After last night I have decided to update my last review because NOTHING has changed, DO NOT MOVE IN because if anything this community continues to spiral downhill and get worse. If you don't enjoy the following DO NOT MOVE HERE: Yesterday there was a party in one of the common areas that is suppose to be checked by security at 10pm and be closed. It went on till 1am which after the amounts of drunken kids (20 year olds) spilled out to the streets causing multiple neighbors to come out...NOT the first time. There has been a broken wine bottle in the bark area that dogs do there buisness on for 2 weeks and it has yet to be swept up!! If you have pet don't rent here because the amount of poop that isn't picked up is ridiculous and never gets better (2 year experience). They say it is a smoke free environment but it isnt!! At all... they just send out emails that keep being ignored. Homeless people continue to live in the stairwells or by main entrences so if she leave to work early or come home late you'll have a run in with people asking to let you in. The elevator is always trashed over night. There are appts where 6 people are living together and we pay their water bill because its only split with people on the lease ( They say its about $60 for utilities but we have never seen it under $100). People love leaving their trash outside there doors for days and its apparently okay because nothing is done even after a notice on their door. NOW the ladies in the office are amazing and the maintenance team try their best but they can't controll what others do and this is the reality of this community!! read more

Just wanted to provide an update on the progress they have made on the security issue that has been going on for the last 2 to 3 years. They had yet another break in to an apartment on the 4th floor two weeks ago. Someone was able to get into the Community, and break into an apartment. The same week a resident had "an unwanted guest come up to the apartment." I would assume this was another homeless person, but the Elements staff provided very little detail on this. They again blamed this on "another community member may have let this guest in." I'm sorry, but no logical resident is just going to willingly let a burglar and/or a homeless person into the community. Not only does this show their inability to take ANY responsibility for anything, but it also proves that they don't care to provide a safe community as this problem has been going on for 2-3 years and still hasn't been addressed. As a reminder, when I brought up this issue to the District Manager, the response I received was "we don't claim to be a security complex." read more

2018 Lights - In spring of '17, management was notified that there were several lights out on the property, which is even a bigger deal from a safety standpoint with all of the vandalism, car break-ins, and homeless people on our property. A few of the lightbulbs were replaced, but then management reported that the job could not be completed because they "ran out of lightbulbs" - In Fall of '17, management was called out on their b.s. excuse and was told that 5-6 months is more than enough time to purchase lightbulbs. They were also informed that around that there were nearly 100 lights out along the parking lot, walkway, and interior walkway where the pool and bbq areas are. Their response was to replace about 25% of the bulbs that were out, and place painter's tape on the rest so they know which ones were still not fixed - Mid February 2018 - Five and a half months later, and nothing else has been done Dog Sh*t - Take a walk around the perimeter of the building, and you'll see 25-50 piles of dog sh*t on any given day. A**hole neighbors don't pick up after their dogs, and maintenance has stopped picking it up. The medical building across the parking lot hates us because their lawn has been sh*tted on and left. Our apartment was decent. Old and used, some things needed repairing after the move in and some stuff didn't get fixed after the maintenance came in to "repair" it (If it does it's purpose, it works, to them at least). The area, not so good,thanks to loud motorcycles passing by in the middle of the night, homeless people outside yelling, and very, very mean people that live in the apartment complex. There's been people getting tased in front of our apartment...wasn't very fun to listen to. Some areas of the apartments smelled like dogs poop and piss. The leasing office staff...-100/10! Not only do they hold your packages, they don't tell you when they've arrived, or are too lazy to actually check all the packages in the back of the leasing center near the restrooms. Yes, holidays get crazy, but why not send emails/notifications while sitting and waiting for the next appointment to arrive for an apartment tour? If you go in the back towards the restrooms in the office during holidays, you'll see PILES of packages just sitting there! And continue to sit there all through early spring when everyone's looking where their package is. Even after we moved out, I told them a package was accidentally sent to the old apartment and they told me they would notify me when it arrived and will hold up to 48 hours. I kept checking and emailing about it after it said "delivered", Elements kept saying "no we don't have it" and then said they'd email if they did receive it. I never got a call, text, email, or letter to be told to pick it up. I updated the tracking number and apparently, was at Elements for 3+ weeks and just recently returned to sender. So, my package was gone and I had no way of getting it back. But that's just one of the MANY issues with the staff. Another thing, when and if someone parks in your spot after 5 pm, the apartments can't tow that car out. What's the point of reporting when you can't do anything about it other than having them leave a warning paper on the car? Then you HAVE to park somewhere else( residents, don't be a prick and steal someone else's parking spot! There's visitor parking for your family and friends). I also find it pointless on paying for additional parking if they won't tow. While staying at the apartments, there were about three reports of break ins to the garage and breaking car windows. My roommates bike was stolen from the bike room! Yet elements assured us that they haven't had stolen bikes with the new gates and whatever. Complete bs just to get your trust. There's no security cameras to help you. After move out, we've had issues with the leasing staff to get our deposit back. They charged us $500+ for carpet replacement/cleaning, when they told us we WOULDN'T be charged since the carpet was old and was getting REPLACED. They charged us $300+ for painting when the thing they said was "touch up" painting?? They also wanted to charge and blame us for ceiling leaking damage because of some irresponsible parent (resident above us) leaving their kid in the bath alone and overflowing it, leading it to go through our ceiling. We asked for documentation so we could use this and be safe when moving out. The maintenance guy said yes, he'll make a report. Lies. He, nor the leasing office made the report. So we were being blamed for the "yellowing" on the ceiling. Luckily, we had proof and photos of the event to back us up. DOCUMENT EVERYTHING IF YOU LIVE HERE. Don't trust the leasing or workers to do it for you. They won't! It took (who knows how long) weeks for them to resolve the issue about the deposit since Jazmin Chavez proceeded to ignore our emails. We only got this resolved because we went in person. The check from our deposit took FIVE MONTHS to get back to us. FIVE MONTHS of having to go back and forth AGAIN for our deposit back. It's ridiculous. You would think this is a cheap and decent place to live. DONT! THEY'LL TRY TO SCAM YOU IF YOU'RE NOT CAREFUL! This is one of the worst apartments you can get. Elements, the standard, and Mosaic apartments are all under one company, don't trust these three. Avoid the area! Every time I saw a possible new resident, I just wanted to scream "RUN AND NEVER COME BACK". read more

Look at all one star reviews below - the worst property in Silicon Valley I have ever lived in: everyone has a negative experience with this property and its management. Don't burn your hardly earned cash with this property. We moved to this property on November 2016 and so far many many times the elevator and garage gates went broken. They have a designated area for bicycles that you need to use your key to scan and enter that area. Despite the presence of security camera and designated area for bicycles, our brand new bicycle was stolen from the secure bike area and the property manager has refused to provide footage of the camera installed in the bike area. As a result of no footage provided, i was not able to submit a footage to my renter''s insurance and get reimbursement. The management simply doesn't care about safety of its residents and you're on your own if someone breaks into your apartment. The area is full of homeless people and drug addicts and since the parking garage is too often broken, they can enter the property and break into your cars and eventually your apartment. It seems that this property has had issues with proper management and the corporate often replaces management and staff with no improvements. We recently experience water intrusion in our apartment caused by another tenant on the fourth floor. At 11:00PM, we informed the property management that water is pouring from our bathroom and bedroom ceiling. They came in at 2:00AM and with complete rudeness demanded us to leave the apartment and suggested to go and stay with our FRIENDS for the night. Who the hell goes to his friend's house at 2:00AM? We left our apartment on June 3rd and after one months still there was no repairs - the property demanded us to pay rent even though we stayed out of our apartment and paid for hotel and many other expenses occurred due to this incident. We were extremely frustrated with the ways the management handled communication with us, contractor etc. Because of their ignorance and being careless toward their residents, the repair has been delayed for more than one months and affected residents have been staying at hotel with no access to their belongings. The management team at this property failed to handle this emergency issue and treated us unfairly. under California Civil Code 1942, if repair takes longer than 30 days, tenant either can break the lease or refuse to pay rent. But, the property management sent us a letter giving us 3 day notice to pay rent for the month that we even did not live in our apartment and they already have moved all our furniture. If you'd like to overly be charged while being unfairly treated and be taken advantaged of by inexperienced staff and managers, come and live in elements or mosaic apartments. read more

This is a lemon apartment complex, considering it's fairly brand new (10-15 years?). The garage door, elevator and water are on rotation to BREAK DOWN. We currently have 1/2 a gate working. HALF!!! Noisy, Noisy, Noisy! On Parkmoor, there is a school so traffic is CRAZY & Loud. I've heard from neighbors, that the veterinary clinic, that houses dogs, on Parkmoor has dogs howling all night long. On Lincoln, the Sons of Anarchy and their motorcycles flaunt their mufflers ALL. NIGHT. LONG. The Light Rail is hardly noticeable (if you're a heavy sleeper), but there is a TRAIN that runs about midnight EVERY NIGHT. Oh, and let's not forget the Gardeners EVERY Saturday at 6:30 am with their leaf blowers and lawnmower. Think you can enjoy sleeping in and having morning coffee peacefully??? Think again! On Sunday nights (about 6ish) they run their "leaf blower on a truck." That's special. Ugh. Parking SUCKS!!!!! I'll say it again... PARKING SUCKS!!!! We share the Race Street lot with light rail and San Jose Medical Group (SJMG). If you don't get here before 3 pm, you are so screwed. SJMG tows your car whatever time, any time, you park in their lot. Management has not, and has sent an email saying they will not, do anything about this. Forget about having guests over or having an extra car. It WILL cost you $500 (minimum) each time. Fantastic, right? Maintenance and Management are so slow to respond. Let's just say I've had an outstanding maintenance request since January. It's March. I'm still waiting. They keep telling me they're waiting for, "A part," to arrive. Right... I have one star because of the apartments. They are really spacious and beautiful. Other than that, I'd give a negative. If you don't mind absent minded management, maintenance, sh** breaking down ALL THE TIME and loud, obstructive noises I recommend this apartment complex. I lived there for a year with my wife. The front staff are RUDE, they loose paper work and accusing you of not returning them and one of them has TERRIBLE ATTITUDE. Luckily we have moved out but such an unpleasant move out. The move out process is simple, you notify them you are not extending your lease, someone from office will come inside the apartment and inspect it. But the inspection is fake. Why? it is because few days before we move out, the inspection guy did not show up (I know why). So we called and asked someone to inspect the apartment with us. Someone from office came and stated that everything is in perfect condition and also encouraged us to take photos before move out which we did. Few days passed and we received a bill charged us for more than $250. The charges include $70 carpet cleaning (OK) $140 apartment cleaning (not ok but fine I dont have time to fight all details) and $55 paint. That pissed me off specially because the paint was not harmed, only normal wear when the wall is exposed to the air vs it is hidden behind furniture. I went to office to talk to front desk agents and gods she was rude not event making little attempt to talk but directed us to some 3rd party customer service in PHX Arizona. I asked for details about paint touch up and they sent me pictures which clearly shows paint is in good condition not harmed by us and only normal wear. When we lived there, we asked to talk to the management a number of times, he/she was never available, never called us to discuss the bad attitude one of the front desk agents has (I am talking about the lady that has been there for a while not the new one). She is terrible, the worst I have seen dealing with a customer in a rental complex. Other problems with this place, our SLR camera was stolen from the door before we pick it up. The garbage shooting smells with lid always open. The garage door is always out of order. Breaking into cars is a usual business. There is parking spot available ever for guests. My advise to anyone thinking about this place, do not let the initial price and nice looking place lure you. We moved in last year during the pandemic and it wasn't too bad. But wow, this place has gone downhill. Walk around the outskirts community and you will be followed by strong smells of dog pee and you'll need to watch every step as there is dog poop everywhere. This is the least of the issues that this community has. Believe the bad reviews from years prior. Trash rooms are disgusting. The walls and floors are filthy. We literally had someone leave dog poop in front of our apartment door. Literally on the hallway carpet. Recently there has been an influx of new people living here who don't even have keys and will beg you to let them in. The leasing office is now requesting audits of who has keys and whether or not they should have them. Really? Random people just walk in and it has become so unsafe. This is also supposed to be a no-smoking community, but our neighbors don't seem to care. We have reported this issue to the leasing office three times and nothing has changed. The hallway and elevator now stink of cigarettes. If you're looking for a quiet community, this place isn't it. People hang out in the parking lot drinking and smoking while also talking so loudly that you can hear every word at 1 AM. People also love to park in spaces that they do not pay for. I have had to talk to the leasing office about calling the tow truck on people parking in a spot that I pay for multiple times. Overall this community has gone to crap. We have already begun the process of moving out and our lease isn't even over yet. Yes, it's that bad. The staff is very rude once you sign your lease they could care less about you... they all claim to be the Manager but lack the skills .. ive put in multiple work orders that never got fixed .. they denied pool access every request i put in.. people steal in the parking garage security barely speaks any English so they can't help you with any problems because they don't understand anything you say i've seen multiple domestic disputes going on.trash piles up in the trash rooms to the point you cant walk inside ... and the neighbors are very unfriendly talk shit on the Facebook community. I've reached out numerous times via phone and in person (if they don't pick up the phone, their voicebox is full so you can never send a voice message). I have been wanting to post a review of the complex for quite a while, but figured it would be best to do so at the end of me lease to avoid any issues. First, is the apartment nice? yes Is the complex nice? kind of. There have been issues with getting community things fixed. The pool is not 75 like I was told at move in, and the hot tub is more like luke warm. How is the staff? pleasant How is the neighborhood? Well that is where it goes down hill. I have had both of my vehicles broken into, one of them 3 times (one of those time was in the garage) the other vehicle once. I found out that there are no exterior cameras. And the cameras in the garage look at the entrances only (2 of them) If you are on the outside of the building you will get to hear motor cycles going to the bike club just up the road most weekends, and evening during the week. You will get to meet homeless people waiting for the elevator and in the parking garage walking to your car. Near the weekend you can enjoy music being playing by the party bikes tell late in the evening making impossible to enjoy watching a movie in your apartment with a window open. There is more that I can put down, but I think the point is being made. read more

This is a wonderful place to live. From the amazing amenities, large spacious floor plans and amazing leasing and maintenance team. I read some reviews (Deanna D. that the leasing staff was rude or lazy...I am what you would call a high maintenance occupant in that I have many packages shipping in and out daily and am constantly popping into or calling the leasing people. Needless to say I have a high volume of dealing with Yezenia, Veronica and the new young man from Mosaic who's name escapes my mind at the moment. This team led by Yezenia (until we lost her to a promotion) cares about their tenants and treats you with respect and always bends over backwards to accommodate. Chances are that if other tenants are having a bad experiences with them they are making unreasonable request or are treating the staff rudely. The location isn't choice but for the average rental price for a place this nice and big in the bay you have to make some concessions. It comes with 1 garaged unit and there is a ton of guest parking. I read the review complaining about parking and I scratch my head. One space comes with your unit regardless of size and there are garaged spots and outdoor reserved spots for rent at roughly 80$ indoor 65$ outdoor. People have their cars towed because they park in areas Heavily and clearly marked "DONT F*CKING PARK HERE". I highly suggest adding on as many spaces as vehicles you daily drive. 80$ for a garaged spot in the bay area is insane. There are places surrounding that charge over 150$ monthly. I read about people complaining about the VTA. This one really boggles the mind. Did you not see the massive stop and tracks while touring. Yes there are some minor train bells that stop around midnight and with your windows closed you can't hear it at all. Maybe those people should come back to reality and not make a complaint about train noises when the GD train was a package deal with the apartment. Bottom line staff is genuine, facilities are awesome, price is right and it's central to the south bay with access to 5 major transports within a few miles and the airport right down the way. I'm a professional renter, people and have lived in more communities like this that are truly dreck. I highly suggest this place. Remember people reviews are opinions and we know how the saying goes. Amenities are super convenient, garage parking is clean and fresh The best part is that they have music on and aromatizators throughout the whole building. We pay a huge amount of rent here for the crime to be what it is. Both of my neighbors and I have had property stolen. The management didn't tell us when some bicycles were stolen we ended up getting ours stolen because of some easy way into the bike room that hadn't been fixed. They never said a word and admitted to intentially not telling people. I wrote the management and spoke to them about the issue and my response was a letter telling me my loss was not there fault. How is it my fault when I could have moved my bikes had I know people were stealing them? I tried to work with management but they don't seem to care and just want to place blame away from them. If you like this place, you might want to wait for the crime issues to be resolved. There have been 6 issues that I know of this past 3 months. Car stolen, 3 bikes stolen, car broken into, and media room TV were stolen. Move in at your own risk! read more

I love my apartment.. All the complaints written by most here are valid in some way- Yes its noisy, but we are nearly downtown! Yes I'll drive an extra few miles to a grocery store with less scary customers (Stay away from mid-town safeway, drive a little further to fresh and easy) Yes the noise from the jerks on Harley's driving by annoys me. Yes the service crew can lag a day or two longer than necessary. And yes it is priced at a premium-but where can you get floor to ceiling windows, an open spacious floor plan, granite counter tops, a big island in the kitchen, staff members that come to your home and collect your Christmas tree to dispose of. (I love that) All in all the positives far outweigh the negatives. I've lived here two years and just signed a lease for 1 more. I have not experienced any security issues since Ive lived here. I think its funny that further down in reviews a lady complains about her housekeeper not being able to access her apartment- What are you paying for lady? Either you complain about burglaries, or about getting off the couch to let in the housekeeper. Honestly, we have a very easy to use buzzing system at the front door- I've never had a problem letting people in from the comfort of my home. If you are considering living here- read these reviews with caution, many of the complaints listed don't really have anything to do with the complex, or the staff... I love it. Everyone is super nice, and very friendly. I never here much noise, and the complex is very clean! The leasing office ladies are very helpful and attentive. The maintenance is good, I called about a broken light and the came and fixed it same day. And they removed all of our old moving boxes from our back patio and took care of them for us. Also, is seems as if everyone has a pet! Which isn't bad since they have all be very nice. ... The security is awesome, I feel very safe if I have to come home late. Except there was one car break in, but so far we haven't had a problem. The only default is the light rail , or its just my horrible luck. I always seem to leave right when the light rail is coming with takes an extra 5-10 minutes just to pass this Conner light. But then my fiancé says he never has that happen to him! Anyways, parking isn't always the best but its also not that bad. So far, we're loving our apartment, and community. read more

We've lived here for 6 mo and though it's far from my ideal (that would be living back in Seattle), I must say we are having trouble finding a better place in San Jose for a comparable price near the train. It's right on the vta train so we can manage with just 1 car (nearly impossible around here). It's quiet: I almost never here neighbors. Most people seem to be a bit younger or older -- we are young parents -- and it's not family oriented but I wouldn't say it's unfriendly to families. The amenities (gym, pool, etc.) are great and usually available. The staff is friendly and courteous; the maintenance great. The big negative is the surrounding area.... 1 star. It's theoretically near Willow Glen but a long & unpleasant walk even for a person who likes to walk. There's a park... but it's not a nice park. There's a recycling station :( read more

My roommate and I just recently moved in to Elements. So far everything has gone extremely smoothly from the leasing process to my actual move in date. Management walked us to the apartment and made us feel very welcome and excited to be new residents here. We moved from a nearby community with similar challenges as stated in the reviews. Most apartment complexes you go to have their ups and downs but we see the office team here making strides and efforts to continue improving the community. Would definitely recommend! read more

PROS This apartment complex is only about 4 years old and is very well maintained. The halls and grounds are cleaned meticulously and kept up very well by the staff. There are frequent events at the apartment lounge and theater room. They gym is small but is usually pretty empty and kept very clean and has a decent amount of equipment, considering. The apartments themselves are pretty nice. Service requests are fulfilled usually within 24 hours. The pool and grill area are kept clean. Overall it really is a nice "luxury" apartment. CONS The guest parking is a joke. Half the residents are younger people (rich college kids?) who live 3 or 4 per unit and so use up all the guest parking. I once inquired about this because we use our allotted two spots and our guests can never park there. I was told that I should rent another spot if we wanted to have an extra spot. How does it make sense that I should rent a spot for my guest when other RESIDENTS are parking in the GUEST spots???? Shouldn't those residents pay for the extra spots so they don't fill up all the guest spots? In addition, if someone else parks in your RESERVED spot, the apartment is powerless to do anything about it. They won't tow, no matter how many times your spot is filled. Mine is close to a door so it's a very popular spot to steal. The best they'll do is write a note to the car to stop parking there. Yay. Also, this is a pet friendly apartment which is fine because we get plenty of nice owners and their pets. Our unit was brand new when we moved in and so we never had a problem with smells. However, you're always going to get the lazy residents that leave dog sh** just laying around. Real nice. The staff at the office are hit or miss. They're just normal people and I'm sure have their good and bad days. But the service is not so good that I'd ever rave about it. It's not the safest part of town, but it's not Detroit. For the price they might want to consider having some extra security. If you're really worried, make sure to have a good insurance policy (which is obviously required) and turn on your security system. Personally, I've never had an issue with security, though. read more

You will like it here! I never thought we could be happy with apartment living, but I was wrong. Elements is a great place to come home to every day after work, and we love our weekends here eating BBQ'd meals on our patio under a lovely tree. Our son approves of our choice, too; he and his friends make good use of the media room, pool, and fitness center. Our cats love it here, too - they quickly located the warm, sunny spots that the huge front windows provide. We have lived at Elements for nearly a year now. All of the floor plans have special features. We LOVE our loft. We have direct access to the street through a sturdy, private, metal gate and the landscaped patio. If you have been searching for a place to rent without the feeling of being buried in a complex with a bunch of strangers, come look at Elements; it is a community, not a complex. We feel like we are living in our own home. Our loft feels spacious. This is partly because of the incredibly high ceiling. We downsized from a house three times this size, yet were able to arrange the furniture we actually spent our time in at the old house right here in this one. Our pictures and paintings climb the walls and we feel feel like we are living in an art gallery - there is room for all of them here. This is important: WE ARE WELL-CARED FOR. Work orders (which are rarely necessary) are fulfilled in 24 hours or less by a courteous, qualified maintenance crew. I can stop by the well-appointed lobby 7 days a week, even if I just want to say hello. These folks are trained well and know what they are talking about. I want to start out by saying that the apartments are really nice and the facilities in the summer like the pool are nice as well. Some key issues that we have here are: 1. Rent has been hiked up by approximately 400 dollars within a two year period. 2. Dog shit all over the side walk, if you don't step in it in the morning on your way out to work, you are a lucky camper. 3. Break -ins - a regulär occurrence in the bicycle locker and with cars that are parked in the garage and in the facility. 4. The rent - a -cop service ineffectual at best, my wife's car was broken into ( twice) and no one bothered calling her. 5. Elevators constantly broken down. In the last five weeks at least once a day. I love walking up four flights of stairs with grocery bags. 6. The leasing management, though nice are in-effectual at best - complained about people parking badly a couple of times i.e. in my designated garage spot- nothing was done about it. Though the apartments are really nice and if you don't plan to ever leave your apartment this is the place for you. :) Needless to say I will not be renewing my lease. read more

I moved to San Jose approximately 2 months ago. I looked at just about every luxury apartment and condo in the San Jose area and Elements hands down is the top pick. Debbie in the office could not be nicer, she provided a detailed showing of the property and is nothing but welcoming, not to mention she's always on her A game. I absolutely love living here. The gym is fantastic, I feel extremely safe with all entrances requiring a fab to enter after hours and the other residents that I've met are all extremely friendly. My apartment is in perfect condition, not a single complaint about any of it from the appliances to carpet. The general grounds are really taken care of and I'm extremely neat and organized so I don't hand out compliments like that often. The train runs directly in front of the apartment which can get you to downtown San Jose in minutes. There are not crazy noise levels I can hear from inside which is a huge plus. All in all I have not a single negative for Elements Apartments. Definitely deserves 5 stars. read more

I've been a resident of Elements for the last three years. It's been pretty good: I've enjoyed my time here, enjoy the pool area, gym, and location. Maintenance team is great, staff is really helpful, and being next to a VTA station is super practical. The apartment itself is *great*. I really like the layout, amenities, build quality, and cleanliness. Water pressure and heat / pluming is solid. The complex itself, once inside, is the same: clean, well-built, nice! The outside area is mixed. Being next to the VTA attracts unsavory characters, but that's par for the course of this part of San Jose. It's absolutely gotten better, year over year, and with all the new construction this area is going to look great. My only real complaint would be other dog owners who don't pick up after themselves. Not management's fault: they even provide *many* dog stations. I don't always feel super safe walking out at night because of VTA / homeless, but it's gotten much better the last year. Guesting parking is fine, and parking underground is safe. read more

I enjoyed living here at first. Since the management changed about a year ago this place has gone down hill. The common areas are filthy, no one ever seems to be in the front office, no one ever answers the phone, the elevators are constantly broken and a couple of the office people are very rude. I would not recommend and will be leaving once my lease is up. All of my neighbors agree. read more

To stick with the recent theme, I love it here! The staff are really friendly even though I'm sure they must be getting sick of accepting all my online purchases and delivering them to my apartment (a perk which I am loving), my apartment is huge for a 1-bedroom with an unbeatable floor plan and floor to ceiling windows and the location is brilliant. I catch the light rail to work or walk into downtown and both are very quick and convenient. Not to mention Willow Glen is gorgeous on the weekend and there is a supermarket down the street. I know some reviews say the area is a bit dodgy but I have never felt unsafe walking around here. OK, so I wouldn't go walking alone under the freeway in the middle of the night but duh. A bit of common sense and I don't see a problem with it at all. Perhaps I am just used to walking alot? The apartment complex itself is like living in a hotel. The amenities are brilliant and it seems underutilized so you can almost always enjoy them whenever you feel like it. Yes, it would be great if the lounge etc (which has free wi-fi!) was open 24/7 like the gym but that's just being fussy. The regular community events are great too - an excellent way to get to know your neighbours and something which I really value since I'm new to the area. My apartment faces the street but the noise doesn't bother me in the slightest. I guess if you were sensitive to noise perhaps you would prefer a pool-facing apartment but I really enjoy the sunlight from the outside. OK, so its a little pricey compared to other apartment complexes but of all the ones I looked at, this was by far my favourite and I was happy to pay the extra for a place I felt safe in and enjoyed coming home to. And everyday I live here I'm glad that I did :) read more

I went to see a couple of apartments at Elements this weekend and really liked the place. It has a nice feel to it. The complex is open, spacious and thoughtfully designed. The units I saw were very nice with lots of storage in the unit, large walk in closets, plenty of cupboards, and patios. Genesia worked with me and was amazing. She is warm and easy to talk to. The office there is busy all day and the ladies working there really work hard. They do a great job of handling the wide variety of things that people walk in with and never show a sign of stress. Genesia showed me a loft apartment that I liked a lot. I decided to get it and went to pick up the keys today. Debbie showed me my parking spot which was unfortunately occupied so I hope that's not going to be a recurring problem. She also took me to the mail room and also showed me where to throw trash away. She was very nice in working past her lunch period to do the walk through because I had an appointment and couldn't be flexible today. I'll be moving in next weekend and after being there a while I'll come back and update my review. I also wanted to mention that I found the area to be perfectly fine. There are a few old businesses scattered around the general area but by and large there are many newer buildings and nice homes, close by shopping, and it feels like home to me. I agree with the previous reviewer who encouraged folks to go out and take a look for yourself. It's a very nice apartment complex that is a little different than the rest and well worth checking out. read more

One of my buddies just moved into this complex and I paid a visit. This review is not written by someone that lives there but rather a visitor. The place is extremely secure. I had to have a code to get in, and for my friend to accept in order for the front entrance to be opened. Went up through the elevator and I was greeted by my friend. The apartments are extremely spacious, and since the complex is brand new, you would be enjoying brand new appliances, carpets and moving into a chic apartment complex. As far as guests, there is plenty of parking in the complex as well as on the street. The area is safe and I had no complaints. Elements is a great new development, the floor plans are great and based on my friend's experience, the service was great. They have plenty of models that they are willing to showcase. Relatively new apartment complex in Mid-town San Jose with better than average floor plans. The website is also a breeze to use to find available units - although not without its flaws. Location wise Parkmoor and Lincoln are quite noisy and so is the VTA light rail station crossing bells and station announcements. They really should quad pane these windows facing the outside of the property. For the noise conscious you really want to be facing inside. I see complaints of TV noise and foot steps from above - these are pretty much expected of apartment complex. Maintenance is awesome but management is a hit and miss. Had guests park in our reserved parking spot while they turned a blind eye. It's not a big deal to walk an extra 20 feet to an unreserved spot, but we're paying for that parking space. All in all it's one of the better apartments I've lived at (though for a premium) and I just renewed my lease. read more

I couldnt have encountered a better leasing office team than Joseph, Stephanie and Jessica. They are the best. They are super friendly but profesional. The other day i needed maintenance to fix the front door knob. I notified Stephanie and within the hour James from maintenance (awesome guy) was there to fix my door and was finished in literally 10 min. I waited for a month to write this review because I was waiting to see if the awesome customer service of the staff would remain consistent after I sign the lease :-). To those of you looking for a place with great ammenities, staff and service I highly recommend this place. Since I moved in, I have been pleased with the customer service from Hieu (the manager), Deb (asst. manager) and Genesia. They always greet everyone with a huge smile and are consistently helpful. The maintenance team are very polite and you can always count on them to complete your service request in a timely manner. I rented a one bedroom and the space is bigger than a typical 1bd unit. The facilities are always clean and very well kept. The residents are mostly young urban professionals. There are also wonderful families in the community and they are always fun to watch at the pool side while they are having fun with their kids Overall, I am very happy living at Elements. We Love The Elements!!! We have lived here for 6 months now and we cannot say enough great things about it. We have lived in apartment living for 7 years and this complex is by far the BEST! The grounds are clean and always kept up. Never any trash around and you can always see the maintenance team cleaning something, replacing lights, cleaning the pool, etc. We love the gym and the clubhouse. Any maintenance issue we have had (which are few are far between) are handled right away! Its super quiet here and parking is easy. What makes Elements GREAT has to be the Staff hands down. Everyone is warm and friendly and you are always greeted with a smile. They accommodate you in every way and never say No to anything you need or want. Hieu, Debbie, Edy, etc ALL work so hard and make this the best place to live. We couldn't be happier here and we plan on calling The Elements home for a long time. I miss living here. I spent two years at the Elements and I really enjoyed it. I had wonderful neighbors, the staff was super attentive, maintenance was fast and professional. Although the leasing staff switched a bit, Debbie was there the whole time I lived there. She was always very sweet and loved my dog (she always had treats for him). I was sad to see Jovice leave and Terry in maintenance. I think they are still with the company but at other buildings in the Bay Area. I had NO incidents or issues the entire time I lived there. If something came up, the staff resolve it quickly. You can request they deliver packages to your home when you're not home. Great when you're working late. I also like the 24/7 security officers. It's sad to hear there were break-ins. It's not in the greatest part of town but it was super close to my office and 280. I took living there for granted. I have always lived in great buildings and this was one of the best. Great amenities, wonderful fixtures and lighting, lots of closet and kitchen space. If I could do it all over again, I would have never left. read more

My husband and I moved to Elements last fall. I shopped alone and viewed the available units with Debbie. She seems to be the constant in our amazing experiences here! Having lived here for the last ((almost)) year, we have seen numerous events held, mixers planned, deliveries made, maintenance issues addressed and regular emails from the team letting us know about the latest and greatest going on. Prometheus((the property management company)) knows what they're doing. They hire well, train well and expect the best. In the end, it's all a tenant can hope for! I have always felt safe, the maintenance team has always responded to our requests as fast as we can put them in and the office team, specifically Debbie, is always prepared no matter what we throw their way. The neighbors have always been very friendly and respectful. I would highly recommend checking out this complex and making it your next home. read more

Overall: This place rocks! For San Jose, it's a value for what you get. Well, considering this is one of the most expensive areas in the U.S. of A. Details: This is the nicest apartment I've ever lived in. It's updated without being obnoxious like that "industrial chic" style I've observed at other places. This place also has a TON of room and more storage than we could ever need. (Translation: Costco or "prepper" friendly. You decide). It's quiet because people keep to themselves and work a lot. Because Silicon Valley. There's virtually nothing about the interior that I would change, except maybe a little less carpet in the common area. The kitchen is a dream, especially with that island and the granite countertops. The appliances are all new and work like clockwork. Our 2 bedroom has so much entertaining space, it's perfect for having friends over. It has normal apartment disadvantages, but overall, I love coming home to my place. The management does address problems when brought to their attention. The common areas are solid, there are nice events for the community, and they have pretty darn good food trucks on the reg. The staff up front are helpful, and I LOVE how dog friendly this place is. They have doggie bones near the front office, a pet relief area, and you can easily find a dog walker or sitter if you need one. The pool and hot tub are really nice. If they get crowded, it's because they're awesome. The gym isn't bad either if you're just doing regular workouts. This building is in a neighborhood that is being developed, so it's both residential and industrial and it's near the VTA. For me this is an advantage, but you have to be smart. Don't leave anything in your car, especially if you park outside of the garage. It's common sense if you've ever lived in a city. After living in Chicago, I learned that nicer areas in cities tend to be bigger targets for theft than sketchy ones. This is normal. I'd rather keep my car clean and be able to hop on the light rail to go downtown whenever I feel like it. Plus, you can drive to Willow Glen proper in 2 minutes and grab dinner or drinks.
