Took my canine here back in January for a chronic cough, and Dr. Ingrid Rhinehart had diagnosed him…read morewith a collapsing trachea. He passed away in March from congestive heart failure. I realize while some symptoms can have overlapping similarities, I can't help but consider if we had caught it in time, the correct diagnosis, my beloved Yorkie would have made it. It seems like the underlying theme for this establishment, along with just about everything else here in this area, is severely inadequate..

SCAM SCAM SCAM DO NOT GO HERE EVER…read more I brought in my cat who was 16 and dying. First, they tell me my cat bit a nurse so I'll be contacted by the health department. They insist I should put her down. She was so close to death I wanted her to pass at home where she's comfortable, not scared to death in a sterile environment. I ask about cremation. They tell me if I want the ashes back it's $600. I quickly learn that the local animal hospital charges $120. My cat died peacefully the next morning in her bed. They also convinced me in my grief to buy a $75 medication that may get her to eat again. This cat was done eating. Then, not the health dept, but a coworker reaches out to me, I tell him all of the above, and I add that I cannot understand how your nurse was surprised that a sick dying scared cat bit her, my cat doesn't have rabies, and stop contacting me. This place also about 3 years ago saw My cat, said she had asthma, and gave me the shadiest instructions to contact a Canadian 3rd party pharmacy for the medicine and the face harness. She didn't have asthma, our old house was just dusty and her symptoms went away immediately after we moved. Total scammers.

The path that lead me to Cornell was not a pleasant one, my dog was unable to walk or even stand…read morewithout being assisted, having been misdiagnosed by my local vet in Orchard Park with arthritis and sent home each time with more pain meds, I decided to call Cornell knowing if anyone could help him, this was the place, I knew in my gut that it was more then arthritis. My first step was to schedule an appointment at which time I spoke with Lisa who went above and beyond to get me an appointment as soon as possible. She was compassionate and caring and very pleasant to speak with, she was able to get me in quickly and I appreciate all she did to get us that appointmant. I drove the three hours to Cornell and was assisted by staff members that took great care getting him out of my van and into the building , my boy was 150 pounds and not easy to lift especially because he could not even help himself get up. Within a short period of time after being examined they knew it was not arthritis , rather a neuromuscular disease. My dog was admitted for five days and started getting better with the meds that they were giving him. that's when I met Dr. Lin. I have no words that can describe what a wonderful, compassionate person she is. She went out of her way to accommodate me so I could visit him while he was in the hospital and in keeping constant phone contact with me on his condition when I was not there. The care and kindness that she showed us was amazing, she felt like a friend that felt my pain. I brought my boy home and he was doing a little better, I had hope. Dr Lin still stayed in contact with me and guided me over the next two weeks on his meds and progress. After showing improvement where Harley could get up on his own and walk a little for a few days, he took a turn for the worse and the disease took over. unable to stand or walk even while being assisted and just collapsing with no quality of life I with a heavy heart had to let my best friend cross the rainbow bridge. Even tho the outcome was not what I wanted it to be Dr, Lin gave me a few more weeks with my boy and I will forever be grateful to her and the amazing staff at Cornell Companion Hospital. The understanding, kindness and compassion they showed from beginning to end will forever remain in my heart.
