Today we went in for a quick haircut with Steven. We made a RSVP so we were first for the day. They were expecting us and had us in the chair at exactly 10:00 and out by 10:30. We were given $5 off the haircut because it was his first haircut at that location. I had a hair cut here once, the quality is just average. I knew about the wait without appointment, so I don't complain about the wait. What is bothering me is the fact that all of the barbers are just taking too much, to each other. So it really takes considerably longer for a barber to finish a cut. Besides, I want my barber to pay attention cutting my hair, and not having constant divided attention discussing about the movie being played. Another suggestion for the barbers is to greet your guests and let them know how long the wait is going to be. read more

I was looking for fresh and modern cut for my hair yesterday and I looked at the numerous barbershops within my surrounding area. What caught my eye with Elevate Barbershops was the amount of raving and positive reviews that Elevate was receiving. In addition, its location is relatively close by my house and its hours go a little past working hours so if need be I could get my hair cut after work! Great plus and they take appointments too but be sure to call as they can get busy. Entering Elevate, I noticed how nice the environment was. I was greeted by my barber Jon and told him the hairstyle I was looking for. Jon knew exactly what to do and my hair came out looking amazing! He was very thorough and walked me through what he was going to do, so I was sure I wouldn't come out with a bad cut. The shop really lives up to it's potential and the level of skill here is highlighted through each and every cut. As for my cut, I am happy that Jon did such a great job. Came to Elevate last week for a haircut and couldn't be more happier! When I came into the barbershop, I was greeted by the three barbers there. The decor had a nice modern look and the music bumpin' in the background was giving me good vibes. I was looking to change up my hairstyle, and decided to get the "Justin Timberlake" hairstyle (not the NSYNC curly hair monstrosity, but the GQish looking JT). I showed my barber, Jon, a picture of what I wanted and he nailed it! Jon's a really great guy and made me feel comfortable throughout my haircut. I definitely recommend him. The vibe here is lit! Good music, or cool movie running, hospitable customer service, chill vibes! Whatever your cut is, they got your back to make sure you get what you pay for. They only take cash, so be prepared to stop by an ATM. One time I forgot to bring cash, I thought they took card, but they were accommodating and trusting enough to let me go get the cash and come back!! 5 stars isn't enough (: The cost of a haircut ranges from $20 for WALK IN and $25 for APPOINTMENT and with a cut and wash, it may be a bit more but definitely worth it. Josh aka Steez is that dude. I've been going to my barber for a little over 13 years and I recently moved to Alhambra in 2015. I was driving back and fourth between here and Covina just to go to my barber and I eventually got sick of the commute. Found out about Steeze from all the great Yelp reviews when he was originally at Popular Demand but I was still reluctant to switch. Checked out his Instagram (@steezcuts) and it gave me more confidence that I was in good hands if I needed to make a switch. Steez is extremely professional and takes his time with every cut. His attention to detail is amazing and he doesn't cut any corners when it comes to getting his clients just right. Since going to him I literally go once a week to get my haircut. I am a little disappointed I didn't go sooner because he's a cut above the rest (no pun intended). One thing I will also say if you're trying to get a haircut cut, make sure you book ahead of time (preferably weekdays) because he rarely has time for walk-ins as his days are always booked. Was looking for a good barber in Alhambra for a while. Finally, I came across Elevate Barbershop and got my hair cut by Omar. I have been going to Omar now for a minute and I don't intend on going anywhere else. He's professional, offers great customer service and always delivers a fresh cut. Also, the shop itself is very well kept up and there's also plenty of parking. I recommend Omar to anyone that's in the San Gabriel Valley area looking for a solid barber. This place charge cheaper but does an okay job. I sent my partner here to get his haircut and his beard line up and since this place has 4.5 star rating, we had high expectation for this establishment. I am giving this place a 1 star and would most definitely not going back here again just because of the quality of work was mediocre and looks like my partner could have just done the haircut himself. I am not sure if its because the haircut and beard deal was $25 so thats why they did not put enough effort. I think they should improve their service and give everyone 101% and not base it on the amount they are charging. Elevate is the truth. Being that I'm very particular about my hair, as well as having "brotha" hair that not just anyone can cut, my options for barbers are slim. My regular barber was out of town for an extended period of time, and I needed a haircut for an interview so I hit up Yelp to see what else was out there. I came to Elevate off of the strength of the reviews, and my experience EXCEEDED my already high expectations. I booked online (super easy.. Think of Uber) with Giselle, who proceeded to give me the best cut I've gotten in recent memory.. Razor sharp lines, great taper and she was FAST, yet it never felt like she was rushing. Stopped by Elevate yesterday afternoon for an appointment with Giselle and I must say, I've never gotten so many compliments on my haircut in a single 24 hour period. She seriously hooked up it!! I normally keep it super simple with my hair cuts: number 2 all the way around (against the grain), line up in the front and back, square with the sideburns. When I came into Elevate though I decided I was going to put my barber to the test and told her to "have fun with it". She still started with a number 2 all the way around but the gave me a low taper on the sides and in the back. I've never had a fade so clean. I took a chance and Giselle took care of me. I know I can trust her without any hesitation now. After the hair cut she offered to trim my facial hair (or lack thereof; I've got a bit of a baby face). I wasn't convinced she'd be able to do much with my sad excuse for a chin strap, but by the time she was done I couldn't believe how sharp it looked. I had a date right after I got my hair cut and it was the first thing she commented on when she saw me. I seriously can't speak highly enough of Elevate and their barbers! read more
