Came to Elevate last week for a haircut and couldn't be more happier! When I came into the barbershop, I was greeted by the three barbers there. The decor had a nice modern look and the music bumpin' in the background was giving me good vibes. I was looking to change up my hairstyle, and decided to get the "Justin Timberlake" hairstyle (not the NSYNC curly hair monstrosity, but the GQish looking JT). I showed my barber, Jon, a picture of what I wanted and he nailed it! Jon's a really great guy and made me feel comfortable throughout my haircut. I definitely recommend him. Thanks man, I'll def be back! read more

Josh aka Steez is that dude. I've been going to my barber for a little over 13 years and I recently moved to Alhambra in 2015. I was driving back and fourth between here and Covina just to go to my barber and I eventually got sick of the commute. Found out about Steeze from all the great Yelp reviews when he was originally at Popular Demand but I was still reluctant to switch. Checked out his Instagram (@steezcuts) and it gave me more confidence that I was in good hands if I needed to make a switch. Steez is extremely professional and takes his time with every cut. His attention to detail is amazing and he doesn't cut any corners when it comes to getting his clients just right. Since going to him I literally go once a week to get my haircut. I am a little disappointed I didn't go sooner because he's a cut above the rest (no pun intended). One thing I will also say if you're trying to get a haircut cut, make sure you book ahead of time (preferably weekdays) because he rarely has time for walk-ins as his days are always booked. Thank me later. read more

I think I found my go-to barber shop. Jon did a great job with my cut and for once I really felt satisfied with how my hair turned out. What else can I say, it's definitely the place to go to. Especially in the 626 area, where many salons/barber shops are the older generation, I searched around for quite some time. I highly recommend giving this place a try. read more

Great barber shop! Their customer service, is more than perfect. My son was extremely happy with his fresh cut that Jon Cruz provided. Hands down has to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest in Alhambra! Thank you Guys!!! read more

Today we went in for a quick haircut with Steven. We made a RSVP so we were first for the day. They were expecting us and had us in the chair at exactly 10:00 and out by 10:30. We were given $5 off the haircut because it was his first haircut at that location. I would suggest making a RSVP because a couple of guys tried to do a walk-in appt but all of the stylist were booked for the entire day. read more

Gave this place 2 tries. Both failed my expectations. Not that the cut is bad for the price, it's just the experience. Here are my thoughts. 1. Profanity profanity profanity. The staff does not watch their language around customers. 2. Staff talks to each other all the time. Taking a few seconds to blur out profanity and random comments adds up real quick where you find yourself asking why am I sitting in this chair listening to nonsense. 3. Apt is more expensive than walk-ins. 4. No system in place for customers, just a gent in the front tell you to take a seat. Odd that they have an online apt system well put together but they don't take full advantage of it. If you enjoy all of that, go for it. It's a decent cut for the price. I just couldn't stand the lack of professionalism from the staff. read more

I just went for the first time to Elevate and am so happy I did! I've been reading all the great Yelp reviews for a while and felt I needed a change from my usual hair salon. I've been trying to rock the prohibition style for a while but my old hair stylist couldn't quite get it right. It would come out more military flat top. I booked online and chose Jon based on the positive reviews. Let me tell you, he didn't disappoint! He asked what I was looking for and went right to work. The whole shop was busy and fun. I had great conversation with Jon. The rest of the crew were talking it up with their clients and each other. It seems like a great atmosphere and they have a lot of fun. Jon did an awesome job and gave me the exact haircut I've been wanting! Now he's got a client for life! read more

I had a hair cut here once, the quality is just average. I knew about the wait without appointment, so I don't complain about the wait. What is bothering me is the fact that all of the barbers are just taking too much, to each other. So it really takes considerably longer for a barber to finish a cut. Besides, I want my barber to pay attention cutting my hair, and not having constant divided attention discussing about the movie being played. Another suggestion for the barbers is to greet your guests and let them know how long the wait is going to be. read more

I got a great cut with my buddy Biggie this past weekend. It was super easy, I used the Elevate mobile site and booked my appointment, when I walked in, I immediately sat down and Biggie asked me how I wanted to get my haircut. Make sure to stop on in for a line up or a cut. The staff is great and they use technology to make your life easier! read more

I was looking for fresh and modern cut for my hair yesterday and I looked at the numerous barbershops within my surrounding area. What caught my eye with Elevate Barbershops was the amount of raving and positive reviews that Elevate was receiving. In addition, its location is relatively close by my house and its hours go a little past working hours so if need be I could get my hair cut after work! Great plus and they take appointments too but be sure to call as they can get busy. Entering Elevate, I noticed how nice the environment was. I was greeted by my barber Jon and told him the hairstyle I was looking for. Jon knew exactly what to do and my hair came out looking amazing! He was very thorough and walked me through what he was going to do, so I was sure I wouldn't come out with a bad cut. The shop really lives up to it's potential and the level of skill here is highlighted through each and every cut. As for my cut, I am happy that Jon did such a great job. I'll be coming back in the future! read more

Very chill environment. Steven gave me a great cut and was knowledgeable at his craft. Definitely coming back

I needed a place that could take reservations 'cause there ain't no way I can make it...doowwnn *Chris Brown voice* to the area on time from downtown during rush hour. In that regard, Elevate takes the barbershop game to the next level with a simple and intuitive online way to book appointments. Check out the link in their Yelp business page and you'll see exactly what I mean. Businesses take note, 'cause Elevate is doing it right. Shoutssss to my barber Jon Cruz. The kid is going places ...or rather just standing behind you when you're in the chair... with his barbering skills and he's always responsive and flexible if you're going to be late or need to reschedule. He knows what he's doing and could offer you advice on what cuts would work better for you (he ain't a stylist but if you insist on him being one, be sure to tip him as you would tip a $TYLI$T). I know, because I asked him how I should keep my hair when I got my first cut with him. He's perfect for you guys who are stepping out into the sunlight for the first time and don't know what the hell a good haircut is. Jk that's pretty mean but YEA, he's real patient and understanding of your needs so don't hesitate to come get your hair cut with him or any of the barbers at Elevate. Ask him about the OKC Thunder thooooo. Poor guy's team lost KD to the Warriors and Westbrook to the Lakers (wait, what?). Check this place out. You won't be disappointed. Go Lakers! read more

Elevate is the truth. Being that I'm very particular about my hair, as well as having "brotha" hair that not just anyone can cut, my options for barbers are slim. My regular barber was out of town for an extended period of time, and I needed a haircut for an interview so I hit up Yelp to see what else was out there. I came to Elevate off of the strength of the reviews, and my experience EXCEEDED my already high expectations. I booked online (super easy.. Think of Uber) with Giselle, who proceeded to give me the best cut I've gotten in recent memory.. Razor sharp lines, great taper and she was FAST, yet it never felt like she was rushing. The shop was clean there was plenty of parking and the wait was short. I will most definitely be back. read more

The vibe here is lit! Good music, or cool movie running, hospitable customer service, chill vibes! Whatever your cut is, they got your back to make sure you get what you pay for. They only take cash, so be prepared to stop by an ATM. One time I forgot to bring cash, I thought they took card, but they were accommodating and trusting enough to let me go get the cash and come back!! 5 stars isn't enough (: The cost of a haircut ranges from $20 for WALK IN and $25 for APPOINTMENT and with a cut and wash, it may be a bit more but definitely worth it. My overall experience from frequenting the place a few times is chill and will continue to check in for future fresh cuts! read more

Here again for my boyfriend's haircut. The first time we came here we were a bit wary-- well more so my boyfriend because he doesn't like getting his hair cut at all. But we are so glad we took a chance with this place-- not only is this place hip as f, Biggie really knows his stuff. His hair cut was the best that he has ever gotten and he loves it and wants to actually go back to get his hair cut! And so we're here again! And I brought my brother too, lol that's how much I love this place too. Plus, they are playing new Star Wars here for the people waiting. Awesomeeee!!!!!!!! read more

This one goes out to Jon! You're the bestttt I swear! Stopped in to Elevate with one of my boys who lives in Santa Monica, but comes all the way out here to get cut by Jon. If that doesn't speak to the amazing customer service and skills of the guys who work here, I'm not sure what else will. Totally worth the drive! I love how the shop feels like more of a trendy LA boutique rather than your every day barbershop. Plus on a hot day like today the A/C blasting made it feel like heaven. I think I'll tag along and bring my brother here next! Keep up the amazing service guys! You'll have every guy in LA looking fresh for sure! read more

First time experience at a barber shop. Mario took care of me. He made me look better and taught me how to look good! I hope my girlfriend likes the way I look now! I'll be back when she doesn't like me again. Good people & good vibes. Thanks for posting up today and having me: I'll be back read more

Was looking for a good barber in Alhambra for a while. Finally, I came across Elevate Barbershop and got my hair cut by Omar. I have been going to Omar now for a minute and I don't intend on going anywhere else. He's professional, offers great customer service and always delivers a fresh cut. Also, the shop itself is very well kept up and there's also plenty of parking. I recommend Omar to anyone that's in the San Gabriel Valley area looking for a solid barber. Oh, and you can't beat the price. read more

Mario is my guy. Cool as hell to talk to while you're in the chair, and most importantly he does great work. Definitely my go to guy when I need a fresh cut. Also the vibe of the place is on point. Cool music and always got a movie or something on. Highly recommended. read more

I've been going to the same hair stylist for about 17 years, my entire life I had hair on my head that needed to be cut. Until today, I didn't have faith in anyone else. I got my hair cut by Eric, he provided extremely stylish feedback and executed it perfectly. Attention to detail is also amazing. If you like hip hop music, this place is for you because they blast music while you get your hair cut, which prevents the need for small talk. Highly recommend! read more

Great establishment. The main thing I want to highlight is that a hair cut from this shop is worth the wait. Nevertheless, I did not have to wait long and the service was friendly and welcoming. Can't really mess up on a bald cut! read more

Stopped by Elevate yesterday afternoon for an appointment with Giselle and I must say, I've never gotten so many compliments on my haircut in a single 24 hour period. She seriously hooked up it!! I normally keep it super simple with my hair cuts: number 2 all the way around (against the grain), line up in the front and back, square with the sideburns. When I came into Elevate though I decided I was going to put my barber to the test and told her to "have fun with it". She still started with a number 2 all the way around but the gave me a low taper on the sides and in the back. I've never had a fade so clean. I took a chance and Giselle took care of me. I know I can trust her without any hesitation now. After the hair cut she offered to trim my facial hair (or lack thereof; I've got a bit of a baby face). I wasn't convinced she'd be able to do much with my sad excuse for a chin strap, but by the time she was done I couldn't believe how sharp it looked. I had a date right after I got my hair cut and it was the first thing she commented on when she saw me. I seriously can't speak highly enough of Elevate and their barbers! read more

This shop is one of the best I have been too. The vibe is great. The barbers are all friendly and easy to talk too. They have a bunch of tvs to catch a flick or game. Overall I would recommend everyone to come check this shop out! read more

This place charge cheaper but does an okay job. I sent my partner here to get his haircut and his beard line up and since this place has 4.5 star rating, we had high expectation for this establishment. I am giving this place a 1 star and would most definitely not going back here again just because of the quality of work was mediocre and looks like my partner could have just done the haircut himself. I am not sure if its because the haircut and beard deal was $25 so thats why they did not put enough effort. I think they should improve their service and give everyone 101% and not base it on the amount they are charging. I would rather send my partner to a $60 barber shop and get a really good haircut than go to this place. read more

Really awesome place with chill barbers and great service. Heard about this place from a dude at my gym so I checked it out. They give clean cuts and fades. I walked in and got my hair cut by Bella. The barbershop is sacred ground on the path to manhood. Feels great to see the new guard of hair professionals take up the torch and breath new life in this institution. They take your appearance seriously. Their attention to detail begins with the brilliantly designed shop and ends with razor sharp line-up. Definitely worth a revisit. They should consider expanding to the east coast. read more

Eric is the best enough said. He does my hair and I appreciate the time he takes on my hair and makes me feel secured. The man knows what's up. His attention to detail is spot on and this is why I am giving a 5 star because this man is what a barber is and should be. read more

Got in at 10 when they opened, barbers filtered in by 10:10, two barbers took customers who had appointments, and the third barber sat down and started watching tv. I'd been asked twice if I had an appointment when I first came in and made clear I was a walk in. After ten minutes of watching the barber watch tv I bounced. read more
