Despite requesting to communicate in writing, I kept receiving generic responses directing me to call a phone number. The most surprising response came from Guthrie Support, which stated that they "do not have contact information for the Director of Orthopedics" Ben Robinson and instructed me to call the appointments line and request to be transferred to the Orthopedics Department. In 2026, when appointments, billing, test results, and patient communication are handled electronically, it is difficult to understand why there is no direct written email or contact and why patients are repeatedly told to call a general phone number instead. More than a month later, the only update we received was that the Coding Department had requested a corrected insurance claim. The issue was still not resolved, and we continued receiving generic responses directing us to call instead of providing a direct written communication channel. Below is there copied response : Thank you for your inquiry. We have reviewed your account. Unfortunately, we do not have contact information for the Director of Orthopedics. We recommend contacting your Orthopedics provider through MyChart, as they may be able to assist with obtaining the appropriate contact information. I have always been given respect and support without any fat-shaming. My honest opinion and input matter when talking about my health. I am surprised that a previous reviewer feels Dr. Law was not using best-practice medicine. I have always been pleased by the depth of thought and breadth of information-gathering shown by Dr. Law and the NP's. I have had much more intensive lab work there than anywhere else I have been a patient. When I had a tick-borne illness, the nurse practitioner worked with me to ensure I was feeling better as soon as possible. My interactions with other staff have been positive. I have always been able to secure a same-day appointment when I needed one. I have never had any problems when having blood drawn. I have been able to contact the office by phone or email and my questions were answered quickly. I have seen other MD's in town who like to assure me that I am fine, rather than addressing actual issues. This will never happen at IthacaMed. I feel listened to, and Dr. Law and his staff are advocates for my health.

He lied to my face, blaming my condition on factors that weren't present and lying about my lab results.

There are "a few" things to like about this place. They have a couple of great doctors and nurse…read morepractitioners, but some of the other staff members are amazingly bad. The last time that I went here, I had to call ahead three times for information about certain forms and every person that I talked to gave me completely different information after putting me on hold for a half hour each time. At least the first two were friendly, but the last person -who I ended up meeting at the door- was incredibly disrespectful. When I finally got to the office and she came to the door (because of Covid regulations about entering the building), I asked her several questions and she proceeded to dramatically role her eyes right in front of me and then treated me like I was stupid and wasting her time... and I still ended the day feeling like I had received no actual answers. I actually feel kind of bad for writing a review like this because I know how stressful certain jobs can be, but if you work in a healthcare related environment, having an at least superficially friendly demeanor and some vague knowledge of your job description seems like it would be important and really shouldn't be THAT challenging. Although some of the actual medical staff are great, I've had a number of bad experiences with people in the past. For one, I once ended up seeing a nurse practitioner who in the past had suggested that my family take alternative medicine that "you can't touch because then it won't work." I asked her about a lump, she lifted up my shirt, didn't look at it and then told me I was fine before leaving the room. I waited about an hour for this. Another time, I went in because of extreme pain that I was experiencing in my throat and some very bad ear blockage. The first nurse that I saw shoved q-tips into my ears, making the problem worse and then without asking how I felt, walked away and never returned. I then had to ask a second time to have the problem dealt with by the doctor who ended up seeing me. When I asked about the severe pain in my throat that was making it difficult for me to talk/eat/breathe, she shined a light there for one second and told me that she couldn't see anything and that I would be fine. I repeatedly asked her if she was sure and she seemed perfectly confident in her judgement without looking a second time. I later ended up going to the hospital because of how severe the pain had gotten and it turned out that my entire throat was completed covered in large soars because of an infection and they prescribed me a bunch of meds that got rid of the issue in only a few days. I was happy to have dealt with the issue, but was also pretty angry that I was made to put up with this pain much longer than I needed to because of some unhelpful medical staff at Family Medicine... Going to this place is really a gamble and I can't say that I recommend it because you don't often come out winning...

I was a patient at Ithaca Family Medicine for 15 Years. and they were great. Since they have…read moreswitched over the CMA -- ca. 2022 -- they are the most incompetent, unsympathetic, rude and even illiterate set of "medical" practitioners that I have ever encountered (I use scare quotes because I don't really know that what they do should qualify as medicine, so much as abuse). They are incapable of refilling medications on time, often schedule, cancel or change appointments without informing me, and my medical plan is occasionally changed -- seemingly on a whim -- by practitioners with whom I have never spoken., and who know nothing of my history or chart. The attitude towards health, in general, is putative: you are at fault for requiring a refill on time of a daily medication that they have prescribed (and they often even argue with you about the pharmacy where you wish to pick it up, suggesting less convenient alternatives), you are a nuisance if you require an appointment, and you will generally be "scolded"in a demeaning and dehumanizing way if you are not aware of policy changes of which they never informed you (or anyone else). Its really a shame, as the doctors were superb and erll-loved folks around town for years. But they have almost all retired or gone somewhere else. Now it is a travesty of ignorance mixed with anger and an utterly unfounded, unearned, and abused sense of authority. Horrible. I have never written a Yelp review before, but this place has been bad enough to warrant one.

So the person who left a prior review might have not understood his humor. He's just more old-school re his patient banter. However, in terms of the important thing, the MEDICAL CARE, he is excellent in diagnostics and frequently sends people for blood work and any other tests he feels are necessary, either before or following a physical. This has helped a great deal in terms of my own health care. He has paid far more attention to things that other physicians would never have considered. He is especially excellent and very knowledgeable with his diabetic patients. At my first office visit, I learned more in 45 minutes about diabetes than I'd learned in the prior 10 years at my last doctor's office. Finally, he is the only doctor I've ever known who has telephoned my home on a Sunday morning to discuss a prescription he's sent to the pharmacy on a weekend or other matters relating to lab work results. He is very available to his patients. He has dramatically helped me get much better control of my diabetes and other health issues. He is one of the few doctors in this day and age whom I feel REALLY CARES about his patients. I wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend him.

I started going to Dr. Stevanovic back in September 2019. I showed up for my originally scheduled…read moreappointment, to find out it was cancelled. They had called and left me a voicemail two days prior, about it being cancelled however I never saw it. They then rescheduled me for a few weeks later, and all was good. At the appointment a few weeks later the Dr. insisted on only meeting me, and wanted to send me for blood work prior to doing my physical. I thought this was odd, since I am in my young 20s and healthy and simply just needed a physical. But, I figured it wasn't a big deal and scheduled an additional appointment for a physical. My physical appointment that was a few weeks later ended up being cancelled, and I decided to not reschedule due to my busy schedule. Fast forward to May of 2020, I called the office to have a physical done since I was going out of town for a physical agility test for a LE position. The office got me right in and was willing to sign the necessary paperwork for my physical agility test. However, the Dr treated me very oddly. I was first seen by the Medical Student, who was wonderful, he asked me typical questions about my health, and was very polite, he was to the point and professional. Then the Dr Stevanovic walked in, as soon as he walks in he put his hand on my chin and goes "Wow what an ugly girl we need to get you to a dermatologist, you really are beautiful I'm just kidding babe". The extent of his medical exam was listening to my lung sounds, that was all he did. Then he spent 45 minutes lecturing me on how I'm "too pretty and nice to be a police officer", "you don't want to play with guns they kill people and turn you into a bad person" and "you should consider a nursing position you can work for me beautiful". After lecturing me on my career choices, he proceeded to ask me questions about my significant other. None of these questions seemed to be necessary for my medical exam. Luckily, paperwork was signed for my physical agility test. However I felt like the Dr was extremely unprofessional, and I felt uncomfortable due to his behavior towards me. The Dr wanted me to go get blood work and do a follow up, with him. He stated he wanted to rule out diabetes, despite me having no symptoms of it. I think it is very odd that he wants to do a follow up after blood work, for a condition I have no symptoms of. I am not sure if this is his way of getting more money out of my insurance or his way of seeing a young lady again. Overall, I DO NOT recommend this Dr. If you are a young female or involved in emergency services, do not waste your time and money with him.
