David is a professional in his demeanor and therapeutic style. Having a back injury, I've been to many different massage therapists over the years and had hundreds of sessions. Communication and mutual trust is crucial in a therapeutic relationship. David likes to use a 1-10 pressure scale which I have found useful. As he is applying pressure to a specific muscle or knot he might say "take me to a six", for example, as he increases the pressure. Applying the right amount of pressure is important as injures can occur if the wrong amount of force is used. I've experienced this first hand so I like the system in place here. David also introduced me to red light therapy which is an interesting and burgeoning field of science. I've had good results with what he has applied. read more

I've had many many massages in my 60+ years of life, but David is by far the best. I've been using him now for almost 3 year. My husband and I call him the amazing healer, because he always knows how to find the root cause of any aches and pains. He then uses various neuromuscular approaches to resolving them. I always walk out feeling like my issues are resolved. We honestly think his approach is a critical part of aging well and avoiding unnecessary surgery for issues that are really just muscle imbalances. Nobody that I've tried even comes close to David. read more

Yesterday was my second time having a massage with David at Elements of Bodywork. I absolutely loved and he's very knowledgeable and truly helps his clients learn about their body. He's very patient and kept me calm while helping heal my injured shoulder. July 2015 I was I a car accident being hit from behind which caused a shoulder injury. I received the approval to have a neuromuscular massage done. I looked into Element of Bodyworks and found out that they also cover FSA benefits. David really helped me a lot in November 2015 during my first appointment. This is the first that I've constantly booked and recommended a massage therapist, but he's that good! Highly highly highly recommend him to injured, stressed, relaxed, couple clients that wishes to also receive knowledge and great service! read more

David Parks at Elements of Bodywork has more effectively treated my musculoskeletal issues than the chiropractors, soft-tissue specialists, and physical therapists I've visited over the years. His knowledge of the musculoskeletal system is incredible, and he leverages that knowledge to provide excellent, efficient, and effective treatment every time I go to see him. David goes above and beyond when it comes to identifying and treating ailments. He listens to his clients and is truly committed to providing the absolute best care. The value for my money at Elements of Bodywork is really unmatchable. I cannot be more thankful that this business exists. Thank you David and Karen for bringing health and healing to Charlotte. read more

Karen is the best most knowledgeable massage therapist I've ever had. She has even helped me when MD's couldn't. MRI and cortisone weren't as effective as she has been. read more

You will not find a better treatment or sports massage in Charlotte. The owners are incredibly knowledgeable in their area of medicine, professional in their approach and deliberate in the way that they run their business during the COVID pandemic. I was there last week and felt completely 100% comfortable in the environment that they provide during these crazy times. I will be back soon. read more

I started going to David years ago when he was at Modern Salon before he and his (now) wife opened their own place above my naturopathic doctor in a cute house in Elizabeth, and now is on Providence. He is both gentle and strong. He helped me get through some really bad neck pain caused by stress and an improper bike fit, which on a triathlon bike can wreak havoc in such a low aggressive position. He is generous with his time, is very zen, and just has a magical touch. He seems to "read" body reactions very well and he understands physiology and psychology very well. They have a variety of treatments. Next time I'd like to try a wrap. I highly recommend David and think he is the best masseur in Charlotte. My only reason for not going to him on a regular basis? Pure and simple: Budget. When I'm a rock star, I'll have him on retainer. read more

The intake process was effortless and the appointment was on time, unhurried, centered, grounded, enthusiastic, authentic AND focused attention was given to my needs/concerns. Using language that was understandable along with helpful charts/illustrations, David directed his impeccable competency towards my issues, and immediately devised a strategy and short and long term plan along with exercises to do at home...to help solve my body complaints. His office is extremely conscious and squared away, well designed. David was friendly, personable but still very very professional. I highly recommend David, especially if you have a work or sport/yoga related muscle injury. This is no ordinary massage. If you want to learn about your body, get yourself back to optimum shape, this is the place to go. read more

I have been on a hunt to find a replacement for my massage therapist (who was truly amazing), ever since she retired from massage. I tried several places and always left feeling disappointed and less than thrilled with the results. I am an esthetician who spends most of my days standing and leaning over my clients, which really takes a takes a toll on my body. I need therapeutic massages to keep me going. I'm so relieved to say I finally found my new massage home at Elements of Bodywork. Karen is amazing (as I'm sure David is as well)... she makes sure to really focus on the areas that need special attention, her pressure is perfect and she always gives you your full time (not all places do). Great location in Dilworth with plenty of parking... just don't drive over the parking median like I did last time, because I was literally euphoric from my massage (trust me, it is hard to get me THAT relaxed). Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a great massage therapist. read more

Superb, quality service every time. Goes beyond a massage into therapeutic benefit for any areas needed. Great to support #local as well!

I saw Sarah on last minute notice because I had so much tension in my shoulders and neck, which was giving me such terrible headaches. She was so kind, and really attentive to my aches and pains. It also helps that the environment was so calming and relaxing from the moment you walk into the door. I will continue to be Sarah's client, she's a hidden gem. read more

This was a great appointment. I was searching the web to find a therapist to assist me with a workout injury. As a first time client, I was extremely impressed by David's knowledge and willingness to get me out of pain. He offered additional stretching techniques to help with any long term pains. I will be a repeat client and look forward to sending more of my friends and family. read more

I've had severe back problems for almost 30 years and had surgery back in 1997. Finding an excellent massage therapist is critical to my everyday function. After searching for 6 months since moving to Charlotte, I am very happy to have found David Park. I actually found him through Yelp.com and bought an online introductory offer that saved me $15 on my first session. David is exactly as the other reviewers describe him. He took his time, got to know me and my reason for being there, and meticulously worked on my back like it was his own. It's been 15 years since I had a massage therapist who was this good. I decided to get his 5 visit package. I might even buy a separate package for my wife. If you need someone who will really take care of you, this is the place. I feel better than I have in a very long time. read more

David was wonderful. He listened to what I needed and provided top of the line treatments. Already have my next 4 appointments scheduled.

In January I was in a car collision that forced my steering wheel into my knee at 60+ mph and wow, did it hurt! Since then I've been in constant pain. Nothing was broken but the internal damage to my knee kept me in wincing pain for the last few months. I asked David about a new treatment he had and he invited me up for it. I went up and got a 90-minute treatment on my knee with his infra-red laser and I was skeptical at first but the proof is evident now. My pain has reduced by 1/2 what it was when I walked into his office. I am no longer a skeptic of this treatment and want more. My pain level was around 4-6, higher if I'd been on my leg for many hours at work. Now it's well below a 2 and sometimes I even forget to elevate it because the pain isn't there like it was before this treatment. Get in and see David if you have any aches or pains and see what this treatment can do for you. I promise you won't regret it! read more

David is amazing! I've been having pain issues with my neck, shoulder and ankle for a long time. He spent considerable time, getting to know my pain issues, showed me several exercises to strengthen my muscles and talked with me through the session, explaining what he was doing and how the muscles relate to each other. I like that he made education a part of the therapy treatment by teaching me simple, effective methods that I can implement at home. For the first time in months, I can move my neck without pain and the 'knots' are gone. I've had massages before but David is a true professional, extremely knowledgable and seemed to find every kink. I highly recommend him! read more

I was visiting Charlotte and ended up with terrible back pain from being on the road, and needed a prenatal massage ASAP before getting on a cross-country flight. I booked a massage with David at the last moment, I really had no idea what to expect, but he had availability. I get regular clinical massage, so I am kind of picky. He did a fabulous job, I have already passed his name on to my friends that are regularly in Charlotte. The office was clean and tranquil. He did a great job of focusing on my lower back, which is exactly what I asked for. I hobbled in to the office and I walked out. I would definitely recommend and use him again. read more

David had provided the best massages I have every received. He is a true professional. He can tell if you work at a computer all day, right or left handed, sleep on your stomach vs. back, and everything else. And he knows how to get every "kink" out to provide optimal stress relief. He doesn't only give great massages, but also provide tips/tricks to help with the problem areas people have. I highly suggest a visit to his very convenient office. read more

Not only did David give an amazing deep tissue massage he also was able to provide pointers on how to help alieviate the pain every day. He followed up providing additional tips and links via email. I will definitely be using him again. read more

David is excellent and my husband says the same about Karen. Just had a 90 min massage it could not have been better. Highly recommend.

Karen always checks in with me before the massage to see how I am feeling generally and what areas should be targeted. She is able to release tight areas and the pressure level is perfect for my needs. I always leave me feeling so much better and relaxed. I also appreciate her additional advice and techniques for me to do at home to help relieve my chronic shoulder and trap area tension. In addition, she and Dave are always so warm and welcoming! read more

I have Ankylosing Spondylitis- a disorder that affects the spine and can cause intense pain, a hunched-back and the inability to hold your head up- literally. Recently, I had a flare that doctors threw lots of pills at: I was given prednisone (steroid) and norco (pain pill,) though I had no relief. I could not work. David Parks, owner of Elements of BodyWork, took the time to discuss my condition with me and the muscles involved and what may help. He used Cold Laser Therapy on my back, rib cage and neck. I limped into his office using a cane and came out standing up straight for the first time in two weeks. The pain relief is enormous! I literally cried from feeling like myself again. Thank you David and Karen, for doing such an amazing job and really listening and helping me! You are both truly awesomesauce and I can stand and face each day again- there are no words for how amazing you both are!!! I have not had to take a pain pill since and am happily back to work, doing what I love, because of your tremendous help! Trust me folks, there are treatments for pain that David and Karen are well-versed in and I am so glad they are in the business of helping people with their compassion, understanding and expertise!!! read more
