Dr. Law and his staff are my primary care providers. I love being a patient at this office. I am at risk for developing endocrine issues, and I like that the providers have the knowledge base to work with me to improve my health. I am a female in my mid-40's and overweight. I have always been given respect and support without any fat-shaming. My honest opinion and input matter when talking about my health. I am surprised that a previous reviewer feels Dr. Law was not using best-practice medicine. I have always been pleased by the depth of thought and breadth of information-gathering shown by Dr. Law and the NP's. I have had much more intensive lab work there than anywhere else I have been a patient. When I had a tick-borne illness, the nurse practitioner worked with me to ensure I was feeling better as soon as possible. My interactions with other staff have been positive. I have always been able to secure a same-day appointment when I needed one. I have never had any problems when having blood drawn. I have been able to contact the office by phone or email and my questions were answered quickly. I have seen other MD's in town who like to assure me that I am fine, rather than addressing actual issues. This will never happen at IthacaMed. I feel listened to, and Dr. Law and his staff are advocates for my health. read more

Dr. Law really hurt me. For years after dealing with him, I had tremendous depression and suicidality. When you have a chronic condition, your doctor can become your only hope, and Dr. Law really let me down. I felt hopeless and dejected. He was rude, callous, and disregarded my needs as a patient. He lied to my face, blaming my condition on factors that weren't present and lying about my lab results. read more

1. Dr. Law: tells an elite athlete suddenly sidelined drastically overnight, that it's just either depression or a sleeping disorder. I know my body. 12 years of training and competition. I am also female, which according to 2 other women I know who've had similar experiences with Dr. Law, means the number one diagnosis is that it's all in our heads. ALSO : IGNORES THE ONLY ABNORMAL RESULT IN MY BLOOD WORK. He says that he doesn't think it's a problem for thyroid peroxidase antibodies to show up. That means my body is attacking its own thyroid. That's A FACT. He doesn't think the number is high enough to be "clinically significant." But my symptoms aren't clinically significant either. This is because I am female, so they don't really exist. You know what REALLY isn't clinically significant? Dr. Law's opinion. 2. I said I would get a second opinion: HIS EXACT WORDS: I quote: "I would advise you against doctor-shopping." Just let that one sink in for a moment... 3. His office practice billed me for a "Behavioral Health assessment" that was handed to me by the receptionist at check-in- FOR AN OBGYN visit with a nurse practitioner. They just tell you to fill out the forms. I ask later why the charge on my bill for an assessment that I neither requested or recalled receiving. I am told it's an optional form that I don't have to fill out. How about telling me that up front before I am "assessed" and then charged for something I don't need or want? That violates informed consent, by the way. The informed consent I sign agreeing to treatment at this office does NOT include care that I didn't consent to receiving. Informed consent can be revoked at any time. Except in this case, no consent, because I wasn't informed. 4. His practice decided to keep my credit card on file when I KNOW I did not give them permission. At least they deleted it when I told them to. Given that they want to charge me for things that are optional and unnecessary, but not tell me they are optional, that seems a bit shady. 5. Office assistant casually calls out to the other admin, while the "window" is open so everyone in the waiting room within reasonable hearing can hear: "Did that IUD we ordered come in yet?" Thanks a lot. HEY. Ever heard of something called HIPAA? 6. I had almost a 2 hour wait past my initial appointment time for the privilege of being allowed to see the great Dr. Law. 7. Although I am an athlete and muscular, the outdated one-size-fits-all BMI (body mass index calculator) in their electronic system flags me as OBESE. That is hilarious. AND demeaning. I should post a photo. 8. Because I see the NP for OBGYN care, and opted in using the patient portal to text messaging and emails, and phone calls, I am then harassed for two months by robo call, text message, and email to schedule a ROUTINE appointment in the middle of a pandemic. I think not. 9. I unsubscribe to text messages hitting reply on my phone and typing 564STOP which is what the messages say to reply, in order to opt out. I do this four times, receiving confirmation that I have unsubscribed...and continue receiving text messages. This is actually in violation of the FCC TCPA, I believe.Finally I go in through the Patient Portal to try and stop the harassment. Maybe the account settings for the portal do NOT allow unsubscription from text messages by text reply? I have unsubscribed from everything, and if it doesn't stop, a cease-and-desist letter will be my next step. 10. This is the second time I've been harassed for months by this practice for an OB GYN appointment. The only reason for my going to this office for that sort of care is that Kristin Stevens, NP used to work there. She was an AMAZING practitioner. She had to put an end to the harassment once by telling the office manager to stop. She retired, and I thought her replacement was pretty okay. The office practice? NO. 11. As of 7/28/20, one of the super positive reviews here is by Dr. Law's wife. That's a violation of Yelp guidelines, so hopefully that gets flagged and pulled. 12. I like Hannah Cramer, NP, and she provides good care. But given the overall experiences with this practice, I'm letting them go and finding a new OBGYN provider. (Sorry, Hannah, it wasn't your fault!). 13. They demand a copay even when your insurance covers certain visits at 100%, and you remind them of this. They find other ways to charge you, though. If you are a woman who wants REAL CARE, GO TO PAULA FITZSIMMONS AT WOMEN'S HEALTH OF CMA. I'm on the right meds, feeling healthy and strong again. Give this misogynistic jerk a hard pass. Men? Take your chances if you want. But I think if you say you want a second opinion, you're likely to be advised against "doctor shopping," too. IMHO, one-stop shopping in this office is a mistake. I got sick enough eventually that my condition threatened my job and ability to function. Good thing I got REAL treatment. Dr. Law couldn't be bothered. read more

I found Adam Law initially charming and smart and ultimately terrifying. He insisted I keep on taking a medication that the endocrinologist I finally fled to explained was for the exact opposite condition of what I had, which is why it landed me in the hospital with a condition that could have been fatal. He also, as someone mentioned in another review here, was abysmal at reading MRI results, telling me that they said the opposite of what my very esteemed NYC neurosurgeon said was the case. Oh, and his "24-hour emergency" service didn't call back when I was desperately in crisis. Since then, I've talked to several other former patients with similar stories about Dr. Law. I can't figure out these consistent "mistakes," as he seems like a very intelligent person. I won't even begin to speculate. read more

Ithaca Med is the best Primary Care practice I have ever had. This is across the entire practice from check-in, nurse engagement, blood work, nurse practitioner and Dr. law. Their wisdom and care have made a huge difference in my life. Diagnosing and helping me manage on going care for autoimmune issues. I wouldn't want to go to any other doctor. He has guided me carefully through several difficult health problems, and I feel totally secure in his hands. I've read a few reviews that suggest he is stand-off-ish, but that is not at all my experience. He is British and has that initial reserve, but through time, he has become very accessible, warm, and witty. I think it's also important to remember that he's not in the entertainment business. He will take excellent. See if your health needs and then you can go home a watch SNL reruns. read more

This endocrinologist is not a good doctor at all if you have a thyroid issue (he may be better for the diabetes patients). He is not skilled at reading test results (this is not opinion, this is according to everything I have ever read and according to another doctor's rereading of my results). He doses your thyroid according to TSH numbers (this is a pituitary hormone and only raises if you are depleted of thyroid hormone -- this is a very old-fashioned and lazy way of treating thyroid issues) and is not willing to discuss his protocol or even explain it. To me, this indicates that he is either insecure or not very knowledgeable. I also found him apathetic in a weird way -- not even good at faking a reasonable patient-doctor interaction like other doctors can usually manage. He is also only willing to use one medicine, which research shows is not very effective for most patients. His nurse practitioner parrots the same lines as he uses, so you will not get a different take on your results from her, either. Her advice for me was to change to smart-wool socks so that my feet didn't get as cold? Wow -- we are talking about a medical issue and she wanted me to change my socks. They often run an hour behind and do not even act like it's an issue for the patients sitting in their waiting room. No apology. No acknowledgement that he's wasted an extra hour of our time. I take that as him being really pompous and assuming that his time is more valuable than mine. The nurses are not very skilled at taking blood and always leave a substantial bruise -- the only office that this has happened at -- and it has happened at every blood draw there. I've found that Dr. Law is not at all up-to-date on clinical research. He is content treating his patients the same way as was popular when he was in med school, many years ago. Times have changed. I'm very glad that I can advocate for myself and opt for doctors not practicing endocrinology like it's 1975, but I do feel sorry for the people who believe Dr. Law is up-to-date on research that could help his patients. Saved my life three times. Has never been anything but delightful to me. Have a 12 year relationship. The treatment of my condition would normally scare most doctors away because it's very unconventional and involves the use of drugs that are usually not combined and he smart enough to know that it is the right one for me. Even moved out of town and actually moved back into the state because he was doing such a better job with me. I can't say enough kind things about Dr. Law. I'm kind of astonished there's any bad reviews for him but I have to say one thing. It's very telling when there's nothing but five star reviews and one star reviews. It doesn't add up. Usually that means the business is faking it but I know my review was entirely heartfelt. I know in the past I've had some issues with office staff years ago but the new group is not bad. I wish I had the same experience as the other two women who rated this office five stars. I got there what I felt was an acceptable 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork and the front staff let me know that there would be a wait, which I thought was normal since I was early. Little did I know, this wait was going to be for an hour and forty five minutes. When a nurse finally took me back, it felt like there was no actual human interaction. It felt like I was speaking with a run down robot. After the few minutes she spent with me, quickly getting my information, she seemed to run out of there as fast as she could, I would wait another forty minutes for Dr. Law to actually come in the room. When he started my exam, he barely spoke to me, or explained what he was doing. As I was telling him about my problems, he let me know that they were no big deal and that I was over thinking and worrying too much. It seemed like he tried to get out of the exam room as fast as he could, like he was too busy doing something else, or that his mind was preoccupied. He sent me to get my blood drawn after my exam, and that was a whole other torture chamber. The nurse who took my blood, clearly needed more training. I have very small veins so I need butterfly needles, when I told her this it seemed to irritate her. I wasn't telling her how to do her job, I just wanted to let her know the easiest way to draw my blood without being as painful for me. It seemed as if she missed my vein on purpose and started poking all around with the butterfly needle in my arm. I started to cringe and tears filled my eyes as she rolled hers when she noticed. When she finally got the blood, she stabbed her finger into my elbow with a cotton ball, only to make it hurt worse. Leaving this office after my exam was the most liberating feeling I've ever had. I would never recommend this practice to anyone, not even my worst enemy. read more

Hannah Cramer is my definition of the perfect clinician. She is caring, conscientious, honest, knowledgeable, experienced, thorough, and puts the patient's best interests first. I trust her completely. The office is well-run with very friendly and welcoming staff who work smoothly as a team and can schedule me on a timely basis. If there were ever a more complicated issue, I feel comfortable knowing that Dr. Law is always available to offer input per his expert clinical judgment and broad knowledge base. Brilliant physician, truly cares about his patients.

Dr. Law, Anne Neirynck and their staff are incredible. I am a type 1 Diabetic, and a Family Nurse Practitioner so my expectations for quality care are very high. Dr. Law and Anne have fair exceeded my expectations during my time as a patient at IthacaMed. Dr. Law was very involved during my pregnancy with my son, and came into the hospital post partum to ensure adequate glucose control. My husband was also a patient for primary care, and he always states that he will never find a more thorough physician to help him with this care. My husband was diagnosed with Melamona in situ, and Dr. Law made sure to discuss the disease, treatment and the care he will require indefinitely. Dr. Law was able to think outside of the box on multiple occasions, and thoroughly investigate any abnormalities. We are saddened to leave the area and this incredible practice due to relocating to Rochester. We can thank this practice enough for all that they have offered my husband and I. read more
