But the folks who work here are total gems. Everyone is so nice and patient and personable. The place is efficiently run. Also, if you like seagulls, this is the place to see them. They're all over trying to grab a morsel from the trash. Decent prices. If you're a Recology garbage pick up customer, you get two free dumps per quarter, I believe. I took lots of trips here this summer dumping loads of sod from a yard project.

I can hardly believe what a terrific operation they have here. Waste pickup service is very good; you get 4 cans: Recycle, Glass, Yard Debris, and of course 'garbage'. A great perk of being an Astoria customer is they send you a window sticker that lets you go in and drop off consumer volumes of yard debris at this collection facility. We've dropped off dead appliances here as well for a fee. I've noted there is a standalone hazardous waste building as well, not sure of its time/availability. Terriific service with a wave and a smile here. Believe it or not, their website does not provide the address nor a map of where this is! I'd say their IT dept needs some help.
