We had a nice experience at Element 79. It was one of the stops at the Fairplay Wine Festival and Element 79 hit the mark! We had wine and food pairings, well thought out and delightful. The Viognier was very good and I especially loved the Alloy. The owners take huge pride in their product and that pride shine through. I came here earlier in the year and had THE BEST service by a lovely young lady. I forgot her name but she made the experience amazing! Unfortunately, we came today and were told we could sit only one of two places even though there was no one here. I asked for a recommendation on a good sweeter wine and was cut off instantly by my server saying "we don't have sweet wines" usually the servers hold the conversation about the wine and knowledge etc. She also told us that the information on the flight of wines we ordered was on the paper and walked away. Usually when I go to winery's I like to talk about the wine and learn about it. And that was not the vibe at all. I was a little disappointed. If I would have known that the service would have been sub par I would have gone down to "too good" winery next door. read more

I've visited this winery twice and had the same experience both times - friendly owners were on site and are lovely people. They have several very nice wines, I particularly like the Rare Earth (red) and the Color Sparkling Rose. The winery is beautiful, the view is serene. Go & enjoy! read more

Element 79 was such an unexpected find! We visited TooGood, as a friend mentioned it was open with outdoor seating which is welcomed during Covid, and the server suggested we visit Element 79 next. I am SO glad she did! Element 79 knows nuance. If you are only interested in $12 bottles that knock you upside the head with overripe fruit and oak chips, this isn't the place for you. If you like wine that skillfully balances fruit, oak, acid, mineral, and other amazing flavors, and a knowledgable staff, then look no further. As you see by most of my reviews I don't give many 5 star reviews. This establishment is small and warm. The owners are just as warm and welcoming. I have not encountered many places that serve a cheese plate like they serve here. Holy molé the large cheese plate is huge! Loved how they bring out the tastings to you (instead of having to stand at the counter area and wait for them to pour one at a time). The grounds are small but quaint, and the patio area is lovely. Service was awesome. If you're looking for a relaxing and quiet afternoon, this is the spot. Tastings are $5 for 5 wines (1 white and 4 reds) but don't be afraid to ask for a taste of their rose or Chardonnay! They also serve wines by the glass and charcuterie plates. New favourite winery in the foothills, on stature with Napa wines, given the winemaker has honed his craft there! Beautifully designed tasting room and patio overlooking the vineyards to enjoy and relax. Love the red blends, but also Viognier, Chardonnay and they have sparkling!! Hubby loved the Syrah. Everyone who visits Toogood should absolutely stop by their neighbor, Element 79; it is literally right next door, they basically share a driveway. They make a great Barbera and Viogner. Their chocolate pairing with the tasting was also phenominal. But more importantly, this winery has fantastic ambiance.The inside of their building is clean with a lot of open seating, and very classy open fireplace. Their outdoor deck is just lovely, overlooking a field of grape vines with a beautiful treeline border. As far as ground-level views go, this place is top-notch. Our host, Kellie, did a great job explaining the history of the wines in that region. She really enjoys what she does, and the experience is all the greater thanks to her. As a Sacramento resident, I try my best to steer family and friends away fom the Sonoma-Napa-Calistoga belt, and into the smaller AVA's like the Sierra Foothills, Amador, Lodi, Livermore, etc. I will definitely be referring people to this winery from now on. read more
