Worthless! Have to wait 6-8 MONTHS to get in? What good is a vet that takes that long?

The vet bills are astronomical and follow up visits should not be charged. Dr Shakespeare is very much missed.

I love these folks. Have been to a variety of other vets in Ithaca and they are my favorite by far. Parking is easy, front desk staff is amazing, the techs and vets are knowledgeable and compassionate, and most important, I never feel pressured to pay for expensive treatments for my pets, but I am always informed of all the options. read more

We have used Cornerstone for many years for 3 dogs and 3 cats in the past. Very pleasant at the front desk and the vets and techs are wonderful and compassionate. There has been some vet owner personnel changes but it's still a great place. Fees are very reasonable. My only "complaint" if you can call it that, is that they are so popular and so busy, that's it's hard to get an immediate appointment. read more

The receptionist, Veterinary Nurse, and Veterinarian were all professional, efficient, and kind. My cat and I were treated with respect. My cat was relaxed throughout the appointment. I was given helpful information about care and treatment options. The cost of the visit was very reasonable. read more

Friendly, personable, and they don't bleed your wallet dry for extra tests that aren't needed. Sometimes I go in there, anxious and thinking I need additional testing for my cats, and Dr. Armao usually talks me off the ledge! My cats have also seen Dr. Shakespeare and she's wonderful as well. They sent me very lovely cards after my cats have passed away, all signed by the full staff, all with personal messages. They're recently added a new vet, expanded their office into the space next door. They are deserving of all the growth and prosperity. My only slight criticism is that I wish they had a discount for people with multiple pets. But not sure if any vet office offers that locally, really. read more

We take are two of are cats there they were very good with them and we add a kitty so we have to make an apt for all three kitties and yes money is a plubum for us we're both on ss I get ssi and my other half gets SSD so we're behind on shots we rescued all three kitties two were just babies some one just dropped off and the one is a adult cat some left read more

Absolutely wonderful. I've brought many of my pets to them (specifically Dr. Armao). She and all the staff are friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. The Veterinarians, Vet techs, and staff provide excellent service for my two dogs. Recently, I had them both in for different issues and the Vet called back two weeks later to check and see how they were doing. They do not overmedicate and provide clear understandable explanations of my dog's medical conditions, procedures they conduct, prognoses, and suggestions for wellness. I am also pleased as a senior citizen to receive a discount for their services. They are personable and very kind people. I feel confident in the medical care they have provided my dogs in over 8 years we have gone there. read more

I used this vet hospital for a few years with mixed results with both main vets. 2 years ago my cat died after a battle with heart failure which always seemed to be made worse after he was seen at this vet hospital. I recently found out that therapeutic hydration levels are much lower than they were giving which may very well have caused my cat to die of heart failure (too much fluids can cause fluid build up on the heart and lungs) therapeutic doses are under 100 ml of fluids and they were giving 300 every time. In a healthy cat this is extremely dangerous. In a cat with heart failure, it can be a death sentence. PLEASE USE CAUTION WITH THIS VET!!! Also, do your own research about your pets medical condition and be informed so that you can advocate for your pet to double check that your pets treatment plan is appropriate. read more

I have had great experiences with this vet! My kitty Oona suddenly became sick about 6 months ago and we learned that she was in a dire situation with late stage kidney disease. Everyone was so helpful at the office, the nurses, staff and the doctors, Dr. Armao treated her and diagnosed. They helped me along the way and showed me how to treat my kitty and it was really hard sometimes because I had to give her fluid injections and I'm afraid of needles! They were very patient and let me come in when I felt like her condition was poor, you could tell they really cared about how she was doing. I'm happy to say Oona is now in great shape and we have gotten her disease to a manageable level. I have since moved from Ithaca but owe a lot to this practice for helping Oona and I through that time! read more

As a long time pet owner, I highly recommend this practice. They are thorough, yet conscious of expense. Very good communication between vets and owners. I am so grateful to have found such a great veterinary office. The front office is very organized and polite. The back office is always running on time and the vet techs are very professional. The best part is how great Dr Barry and Dr Armao are with my dogs. One of my dogs is a very sweet but shy pitbull mix and they both took the time to give her treats and interact with her in a way that put her at ease. The rates are very reasonable and I like that they don't seem to over treat. read more

Dr. Shakespeare and Dr. Armeo and their staff at Cornerstone Vet Hospital treat you and your pets like family. They are incredibly concerned about your pet's well-being. They work with you....in a partnership....to make decisions that serve the whole family, pets and humans. They are very knowledgeable, very careful, very thorough. I personally have a diabetic cat who has had a tough time getting her insulin dose right. Dr. Shakespeare worked closely with us, tailoring our program around our preferences and concerns. She was available and kind and awesome. Now our cat is doing very well. Dr. Armeo did surgery on another one of our cats, which had a very good outcome. I can't recommend them more. read more
