hot water sooner, not to mention the flood that it caused in our basement. They did have a plumber come sooner. Elevate denied covering the damages incurred by the broken water heater saying that they would only cover the water heater repair/ replacement, if needed for up to $2000. The plumber confirmed that it could not be fixed, and needed to be replaced. That was day 2. They did not approve to replace it for another 24 hours. By the time they agreed to replace it. They only agreed to purchase the least expensive water heater (AO Smith) that wasn't matched to what we currently had, (Rheem). Upon receiving the water heater, it malfunctioned and the pilot light would not light up. They worked on it the entire day. They were in the house on and off from 9 AM until 8:30 PM and even after replacing parts could not get it to work. Finally after another 24 hours Elevate agreed to replace it, but only with the same brand that was malfunctioning and still not with the brand that we had. They were even told that at least 10% of that brand AO Smith have the pilot light issue, but still did not want to replace it with a better product or the one we had. At this point, they informed me that I had met my $2000 limit. They informed me that I would be financially responsible for any other expenses from labor or parts from then on out. After four days of not having hot water, I was literally told by Blake the manger that they would just leave the water heater at my house and I could install it myself unless I was willing to pay the difference. Also, our microwave died the same weekend and they told the repair man to spend more money on parts to fix it than to just replace it. It has been three days and the microwave hasn't been fixed nor replaced. read more

The pilot light still will not stay on despite a brand new one, three plumbing companies and two HVAC. Dominion energy has even came out to check the levels and they are all normal. I have missed a lot of work meeting new companies as they try and determine what the problem is, just by staring at it. This has been going on for several months now and I am beyond frustrated. Elevate is the poster child of a penny-pinching predatory insurance agency. When my water heater broke in late fall, I filed a service request. They proceeded to spend a week and a half dragging their feet, ignoring me, and telling me to try calling other people to get help. They will do anything to wiggle out of spending a penny on you. I just needed a single part of my water heater replaced- an incredibly simple task. They found every excuse to not fix it and ultimately I ended up needing to get a new water heater, for which they would only pay a portion. I was never offered a single apology for the horrible experience or any explanation that made any sense. I've been on a wild goose chase for weeks and I am still taking freezing cold showers. Their customer service representatives are snotty and irritable, and their higher-ups will do anything to spin the story to make themselves look like the good guys. At every step of the way, someone from this godless company was telling me sweet lies about how they were going "above and beyond" what they are obligated to do. If they aren't obligated to fix my stuff, why the hell do I have a warranty? Do NOT go with this slimey company. read more

My real estate agent provided us with a home warranty from this company for our new house is St. George, Utah. After moving in we encountered several items that needed attention. We called an requested service. The first was for a pond in the backyard. We were told that it was not covered because it was not part of the main house. I took that one. Second time I reported the ice maker was sounding very strange. They told me to keep an eye on it but as long as it was working, they would not cover it. OK, took that one too. Third time the tank on the back of the toilet broke.. Cracked all the way through and water was every where. The warranty company sent out a service person to take a look. He was told they would not cover the item because it was not due to normal wear and tear. It met the criteria 1.located within the house 2. Had been properly installed 3. BUYER BEWARE! This company will try to kill you with kindness, but ultimately won't cover much outside of a few established issues. Their warranty reads as if they're willing to work with you, but once you attempt to have claims serviced the truth becomes pretty apparent. Pre-existing conditions are always tricky to cover for insurance companies. When you buy a home, especially an older one, you're going to run into issues you didn't know about at time of purchase pretty quickly. Most home warranty companies will clearly state that pre-existing conditions aren't covered in your warranty. Not Elevate. Their warranty clearly states, "This Service Contract does not cover defects or mechanical failures known prior to the date of coverage. We DO provide coverage for unknown pre-existing conditions as long as the condition would not have been detectable through a simple visual inspection or mechanical test by the Seller, Buyer, or Agents." My home was built in the 70s, so anticipating that I would run into issues, I purchased a warranty from Elevate. However, I've now had two issues not covered that were pre-existing but unknown to me and not detectable with a simple test (as stated). My attempts to negotiate and point out the text of the warranty were met with excuses and repetitive "I'm sorry but unfortunately we just don't cover that issue". I'm very disappointed with my experience and feel there is a subtle lack of integrity in the discrepancy between Elevate's written policy and executed policy. Don't expect much of what might go wrong with your home to be covered with an Elevate policy. read more

We have had mixed results with Elevate. We were pleased with their re-keying service for our home. However, we were not as pleased with their service on other occasions. First, when the AC unit developed problems and stopped blowing cold air, Elevate said that a contractor with Admiral Plumbing would be out to assess the situation the following day. Because this was the hottest part of the summer and there were four children in the home, including a newborn baby, we called another plumbing company, Best Heating and Air, who sent a serviceman that same day. He recharged the unit with more coolant but advised us that because the coils were leaking coolant in multiple places throughout the unit, it likely would not last for even another day. By 9 a.m. the following day, the AC was blowing hot air again. About 9:30, a serviceman from Admiral Plumbing arrived. He wouldn't tell us what his assessment of the unit was, only that he would get back to Elevate, who would then get back to us. Elevate did not respond for another ten days, at which time we received a voicemail from a woman at Elevate who stated that the Admiral Plumbing technician had reported leaks, but leak repair wasn't covered under our warranty. But if repairing the leaks didn't work, we could look into replacing the entire unit. Meanwhile, with temperatures outside approaching 100 degrees, inside the house it was an oven, even with a portable window unit. With young children in the home, including the newborn, this was totally unacceptable. We got additional assessments, who agreed that because of the number of leaks and the aggressive nature of them, replacement was the best option. So two days after Admiral Plumbing's visit, we had Best Heating and Air replace the AC unit, at a cost of $3,800. This was over a week before Elevate followed up with the Admiral Plumbing technician's report. We didn't even bother to reply to Elevate's very delayed response when we received it, because it was so nearly laughably frustrating: we had tried the Freon replacement option, and it had not worked, so Elevate should have covered the replacement. We understand that good business dictates first trying the least expensive option, but good business should also dictate promptness and good communication, both in getting a technician out to assess the problem in the first place, and also in following up. After we complained to Elevate, cc'ing our realtor, Elevate did apologize and partially reimbursed us for the cost of the AC unit, up to the cost of what they would have paid for a unit, even though reimbursement is not something they generally do. We later had a problem with a small amount of water leaking onto a kitchen window sill, and when Elevate sent out a plumber from Admiral Plumbing, he didn't even bother to check for possible drips from plumbing upstairs, or behind the rather large access panel near the kitchen window sill to access whether he could see any problems there; he merely indicated that he couldn't tell if it was a plumbing problem (covered) or a problem originating from an outside water source (not covered). And then he left. Frustrated, we had another company come do a check, and they were thorough in accessing the problem, checking every possible inside source before determining that the leak came from outside the house. Perhaps Elevate needs to find another plumbing company to work with. But bottom line, Elevate's reputation is affected by their subcontractors. read more

They don't tell you this prior to signing up, but unlike the majority of other Warranty companies, they want a copy of your home inspection and they don't tell you this til you have signed up. It's just the lack of transparency that they don't tell you til after.. Second, they may just cancel you if you don't call them to "activate" your home warranty. None of these issues are told to you when you sign up. I canceled with them within days of purchasing the home and they informed me it had been randomly canceled. Really? Ok.. Also, watch their pricing. To me $1000 for basic coverage is a lot and there are a ton of add ons which makes them quite expensive. I'd highly recommend pretty much anyone else. I have had 4 service calls with elevate home warranty. Each time they either send the wrong professional (an electrician when my furnace went out for example) or find a way to say the customer broke it and it's not covered. In fact, they sent a plumber to my house that broke a faucet, then told me they couldn't fix it and that it was "installed incorrectly" so it wasn't covered. Shut off my water and left. I had to pay another plumber who came in and immediately proved it was not installed incorrectly and showed me what the other plumbers did wrong. Weeks later I am still fighting elevate to get my money back and they won't let me out of my contract. DO NOT WORK WITH THEM. Any hour is a much better company and had a care plan that covers more for 1/3 the price and they have been amazing every time. Skip the warranty. read more

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I've had this policy for almost a year and they basically find any reason they can to not cover stuff. Go with someone else! If you care to read it, below is an accounting of my interactions with them: update as of 03/25/2020: I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. I have had this warranty company now for almost a year. I have had to fight for them to cover stuff multiple times and they look for any excuse to not cover stuff. About a month ago now, our fridge had a significant electrical issue. One of the control boards on the top burned out and could have possibly started a house fire. I will at least give Elevate credit for helping find an appliance company to respond right away. To make a long story short, it ended up being the water dispenser control board that burnt out. As a result, there were other electrical issues that have resulted in the need for the main control board and the whole door assembly to be replaced. Because of this, Elevate won't cover anything for it. According to their people, "they don't cover water dispensers and all of the other issues are secondary damage to it because of the dispenser so we won't cover anything." Now, I'm left with a absolutely useless fridge that we can't use and they won't help contribute anything other than a refund of the service call fee to help replace it. This has been one of the most frustrating and useless warranty policies I've ever dealt with. Again, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. As of 6/14/19: Update to negative review left below. Elevate contacted me about the review and stated that they wanted to try and make things right to not leave me out to dry. They said they would pay for the service call to have a plumber come out and look at the pressure regulator. Their plumber through JMBP plumbing. The guy came and saw that it actually needed to be replaced. I appreciate the home warranty picking this up. What I don't appreciate, is the service by JMBP plumbing. The plumber told me they would have to cut into my wall more in order to have adequate access to replace the regulator. I gave permission for this to happen. They stated that it would cost $100 (out of my pocket) to cut the access needed to do it, I felt it was needed, so I again gave permission. I came home to look at it and they literally only had to cut maybe an 18 inches tall and 18 inches wide spot above the valve. NO WAY that should have been $100. I am glad Elevate picked up the cost of the plumber to come out, but they might want to better consider who they have as a plumbing provider if a 18X18 inch cut is going to cost $100. EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and they look for ANY EXCUSE TO NOT COVER ANYTHING. I WOULD NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!I have had a very poor experience with them. They won't cover things noted on the home warranty that are concerning, especially plumbing issues. Our inspector caught that the pressure regulator was too high and would need to be adjusted. I called to make a claim. They told me they wouldn't cover it, or other code upgrades (WHICH I PAID FOR!!!!!) for the plumbing because it was noted in the home inspection.
