This review is strictly based on their front desk and not any of the massage therapists. I have the membership at a different location but I called this location and was told that I "should be fine" and she'll call the manager to double check. I am on time to my 7pm appointment but before I go in, I ask that they double check that my membership transfers over so I am not surprised when I come out from my massage. The same person I spoke to on the phone said, "oh let me call my manager now" (why didn't she call before I arrived?). I said sure and headed to the bathroom while she did that. I come out and she still does not know. Minutes later, it was 7:10 and I asked if this would effect my 1 hour massage and she said yes by 10 minutes. I don't know how this is acceptable so I just left. Again, I'm sure this place has great therapists, but reception needs some help. read more

I had a Massage as a transfer from Montclair (which closed) at which time, I was told by the front desk staff at Nutley, that I could make my next appointment because my membership was transferred to Nutley. Therefore I scheduled my next massage. I called and left messages on 2 occasions to make sure I was indeed a member, after the monthly funds were never deducted from my account. I never received a call back but was delighted to receive a text message regarding my next massage scheduled 7/7th. I arrived early, only to find out I was being charged non membership price and then a $35 cancellation fee, because I am not a member. I am still unclear why I couldnt complete the paperwork and become a member and pay membership fee. The poor &mis-communication provided by the front desk staff is disappointing and truly unacceptable. No customer should be penalized when staff gives misinformation, does not answer the phone and does not return calls. They claim to provide a $40 discount for new clients. If my initial appt was a transfer. This apt should have been considered new. They refused to be accommodating. They preger charge $35 for no service and loose $79/mth X 2 (hubby and I are regulars. I also learned that my initial massage therapist left Nutley and I cannot find my fave from Montclair. I came here yesterday with my mom and cousin for a girls day and once we got inside I saw that it was very clean and there was music playing which already got me more excited for my massage because I was definitely due for one.....my cousin was already in the room getting her massage so me and my mom sat and did the paperwork and answered questions as far as where to massage and where not to massage and I made sure that each answer to the questions I put light to medium pressure and when I got to my feet to have light pressure.......after we finished the masseuse came out for me first and I had Lisa and about 5 minutes later I saw my mom had Vanessa once I came out the restroom: when I came in the room and closed the door Lisa went over my paperwork I did earlier and she could tell that there was tension from my upper to lower back because I'm a wheelchair attendant at a airport and I explained a little of that to her as far as the passengers I push and once we finally started with the massage and told her I picked the aromatherapy which was about four to five scents to choose from and I picked the spearmint I can honestly say that Lisa exceeded my expectations as far as when to put a little pressure and when to do light pressure though she would ask me "How am I doing" "Is it too much pressure" "Should I loosen up a bit or is it okay" and there was times where I told her to use medium pressure and when she got to my back to use a mix of medium pressure at the top and going down to my lower back to use light pressure and once she got to my feet I told her to use light pressure for sure.......once time was up she gave me a bottle of water and a piece of chocolate and as I was getting dressed I felt a whole lot better and she came back in about five minutes later to check on me and I thanked her for her services and told her I would come back soon and ask for her personally because she did a good job.......the place is clean and we were greeted by Jasmine at the front desk who was nice and answered our questions if we had any so all in all I was very satisfied with everything and I may be coming back soon for another soothing massage and enjoy another full experience to have my stress, pain and tension just melt away read more

I was so excited to come to this location . I received the most disrespectful customer service ever from this place. I made an appointment a day before and confirmed the day of a couple hours before My appointment on my way home from work I caught a flat tire I received a text message address to another person ( Robert) confirming my appointment I'm a female .so I figured let me just take a picture of me on the side of the highway in a thunderstorm to the establishment so I can reschedule. I called and I called the receptionist was sweet but was not very helpful asking me if I could come out at eight I said sure I can try it's 838 and I'm still on the side of the highway she informed me that her manager said that I could reschedule but I would be charged $35 I asked the young lady to have her manager called me she said she would try I haven't heard back From thr manager but my card sure was charged three times! I had a great experience , the front desk was very nice and pleasant , the sound and smell in the hallway are very relaxing .My massage therapist Tanisha is very nice, she asked me what part of the body to focus and she gave a special attention to parts that I mentioned (back and legs). I bought a Groupon for three 30 minute sessions and it is definitely worth it. I still have two more sessions to go, but I can see myself returning after I've used those. My therapist was very nice and worked on the areas I needed most. She applied the right amount of pressure and even showed me some stretches I could do to help alleviate my tight spots. It is a simple spa, but what more do you need? They have aromatherapy or hot stone that you can upgrade on to your session as well. Great place overall! read more

Horrible experience here. I went once, joined a monthly membership program. The massage was lousy and way too deep after numerous times I kept saying please go lighter. I was in pain for a week afterwards, it ruined my vacation and made my back problem even worse! I recently suffered a heart attack and decided after the experience that I wanted to cancel my monthly membership. Even after explaining to them that I had a heart attack, they still required me to come in personally to cancel. They obviously have no compassion at all. The young girls working there at the main desk have to clue what they're doing. The nerve of them to charge me a second month and I didn't even go for a second massage. On top of the extra charge, they had the nerve to charge me $35.00 to cancel an appointment!! I was well within my 6 hours of cancelation time. Again, just had a medical emergency and they can't even comprehend that... It's an unprofessional place and there are so many better places to go to. The charges WILL be disputed! Decided to gift myself a deep tissue massage for my birthday and was very disappointed when I left! The front desk was very helpful and courteous but my masseuse, Catherine, was extremely unprofessional. She spent most of my hour complaining about her life, about people who don't ascribe to her vegan life choices, complaining about CLIENTS and cursed more items than I can count. The place is very clean and well decorated. Although I did notice a faint moldy smell in some of the massage rooms. Also can hear the foot steps of the people walking upstairs from the spa and that can be a little annoying. The front desk staff are usually nice. I checked in on yelp for a free upgrade but I noticed at the end of my session they still charged me for that upgrade. The massage therapist you get can be hit or miss. I have yet to find any therapist that is that great and worth another try. Last male therapist I had used very little lotion and was tugging at my skin and it hurt pretty bad. Also have noticed that some therapist don't cut their nails well enough and you can feel it during the massage. Overall, I'd probably just go to use gift cards I receive or I'll check out another location. Parking can be a hassle! Metered parking and if it's a early weekday the municipal parking behind the spot is always full. Might have to park on a residential road and walk to the spa. read more

My husband and I visited Elements Message for a couple's message during our vacation. Damon and Emma were our therapists. From the moment we stepped in, the front desk staff were very polite and very inviting. The atmosphere was set to relax you and that's exactly how we felt, especially with the heat outside. My husband stated that Damon did a great job, and he felt sooo much better. Emma really took care to make sure I was comfortable with the pressure and that she got to address as many knots as possible (I had many). I would definitely recommend the spot to anyone!!! I was in disbelief how unprofessional he was towards me. He hung the phone up on when when I asked if he would have the person I previously spoke too about my membership follow up with me since she was not there when I called. He said he could not do that and hung up on me when I called back I asked if he hung up on me he said yes he did because he was on the phone with me too long. I told him I would let his manager know how unprofessional he was when replied saying I should let his manager know he hung up on me and then started yelling at me. I am a member who spends lots of money monthly at elements massage and to get treated like this I will never go back to this location or recommend anyone goes to this location I'm so shocked that this is the people they have working and dealing with guest they have horrible hospitality. This is a place people should go too to relax but for a expected mom this stressed me out and traumatized me that I was treated this way. Okay, let's start off with the pros here. I have to say that it's pretty clean facility. They set the mood right, there are candles and soothing music, polite staff, one one tried to oversell the membership to us and were actually really nice and professional. However, the massage itself was mediocre! This is coming from someone who gets massages often and because I had a Groupon I wanted to give this place a chance, despite the negative reviews. I was skeptical at first but didn't want to assume anytime based on previous reviews. Yesenia, I'm not sure what happened but why was the hot towel at the end skipped? And I specifically asked to include my gluts which didn't happen, also at the end when you walk out, they give you a bottle of water, I was given the mini bottle of water vs the person I went with has a regular size one. I know it may sound petty but I felt like all she did was rub lotion around my back. The Groupon was 119.00 for a couples massage which is pretty high for the quality of service I received today. This WAS my favorite place, but they have changed sooo much. They ran out of scented oil so my masseuse had to use unscented lotion! This did NOT work-what a poor substitute. Part of the spa experience is the aromatherapy, not to mention my sensitive skin's reaction. The massage did help alleviate my back pain, but somehow the experience was not up to standard and I will think twice about going here again. It just feels like a cheaper version of the luxurious spa it used to be. The nice little things were missing; for another example the sound track must have been broken.
