I was looking forward to eating at Elements since the idea of having more upscale American food in West Valley sounded appealing. While not everything was awful Elements still could improve in many ways. Food ordered: appetizer wings which were very delicious, crispy soaked in Buffalo sauce. I highly recommend those. Main course was the rib eye and grilled shrimp. Our plates came with salads that were very fresh. The rib eye was soaked in gravy maybe to add flavoring because the steak itself was lacking flavor and had no wow factor. To our disappointment the grilled shrimp lacked well grilling, it came out raw and still grey. I asked the waiter to take it back to get cooked and when he came back with it, it was obvious it was grilled pressed flat and had grill crumbs all over the shrimp. At least that way it was cooked, but still i was disappointment with the burned grill crumbs and the side rice was dry and tasted old. The place was clean, empty but nice. The waiter was nice and attentive. The restaurant is in the hotel and maybe will do good for guests but for me, I need more. Maybe add a 3rd steak option and better meat quality. I wouldn't rule this place out since it also has a bar with screens, I may only return for those wings. I really do wish West Valley can offer better dining, sadly Elements fell short of that for me.

A nice restaurant is located in the Embassy Suites downtown Salt Lake City. The service and atmosphere were very inviting. The BBQ and margarita flatbread were excellent.

We were celebrating our 26th Wedding Anniversary with a dinner. Compliments to our Chef Scott for a sumptuous Filet Mignon and Blackened Catfish. A special shout out to our server Mike for his awesome mixocology and complimentary cheesecake.

Service amazing especially on a busy night. Food was great! I was surprised by my dish. I will be coming back!

I asked if they could make a combination smoothie since their menu lists single-fruit options like "strawberry smoothie" They seemed unsure what I meant at first, so I clarified that I was hoping for a mix of different fruits. At one point, they even responded with, "are you serious?!", which felt unnecessarily rude. Initially, they said they could try, but then told me they couldn't--I was only allowed two fruits, with the additional fruit costing an extra $1. In the end, I paid $10 for a smoothie, which felt overpriced given the limitations. Most smoothie places offer combination options as standard, often for the same price. For example, other spots offer a variety of mixed-fruit smoothies without extra charges, so this experience stood out in a negative way. Overall, while the food itself is good, the pricing and lack of flexibility--along with the customer service was disappointing.

I wanted to try Dirty Dough because of the infamous Utah Cookie Wars (aka, Crumbl being a big old…read morebully to competitors) so I was excited to see this new location open. I stopped in to get a cookie, and I didn't love my experience. The store is bright and cheerful, but the two employees working the day I visited seemed confused and annoyed. They had zero customers, so it wasn't because it was particularly hectic. Eventually someone came over to help us, and I told them it was our first time ever at Dirty Dough. This got them really excited, and they hyped up how much I was going to love this cookie I was about to order. Looking online at the flavors of the week, I opted for the Cookies and Creme. She said "excellent choice," and went to take an already-baked cookie off of a tray (like a donut shop). I'm not sure if their cookies are supposed to be served warm, but mine wasn't, which was a bummer (especially considering that a single cookie is over $4). I was handed a bright blue box that reminded me of Tiffany's, but the jewel inside was a cookie not a diamond (which, let's be honest, is probably better)! Excited to try the cookie, I opened the box when I got in the car...and I was shocked at the mess that was inside. First, the cookie was really ugly. Like not appealing or pretty AT ALL. At first I thought they had give me the wrong cookie because it wasn't even close to looking like the one on their website. Instead of being fat and decorated beautifully, my cookie was a thin, ugly mess. It was broken and didn't even fit in the box. It looked like a child had decorated it. I guess to their credit, Dirty Dough embraces the ugliness of their cookies, but this cookie was super unphotogenic and falling apart -- I would be embarrassed to take these to a party or to the office or to serve to anybody else. Did it taste good? It was okay. The overall flavor was very sweet and the cookie tasted like it had some artificial flavorings in it. It didn't have that fresh butter and sugar flavor, but more of a fake sweetness that was off-putting. Look, this was a cookie and it tasted good, but it wasn't my favorite. I do think Dirty Dough needs to train their employees better, and at least TRY to make the cookies look at least mildly similar to the photos on the website. That would do a lot to avoid disappointment.

Alicia's Bakery - Where Authentic Mexican Flavor Meets Utah Tradition…read more Alicia's Bakery has long been a local favorite, and for good reason. Having visited since their earlier location years ago, I've watched this bakery grow while never losing the heart of what makes it special -- truly authentic Mexican pastries made with care and flavor that stand above the rest. From their soft, sweet breads to their rich cakes and perfectly balanced pastries, every item reflects craftsmanship and tradition. Simply put, Alicia's Bakery delivers some of the best-tasting Mexican baked goods you'll find anywhere in Utah. I've visited many other Hispanic bakeries, yet few come close to matching their consistency, freshness, and depth of flavor. Because of its well-earned popularity, I recommend stopping by early in the morning to enjoy the best selection before it sells out. The only suggestion I'd make is for the new location to open the second register more often during busy hours -- it would make the customer experience even smoother. Overall, Alicia's Bakery continues to impress year after year. It's a warm, welcoming place that blends community, culture, and flavor into every bite. A must-visit for anyone seeking a true taste of Mexico right here in Utah.
