I'm only giving a 4-star rating because I do not live there, and I'm leaving this review solely based on my tour experience. This review is long overdue, but it left a lasting impact and memory for me. I've been touring apartments for quite a while, and it's extremely tiring. I stumbled upon Lynhaven for a last-minute tour and was guided by Karla. This tour was definitely like no other; I felt at ease. She was very sweet and accommodating. During the tours, I was taking notes, pictures, and videos, and the first thing she told me was, "You're going to relax and enjoy the tour. I'll take care of the details, the videos, and the photographs." I laughed out of relief, as I was finally able to enjoy what I was seeing instead of worrying about what I had to remember. It felt like I was hanging out with a friend rather than being sold something. It was a relaxing experience despite all the walking, and she spent so much time with me to find the perfect fit. Unfortunately, my job required me to relocate, and I missed out on this opportunity. No doubt, Lynhaven will be at the top of my list in the future. I've done my research and read the reviews; there are always two sides to every story. If you decide to give Lynhaven a try, I highly recommend taking a tour with Karla, especially if you've been searching for a while. 9/4/24 (4 stars): TLDR: The leasing process had some delays and errors, with paperwork taking a week and needing multiple revisions. Moving in was smooth, but there were minor issues like a clogged sink and no WiFi for a week despite prior requests. Instructions on parking and gate access were unclear. Communication could improve, but the apartment is clean and looks good overall. 9/11/24 (2 stars): TLDR: This review is for upper management. Comcast installed the internet correctly, but the apartment's faulty internal wiring caused ethernet ports to fail. Comcast offered to diagnose the issue for $100, since the problem was related to the unit, the leasing office (specifically Ishmael and Karla) was kind and helpful enough to escalated the issue to upper management. However, the manager, Alex, was unhelpful, blamed Comcast, and refused to address the fee, despite the wiring issue being the property owner's responsibility. Charging over $4k/month while refusing to cover such fees reflects poor and greedy practices. Be cautious when dealing with upper management. 9/16/24 (3 stars): TLDR: Comcast fixed everything, providing probably the best experience I've ever had with them. Turns out, none of the ethernet outlets in the unit were working, contrary to what the previous manager, Alex, claimed. After my complaints, Lynhaven upper management (Mari and Jeremy) reached out to discuss the issue in detail. They both acknowledged that most, if not all, ethernet ports should have worked on Day 1 and promised to investigate further. While no mention of waiving the Comcast fee was made, they said they'd follow up by Wednesday. I'll give a star back for their effort, though it seems prompted by my multiple online reviews. 10/3/24 (4 stars): TLDR: Lynhaven (Mari) reached back out to me as they said they would, offering to waive my entire Comcast fee that was billed to me for having the technician come back out to fix the incomplete ethernet connections. This would be a higher rating but due to my past communications with Alex, I'm incline to say that there will be some problems will likely get pushed back towards the residents rather than solved until you spam them with bad reviews. I will say the maintenance team is very helpful and communicative, and your maintenance requests will get done quite quickly. Updated 1/22/25 (1 star): Ongoing issues (package theft due to unsecured room, broken gate, poor communication on outages) have been frustrating, but the worst was the poorly handled parking assignment. The process was unclear, the form didn't work, and despite being promised a spot near our preference, we were assigned one far away. Overall, management communication and support have been disappointing, especially for the $4k+ rent. Updated 3/22/26 (0.5 star): Just so we're clear, my review from last year has been a 1 star due to the poor implementation of the assigned parking where communications was done poorly over a busy holiday weekend (Christmas/New years) where most people were on vacation (not to mention they didn't even send me an email until I found out after returning home from the holidays), resulting in a terrible parking spot for me since people who got the email already signed up. While small changes to upgrade the BBQ has been done (maybe like 3 people uses it). Various amenities around the property remains damaged or broken entirely. Things from the garage gate being broken several times throughout the year, the Winslow hot tub not working for over a year (yes we told the office many times) and the package situation (this is such a joke, there was over 30 packages in the lobby last night). There are other problems like the time they accidentally told security to kick people out of 24/7 amenities after 10pm, when they increased vehicle pass cost by double (essentially a hidden fee since you won't know unless you ask), and charge $250 (or maybe it was $150 but still insane) if you get locked out of your room past the office's "opening hours". But let's add one more thing to it. Last year, they changed the trash pickup service that you were required to opt in no matter what. The old service wasn't too bad, they did their job like they're supposed to, and used a metal square trash can that looks acceptable. This new trash pick-up service (Trash Butler), now uses a much more cheap, basic and aesthetically unpleasing plastic IKEA trash cans. The people that pick up the trash are extremely lazy, and wouldn't pick up trash if it was "too heavy" or "too large", which by their standards is more than 15-20lbs per trash bag or if a recycling piece of cardboard is over 3' wide/long. It's like they don't realize that some packages or pizza boxes can get pretty big and is quite difficult to cut down to smaller sizes without proper tools. Also maybe hit the gym if 15lbs is too heavy for you? Or get another job that isn't strength-based? I think we pay like 50-60$ for this subpar service. Ridiculous. read more

This is hands down the worst management I've ever dealt with. They never assign a real parking space -- just give you a 'temporary' one, then forget about it and have your car towed. They keep pretending they're 'working on it,' but nothing changes for over a year. It's pure negligence and disrespect. Will not recommend this place at all. After a 4am false fire alarm, the entire ICT keys system stopped working for 4 days, during which all residents had no accesses to all buildings, elevators, garage gates and mailroom. However, the management team were enjoying their weekend happily and completely disappeared (despite sending one email apologizing) during the crisis. Meanwhile, they allow the keys/fob system to malfunction for 96 hours, but they do not allow residents to put your trash out one minute earlier. Don't live here. Lived here for one year before moving out because of how much I disliked it. Lots of hidden fees and bad management. While I lived here one of the garage doors was always broken and left open, so the advertised safe locked garage was never actually locked. People got their cars broken into and stolen regularly. Issues with weak security around the building, especially bottom floor apartments. Multiple false alarm fire alarms and power outages interrupting the day. The area this apartment is located generally has high costs of power and water - they told me to expected more than 150 per month from pge when I moved in. They will take your housing deposit. I asked for the documentation of the issues and they literally sent me pictures pointing to nothing(literally pointing to stuff that did not exist). $800 down the drain for a spotless room upon leaving. Leasing office never got back to me about removing router from room despite 2 reminders costing another 100 dollars in fees from internet service provider. Random fees vary charged every month were adding 70-100 dollars to monthly rent. No clear explanation for huge cost differences month to month. Ant problem during summer. All this outweighed the nice amenities and new construction for me and I left. read more

There are too many downsides for such expensive apartments. Some neighbors blast loud music and sing karaoke in the mornings. On top of that, dogs start barking early every morning, making it impossible to get proper rest. The courtyard doors creak so loudly at night that it's hard to fall asleep. There are no lounge cushions by the pool. The trash bins used to be high quality, but now residents have been given cheap, laughable. Be sure to read the new lease agreement carefully -- there are many new terms that are clearly unfavorable to tenants. read more

Lynhaven is a moderately safe community between Campbell and San Jose. We enjoyed our time living there--however, not without its flaws, partially due to the inconsiderate nature of fellow neighbors across the community. Note, this review is for the Josie building, I can't speak for the Winslow. Pros: -The apartment grounds (with the exception of the mail room) were kept incredibly clean. -Compared to some other areas of San Jose, we felt incredibly safe here, with the exception of car break-ins. -I very seldom heard my adjoining neighbors (note, I only had neighbors on one side) -Maintenance, prior to the mass exodus, was extremely helpful. -The apartment staff threw amazing events--cookouts, food trucks, etc that were well attended. -They are extremely pet friendly. -Plenty of electric charging stations--for a fee. -WiFi in the garage. -Elevators never had any issues and were consistently operational. -Our apartment was quite nice--my only complaint would be the quality of the finishes and cabinetry in the kitchen were subpar. Cons: -Like other reviews, we received a bill upon moveout and agreed with most of the charges. However, the "Trash Can Replacement Fee" for 100.00 was absolutely ridiculous. Not only are you forced to use the trash can they provided, but they really attempted to ask us to pay this--of which the claims of a "damaged" trashcan were unsubstantiated and without proof (and even if it was, do they just give the trash cans a spray down and hand them to the next resident? Lol). Sharon ended up waving the fee, which was appreciated, but not without a robotic and empathy lacking email and phone exchange with Desiree. -In the reply from Lynhaven, they claimed that we left an "absorbent" (I think they meant exorbitant) amount of boxes in the hallway and that was the reason for the trash can replacement fee. Yes, we left the boxes in the hallway--per our lease agreement in which we paid 30.00 for valet trash. Perhaps we should have left the boxes piled up in the garage with all of the other discarded furniture or better yet, outside next to the parking garage entrance where everyone else throws their discarded junk. And even if it there were too many boxes in the hall, why list it as a bogus and unrelated fee? Also, the claims of "completely blocking the hallway" are inflated--unless they had elephants trying to get through. They were left up against the wall. -The package and mail system was an absolute disaster in the Josie. The package room was often jam packed with large and small items in which you had to wade through to even get to the Parcel Pending lockers. Delivery drivers don't care and the staff simply can't act quick enough due to the sheer volume of packages. I lost several items due to this flawed "system." -Privileged residents, like animals, would open their packages and leave the packaging in the mail room strewn about for the custodial staff to take care of. Your fellow neighbors will also leave packages that need to be refrigerated down there for days, causing the mailroom to smell like rancid meat and pile discarded mail and food to the sky in the mailroom trash receptacles. -Your fellow neighbors are also the reason the garage gates keep breaking--ramming their car into the garage gates, causing them to break down for months at a time. Other reviewers blame the apartment, but they'd repair the garage door and then a few days later someone else would hit the garage door and break it again for months on end. -Other residents also have no elevator etiquette--often standing directly in front of the elevator doors preventing you from getting out and on several occasions, stepping into the elevator before you even have a chance to get out. -Maintenance/inspection notifications were a joke--often sending emails out a day or two before the mandatory maintenance. While still working from home, with a dog, this was a massive inconvenience. Even when submitting a maintenance request, I'd often get calls in the middle of the day asking if they could come now or a random ringing of the doorbell when I was in a meeting. -Car break-ins were an everyday occurrence on Winchester Blvd--regardless of the time of day. I never personally had an issue, but it felt like I saw a car window smashed in at least 3-4 times per week. -Ants. So. Many. Freaking. Ants. That being said, most of my complaints about the apartment complex itself can be ameliorated. If we didn't move across the country, we definitely would've renewed for another 14 month term. However, you can't fix your inconsiderate neighbors who are largely the reason I couldn't give Lynhaven 4 stars. read more

We moved into the Winslow complex in 2020 and lived there until three months ago. The original management team was friendly and helpful. However, after several changes, the service quality dropped drastically. For example, we reserved the club room for a party last year more than a month in advance, only to be informed a few hours before the event that they had double-booked the room. When we asked what we should do, their response was that they were really sorry! The property manager even refused to talk to us on the phone. It was only resolved because one of the staff members kindly helped us set up our things in a study room. When we were moving out, we had the unit professionally cleaned. Despite this, they charged us for cleaning the unit by default. Only after we showed them the cleaning bill did they agree to drop the charge! They saw the clean unit but still charged us for cleaning. Lastly, we are still waiting to receive our security deposit after three months. This is illegal in California, but they are still doing it! Try to stay away from this property. You can find better and newer properties closer to Santana Row! Update : I am extremely disappointed with Lynhaven. It has been over three months since I moved out, and I still have not received my security deposit. This is not just a bad experience; it is illegal. In California, landlords are required by law to return security deposits within 21 days. Lynhaven's failure to comply with this legal requirement is unacceptable and reflects a serious disregard for their tenants' rights. This review is for future and current residents, so if management is reading this, keep scrolling. Okay, now that management is gone, let me tell you a few things about this place. First and foremost, I do not recommend living here. If it isn't already obvious, I will not be renewing my lease. If you're moving here from out of state, you probably don't realize that San Jose isn't the safest option out there. If you didn't know that already, here is your fair warning. Now that you've been warned you're probably going to look for a safe and secure place to live. Lynhaven appears secure at first, but its facade only masks the reality of how safe and secure it really is. Earlier this month, three individuals entered this property and stole my $1500 bike by cutting it off of the wall-mounted rack. They entered a locked parking garage, gained access to a locked bike storage locker, and simply removed my bike under video surveillance. I immediately filed a report with the security group (and police) contracted by Lynhaven (there is not 24/7 security here - they are off site and rarely do patrols around the grounds) and was told crime is pretty regular on the grounds. If you look through other reviews, you will see other complaints about property theft/damage. Management doesn't alert our community of theft/property damage because they want you to renew your leases and continue to live here so they can collect your inflated rent money. Instead of posting notices to the community to keep an eye out for suspicious people or activity they want tenants to assume Lynhaven is this safe, crime-free fairytale land. Following my incident, I waited several days to be contacted by management with an email saying something along the lines of, "hey, we are so sorry to hear your property was stolen from inside a locked bike closet! Here are the steps we will take to improve our security." Instead, they never reached out. I contacted them and was told, "I was not informed you requested a follow up." I should not need to request a follow up. I visited the locked bike closet this week - 3 weeks following my incident. The pieces of the bike mount which was cut off of the wall are still sitting on the ground. There is an additional bike mount cut off the wall now. This company and administration DO NOT CARE about you, your belongings, or your safety. They are too lazy to even clean up the crime scene - 3 weeks later. They just want you to pay $45/month for trash and collect their rent money. I've never written a review this long before, but I am sick of this place. It's just sad how there are, say, standards implemented in hospitals to protect patients, but tenants are at the mercy of slumlords. If this company ran a hospital, we would all be doomed. We like our apartment here. Prices are fair for the area. Lots of nearby things to do! Clean property. We locked ourself out of our apartment for the first time and since it is key fob we had to call emergency maintenance for after hours help (5 minutes late). LUCKILY Kayana from the staff was just leaving for the night and helped us get into our apartment so we could avoid the $100 after hours fee. Thank you Kayana! My lost star is for the inefficiency of help if we didn't happen to find someone from the lobby. Would have taken 1.5 hours for help to get into our apartment otherwise. Prepare for at least $1000 for move-out cost. During pre-inspection before moving out, the maintenance person insisted that "I don't see any damage", "everything looks good to me" and "There is nothing to worry about. There should be no surprise." The apartment was thoroughly cleaned and left spotless. During move-out, the ceiling now needs to be painted white, to match the white walls. "These charges are normal and charged for everyone moving out," the same maintenance person said. He and his taller colleague then repeated "You can't leave unless your sign this paper" and stared at me, regardless of any question. The paper estimates costs to include $650 Full Paint + $100 pain + $340 Cleaning + $140 Carpet Clean + $350 Maintenance Services, which are "standard and apply for all move-outs." Don't forget to leave the trash can. That may be another $100. Combined with the behaviors already described in the other negative reviews, please consider other new apartments in the area for more honest and responsible management. read more

Updating my review. I have now lived in this complex for about a year. It's not good. Do not move here. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my boyfriend. Our rent is ~$5000 per month. We got the first 2 months free deal. For the price of this apartment you can rent a house. I've lived in apartment complexes far far far cheaper than this with none of the issues we've experienced here. Here are some notes on our experience: - I think they've been through two or three managers since I moved here. - Amenities were nice until 2-3 months ago. People don't respect them and constantly break things. A grill spewed green flames from the bottom onto one of my friends. I've seen adults swinging off the TRX in my building's gym like they're auditioning for a role in Tarzan. - Two 4 AM evacuations in the past month. One due to an electrical issue in an elevator, and the other because apparently someone pulled the alarm deliberately. - All doors in the building work via key fobs. Elevators too. The entire key fob system went down recently and they couldn't find a certified technician who could fix the issue for several days. They propped all the doors to the building open with garbage cans so people could get in. - The garage works with automated gates that are activated via a puck. For the first 6-7 months here, at least one of these was broken at all times because people drive into them, and then it takes months to get replacement parts. - Despite fire alarm testing being "annual", it seems like they actually test the alarms like, a lot. This is a pretty disruptive process, you don't want to WFH during this time, and you need to secure your pets somewhere until it's done (or risk a fine if someone enters your unit as part of the test) - Soundproofing is abysmal. They will tell you to expect normal apartment noise, and say that everything is built to the highest modern soundproofing standards. The normal apartment noise here is not normal. Seriously. I haven't slept properly since I moved here. My upstairs neighbours are running their Roomba right now and it literally sounds like it is in the same room as me. Basically I've decided to just live my life in earplugs because the issue is 100% the building construction. - The location is not great unless you're choosing a place based off freeway proximity or something. The apartment is next to Winchester (a busy road), across the freeway from Santana Row. There is a decent amount of property crime in the area and walking at night doesn't always feel very safe. I've run into drunk/drugged up dudes in one of the side entrance stairwells about 4 times (the door doesn't always close properly, and we told the complex about this twice before giving up) - I had a package stolen from the mail room once, and the front desk staff basically told me to take a hike. (I guess they get asked about mail a lot.) - Ordering food to this place feels like such an unusual burden to place on the pizza delivery guy. The building uses ButterflyMX and delivery people usually haven't seen it before. As a result, in the evening there are usually a bunch of confused door dash delivery people standing around outside. read more

Lynhaven is a peaceful & clean environment. The amenities in each building are great and include a gym, pool, work offices, & a rooftop. Both the pool areas and rooftop areas have fireplaces. The location is fantastic, given that it is positioned in the middle of Santana Row & Downtown Campbell with a 3 minute commute each way. This review rating is specifically for Mari & Marisela at the Leasing Office. I have lived in luxury apartments prior to this and I can confidently say that I have never had a great experience with leasing office staff provided that they had a sheer lack of concern for resident needs or in being responsive. Mari & Marisela are the most knowledgeable, emotionally intelligent, & responsive individuals I have had the pleasure of working with. They know every specific detail behind every process in managing the community. They take the time to listen to customer needs and address those needs effectively through a nuanced approach. They are extremely personable and bring a warm energy to the community. Some of the other staff members have great qualities as well, but I would consider Mari & Marisela to be the MVPs - & furthermore leaders of the community. They shared with me that they are at the Manager & Specialist levels. However, I would consider them to be at a Program Director level. As a working professional, I would highly recommend Greystar / Lynhaven to promote them to the Director level, even regionally. In my own personal experience, and in my experiences observing them serve residents & lead other staff, I consider them to be the foundation & engine behind Lynhaven's success. I read some other reviews about individuals complaining about noise or the level of social activity that occurs here, and found them to be ridiculous. Yes, the noise insulation is not the greatest - but keep in mind this is an apartment community & shared living environment. This is the most active part of the South Bay Area. If individuals cannot handle noise from people living their lives, especially on the weekends, then they should not be a part of an apartment community. Rent a house instead. In terms of fire alarms or gates not working, etc. - this is a large commercial property. Not everything will work perfectly 24/7. Problems of these nature cannot be proactively handled; a problem is fixed when it occurs. The staff here do a great job of trying to fix the problems - many other communities have staff that will not even respond. As for the break ins - this the Bay Area. Natives know the entire Bay Area is not safe from break ins, even if you did live in nicer areas in the Mid Peninsula. On that note, Nick the Security Professional is extremely vigilant and constantly walking throughout all areas of the complex. I have never seen him sitting down to take a break as he takes his role & responsibilities seriously. In terms of the community here, every person I have interacted with has been kind & makes sure to keep the environment clean. Lastly, the community is extremely dog friendly. Overall, I have been having a great experience. Every hallway smells amazing due to the scent diffusers & the overall aesthetic makes it seem as if you are living in a resort. Areas for improvement: -The noise insulation is definitely lacking compared to other apartments. -Noise complaints should be assessed by the staff first; and if a reasonable noise level is demonstrated in a resident's apartment, the staff should respond to the individual who called in the complaint telling them that the noise is at a reasonable level. The current protocol dictates that your music must be turned off immediately, or eventually after enough complaints the authorities may be called. I find this to be a huge flaw, given that the maximum volume my music is played is at 1/4th since I have a dog and do not want to hurt his ears. I recently had the pleasure of touring Lynhaven with Justin as my guide and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Most of the communities tend to throw me a piece of map and let me figure out the rest myself. At Lynhaven, Justin accompanied us the entire hour(and the following day). He was incredibly patient & detail-oriented, making sure to answer all of my questions and provide a thorough tour of the units. He truly went above and beyond to make sure the tour was of the highest quality - including follow-up with us after the tour. Thanks to Justin's excellent presentation, we are in love with the Lynhaven community immediately. Haven't even moved in and it's already a nightmare. I toured Saturday and finished my application Sunday night. I submitted all the requested paperwork and emailed to ask if there's anything I'm missing. I wanted to move in by the next week. I called every single day midday just to give them a chance, and was told this is just the answering service, and to leave my number and they'll call back. No calls, no emails, no communication whatsoever. Friday I finally had enough and asked to be transferred or given a direct number and of course there isn't. I call again and a "lifestyle coordinator" picks up and I air my grievances and she states that someone did try to call me back yesterday but the number was 1 digit off. This is a totally lie because I left my number several times and had them repeat it back, and it's on my application. This really rubbed me the wrong way and shows their incompetence. It is now almost 5pm Friday and I have not heard back, I doubt my email in which I asked for my deposit back will even be responded to. This does not bode well for someone who was eager to move in asap. You'd think they would want to be on top of it and make sure to get me situated quickly and get that rent rolling. What happens if there is a maintenance issue? Or other problems with my stay? Extremely unprofessional and lazy. I'll update if I get a response or how my deposit refund goes. read more

I was charged excessive move out fees after living here for a little over a year. I was very careful not to damage the paint or put any holes in the walls when hanging artwork. Upon move out I was billed for a full re-paint of the unit. I requested documentation of what needed to be repainted. After months of waiting I was told that no documentation existed and they couldn't tell me why the unit needed a full re-paint. I offered to show the photos I had taken of the unit when I moved out as evidence of the excellent condition of the paint and requested that the charge be removed from the account. I was told that Greystar had no interest in reviewing the photos and that they had no obligation to provide evidence of damage and the charge would not be removed. Overall, the property is mediocre. It looks nice from the outside but the construction is incredibly cheap. Garage doors remained broken for the majority of my residency at the property. The floors and walls are paper thin so you can hear every footstep and door close in neighboring units. read more

Do not be fooled by this place because of it's new appearance and 'amenities'. -Your car will get broken into, DESPITE having a garage. Happened to mine, and I've lost count the number of times I saw cars without windows or shattered glass on the floor. -The garage doors work properly about 50% of time. They will break, and they won't fix them for months. One was broken for about 5 months before it was finally fixed. -Your packages WILL get stolen from the mail room. Ours did, and we weren't even offered a cursory apology. They made it seem like it was my fault that it was stolen The staff there is decently friendly, and the maintenance staff does address things quickly when they can, so that's a plus. You WILL pay when you move out for "cleaning" charges. They will charge you for normal wear & tear items that others don't charge for. Be prepared to either go to small claims court to get that money back or make peace with the idea that you'll lose a bunch of money when you move out. I'll give one star based on my experience yesterday and today. There are parties going EVERY WEEKEND! The maximum guest allowed per household is 2, there was a 20 people party on Friday afternoon when everyone is wfh. And a 30 people party on Saturday. They are soooooooooo loud with music and a DJ?! I can hear every single word they talk downstairs. I'm I the fifth floor btw. If possible, I wish I can move out ASAP! I called and came to the office regarding this issue since I have a reservation of both pool and club room. However because some resident brought a 20people party in and abused the amenities. I cannot go and enjoy my reservation. The community do talked nice and said they will solve the issue. However things kept happening. I'm really disappointed on how they manage the community and how they promise nothing. Btw, this is a smoke free community, I still see some one smoking. If you like party, find a friends here and celebrate. If you want a quite place to live and rest, DO NOT COME TO THIS COMMUNITY!!! read more

Stolen car from inside gated parking garage - During a very stressful situation of getting my son's car stolen from the parking garage of the Property; the office staff didn't seem to categorize this incident as eventful or important, they responded faster to two halfway-painted walls and a stained carpet the day of the move-in, than a car being stolen. They simply didn't show much care and they lacked empathy and compassion towards a concerned resident. From 10:00 AM when this was first reported the incident, 6:00 PM came around without any feedback of video footage findings (despite a camera by my parking space, another one between the elevator along the way towards the gate, and one more by the exit gate) never mind a quick "we're looking into it, please be patient". What has happened to common courtesy? The next morning an email arrived with "we reviewed a few cameras in the parking garage and unfortunately did not see any activity regarding your vehicle" while the email closed with an apology to the incident, an apology, after lacking empathy and compassion at the time of the stressful situation, is a little too late. How about showing care by focusing on the cameras I indicated are near my parking space, or the one along the way heading out to the exit and the third one at the exit gate? How about being honest and share if cameras are not properly set up or not working properly. The bottom line, a car can't just vanish. More to come on the outcome. read more

Beware these Greystar places will scam you with move out fees. Made sure that my place was in great condition during the move out--cleaned the place, no holes in the wall, no damaged paint and they still charged over 500$ in "move out" fees. Not to mention that we were promised that our cleaning fees would be waived because we couldn't move into our unit until a month after because the unit was damaged (balcony door was stuck wide open, floor boards were up). When it came to the move out date, they pretended like it was not valid and apparently decided not to note it on our file. We gave them email proof of an employee confirming that we had our cleaning fee waived and they still said it didn't mean anything. We also scheduled a move out walkthrough of the place with one of the office managers and took time off of work to meet them before we moved out so we could show them the place, but when we showed up the managers "weren't there". We wasted time out of our day to schedule this appointment with the greystar/Lynhaven managers and they didn't bother to show up or be available at the scheduled time/day. Greystar will do absolutely anything to take your entire deposit and more, even if the place is in mint condition. The living conditions aren't much better. Floors are extremely thin, so you literally hear pounding if your upstairs neighbor walks around. Things were cheaply made and always breaking (microwave, sink, cabinets). Amenities had broken tvs that were never fixed and the gates were literally always broken. In my entire 18 months of living there, I think both garage gates were only operable for 3-4 months in total. It was laughable. TL;DR: Greystar will scam you out of money during your move out date and the apartments are very cheaply made. read more

Highly recommended! Very beautiful apartment complex with good amenities. The recreational areas such as the pool and spa and the gym are always spotless. The club house has all the things you need if you rent out the space for a private event. And the rooftop super cool and comfy to see sunsets also they have grills!! *note of course this are all shared spaces so at times you have to share the space with more people which is normal for a community like this. The leasing office staff are so friendly and also very helpful. Since is a big apartment complex of course it is understandable that some times is may take them a little longer to accommodate your needs or answer your questions or concerns. Can't say enough good stuff about Lynhaven. I love the central location in the heart of everything, with easy access to restaurants, services and shopping -- including Valley Fair and Santana Row right down the road! -- and convenient freeway access for when I hit the road. The apartments themselves are super nice, and the common areas like the game room, pool area, gym, and conference/work spaces are all top shelf. My favorite space is the rooftop patios. All in all it feels like living in a resort! The property is well appointed and maintained, and I really appreciate the promptness with which the management and maintenance team jumps on the inevitable issues that arise in any large luxury apartment community. Everybody from the manager to the maintenance folks have always been attentive, professional and respectful to me. I especially appreciate how they do the hard work of enforcing rules -- about things like when garbage goes out, number/volume of guests, where pets do their business, etc. -- while understanding that "life happens" and respecting the comfort and safety of ALL their tenants. read more

I've had enough. On Apr 5th 2023, a false fire alarm went off in both of the buildings of Lynhaven at 4 am, waking up EVERYONE while forced them to evacuate into the cold California night. The management did NOTHING until the fire department shuts the damn alarm off. And it's this same management, charging you money every chance they had. I personally got fined $100 for being locked out, because the damn door shuts and locks itself so freaking fast. They have a mandatory "valet trash" fee of $35 that they bill you every month, even I live 5 steps from the trash room and want to decline the service. And yeah, the "valet trash" people don't even work on weekends, and refused to collect my trash once because "the bag was not properly sealed". Don't get fooled by the beautiful pictures of amenities on their website. They are very badly maintained due to how cheap this management is. 4 out of 5 nights the pool lights are off ever since I remembered. The outdoor furnitures are disgusting because they never got cleaned since I moved in last August. It looks like someone peed on the chairs by the pool. The "rooftop deck with grills" have never been cleaned so don't even bother to use because you are going to embarrass yourself in front of your friends. Oh and of course in this "nonsmoking" apartment complex you can frequently smell weed down the hallways. I wish I had never moved into this freaking apartment. But they are going to charge me 2 months rent fee if I'd break the lease early. After all, renters are weak and separate. The apartment management can really torture you if they are willing to. So make your choice wisely while you still have a chance. Run! Run fast! Run far! read more

I really like Linhaven apartment complex, despite few things. It's a nice place with good facilities but very expensive and with garage security issues. We had a thief problem while renting there. I wouldn't recommend living here. Management doesn't seem to care about issues like theft and car break-ins, both of which happened to me. When trying to talk about these issues with them, they offered nothing except for either "that didn't happen" or "there's nothing we can do about it". And that's only if they get back to you at all. I had to follow up on both issues because they said they would get back to me and they never did. Maybe it's not entirely their fault but let this serve as a warning to prospective residents that these issues (theft, break-ins) do occur here. If you care about safety and your personal belongings I would highly recommend looking at other places to live. For the amount of money you pay to live here, you should expect more. like working garage gates, active security, and working elevators. Other issues include: 1. Thin walls/floors - you can hear everything your neighbors do, even if they are not being unreasonably loud. Even normal walking around can be heard like it's happening in the next room. 2. At least one of the garage gates is always broken. They say this increases security because there is only one entrance for would-be thieves to go and they have security at night but my car was still broken into and I haven't seen security on the premises in a while. 3. For the past couple months, one of the elevators hasn't been working. It's been stuck on one of the floors and then you have to wait for the other one to not be in use. And depending on the time of day, you could wait for a couple minutes because it's busy. Overall, the apartments themselves are nice and modern, however, for "luxury" apartments, I don't think they meet that standard of living. read more

First, the management is inefficient and the pest control is a nightmare. The property has a very bad ants issue. You will wake up at morning and see a lots of ants coming to and out of your bedroom. Second, management is charging mandatory trash fees even if you don't need someone to collect trash for you. Sometimes, the trash service company never show up for the day. And, you have to pay expensive bills if you just forget to collect the trash bin back to your home. $100 for one violation. Third, the management is going to make this property as an Airbnb place. I would have rated this apartment 5 stars if not for the crazy trash bills that I got - I got 100 dollar trash bill! They claimed I violated the trash rules and charged me 100 dollar for it. When I tried calling the leasing office, the staff member's tone of voice made me very uncomfortable - I felt disrespected. Even if she didn't have the proof, she refused to refund the money back to me. Another thing is about their refer bonus - when my friend toured the apartment, they were promised to get 1000 dollar refer bonus when I refer them. Then they changed their rules saying we could only get 500? After two months of arguing, the apartment still didn't get the bonus to me. They always "promised" to call me back or email me back, which they never did. I just felt sad and upset about these experiences - they could definitely have done better to make the residents a lot happier very easily. read more

My friend lives in this apartment, invited me for a drink and gave me a tour, wish I could also move in. She told me she booked the club house and pool so we can talk and drink there. But when we arrive, a huge party (20-30 people) with loud music (with a DJ and a few speakers) is going on. There is no way that we could use either the club room or pool/spa. She called the office, the office agreed to ask them leave and move some space for us. But after an hour, NO ONE shows up. My friend told me this happened EVERY SINGLE weekend Friday-Sunday. Some resident bring lot of guests, occupied the public amenities. Plus the garage there always has cars' window broken. From my friend and my visit experience this is a property with very poor management. If you have friends living in a lynhaven, go for party. But DO NOT live there. read more
