My dog has been seeing Dr. Dewey for treatment for over 6 years. I started seeing Dr. Dewey when he occassionally came to Rochester. I now drive 4 hours round trip every 6 to 8 weeks because Dr. Dewey is a wonderful and extremely knowledgable vet. He is expert at diagnosis and has the tools to help identify problems and recommend solutions. He also provides access to other specialty vets if needed (cardiologist, internal medicine, etc.) to provide a holistic care program. Dr. Dewey does not push any additional services. I find his entire staff polite and helpful and highly recommend Elemental Vets. read more

My dog has insulinoma, a rare pancreatic cancer and was evaluated by dr Koch who prescribed medications that have been a godsend for our girl. They're the only thing giving her quality of life for the short time that she has left. Dr koch set our dog up with a CT scan but it was several weeks away. I found another hospital facility that was able to get her in the same week, so I went there instead. Afterwards, when I reached out to elemental pet vets for a refill on Daisy's medications, I was told that she had to come back to office for a visit before getting them (another $250 bill after spending thousands). Why does a dog who is terminally ill need a repeat follow up less than four months after evaluation just because she went to a different facility for a CT scan? When questioned on why a repeat visit is necessary and if this was only for additional money, we were immediately dismissed from their services. It makes me wonder if they really value taking care of animals over their bottom line. *How a veterinary office could leave a hospice dog out to dry without life continuing medications is unconscionable, and proves my point.* Other reviewers have written similar complaints about money, and were met with condescending defensiveness in response. This is incredibly unprofessional and Had I of read these reviews prior to coming here, I never would've taken Daisy to them in the first place. Make of that what you will. read more

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Dewey and his wonderful staff. He saved my dog's life after she slipped a disc in her neck and needed surgery. My dog usually gets nervous at the vet but she absolutely loved everyone there. It was very apparent they genuinely cared about her. She has bad separation anxiety and Dr. Dewey and his wife (and staff) spent extra time with her to try to calm her nerves. They are precious people who truly care about the wellbeing of animals. I highly recommend Elemental Pet Vets. We leave 3 hours away and have brought a few of our senior pets to be seen there. We were always very satisfied with the care we received. They took the time to listen to our concerns and worked with us to develop a plan for treatment. We also liked that you can also choice the holistic approach as well . Great staff! read more

Was impressed by how my dog was handled even though Big Jerry was being a jerk. Not out of the woods yet with Big Jerry but we are going back for therapy after his dna testing is done. Loved the waiting / assessment area, much more comfortable than a standard vet cubicle. I did not feel pressured to hurry up, timewise with my appointment, because others are waiting. This practice puts Veterinary Specialists of Rochester to shame. read more

They got the weight of my dog wrong by about 25% (40lb instead of her actual 54 lb), refused her medicine based on their faulty weight, and when I called to try to rectify the situation they told me that 'sometimes scales are miscalibrated by a little.' I went to a different vet to get her medicine where they gave her the appropriate dose based on her weight. In addition, at Elemental they requested people to wear masks but the doctor's mask was below her nose for the whole appointment. I will certainly not be brining my animals back here. read more
