Found this business from a Yelp search. My computer hinge came apart. Winstonn communicated well,…read morevia text & call. And was flexible with me to be able to meet at his house & drop off my laptop. The issue was the left side hinge that someone came undone. He left me know he needed to order some screws and the updated price. Once he had the hinge "fixed" he didn't like the way the laptop screen now "stuck out". So he brought a new screen/backing for my laptop. Since he was not personally happy with the way it looked, he offered to buy me a new/used latop. I never saw it with the "poked out" screen but I would have rather kept my laptop. He said he would take some time and research for laptops of my specified specs. So, I said okay. Please let me know what you find before making any purchases. A few days later he calls and tell me that he opened up my laptop, saw water damage, and now miraculousy my laptop NO LONGER WORKS. The screen does not appear - even with external monitors, just black. This was very disappointing and frustrating. Laptop worked fine before I dropped it off, with the exception of the hinge that came undone. Not sure why he didn't check everything (atleast turning it on/off) in the beginning. I even asked if he wanted the power charging cord when I dropped off the laptop. Still dont understand why he would offer a new laptop and then a few days later say my laptop doesnt work and he's not going to replace my laptop. I paid $170 for the service & to get my laptop back, that is NO LONGER works now. Ultimately, I had to purchase a new laptop. I personally would not recommend Added for owners comment : I would not drive nearly an hour back and forth and pay to get the hinge fixed on a broken laptop.. Please, let's be serious here. laptop worked perfectly fine before and when I dropped it off to you. I even sent you pics during our texting. And I offered to leave my charging cord so you could keep it charged etc. as needed. Also, I am not a "computer tech" why didn't/don't you ask questions before anyone drops equipment off to you to make sure you are not wasting yours or anyone's time? I am not being dishonest here or with my review- and I greatly don't appreciate you calling me a liar. Think my review is still fair and told you in person I was disappointed in your service. I waiting patiently for the fix, which you already ordered both parts - and then you asked me WEEKS after the purchase of parts & from when I dropped it off, you asked about water damage for which I said yes- water may have gotten into like two years ago - however it still worked fine for an almost 4 year old computer, so why would I think to mention that? Also, if there was water damage and the laptop was inoperable I would have gotten a new laptop years ago and not went to you to fix a hinge. Perhaps ask questions of customers and their equipment before you take on their project and for you to educate them, for all parties to agree or decline for you to take on their project upfront? That would be a recommendation for my honest, fair review here There is nothing more to say here, I don't generally go back and forth with people but you're trying to defame my character and I don't appreciate that. We will leave my review at this, You seem to have pretty good reviews so ppl can base their desire to use your service on those . I just didn't have a good experience. Good day

Instead of giving up though, I called IQ to see if it was worth saving. After contacting IQ, I decided to bring it in & let them try to save it. After dropping off the laptop to Marcus (IQ), I was reassured by Marcus that it was worth saving. so I left the laptop with Marcus confident that he could clean it & restore it to its original state when it was new as discussed.. I am happy to report that IQ (Marcus) was able to completely restore my laptop. I feel like I got a brand new laptop. I highly recommend IQ (Marcus). He's professional, but most important, he knows what he's doing. Need a computer repaired? lLook no further than IQ Computer Services.

Once I arrived to drop off my computer in Glendale MD, that (btw it not business but house). The man asked me to pay a $49 deposit. After one week that my computer away for me I receive a call from them telling me they will start diagnoses my laptop and let me know the total amount. I requested to cancel the service because I received a flat amount of $150 And I requested to come by to pick up the laptop. I haven't get my computer diagnostic or any file or document show diagnostic on my computer I haven't got any paperwork. I still haven't received my $49 deposit back None of their numbers answer my calls They try to get away from here without give the deposit back. They totally scammers. Trying to rip off an up-sale costumers the bad way. Now I need to run after my bank and look after another computer services provider.

I…read moretook it to Friendly, and while it was a bit of a trip for me, they took it in and discovered the keyboard was welded in, so they couldn't replace the whole thing as I'd hoped, but they were able to transplant the keys. They charged much less as a result, and had said before they started that if they couldn't, they would charge nothing. So strong points for honest and fair pricing. They easily could have taken advantage. My one complaint, for which I ding them one star, is that they're not great with phone stuff. They never called me. When I called them I did so three times, leaving two messages and never got a call back. My third call I got them and was told everything was done, for less money, yada yada. So really, my one complaint is that they need to be better communicators.

I paid $150 for a hinge repair and a charging connector repair, itemized as $75 each. The hinge was…read morefixed. The connector was not; he made me visit the store 3 separate times, wasting my time, only to eventually claim it was a battery issue (a battery he himself had sold and installed in an earlier repair, for $250). When I asked for the $75 refund for the unfinished connector repair, he refused and instead offered to "compensate" with free future fixes for me and my friends, not an actual refund. He also advertises free diagnosis in his own Google reviews, yet I still paid for a diagnosis that led nowhere. When I politely pushed back and asked again for my refund, he got furious, called me a "greedy bastard," used profanity, and hung up on me. This is not how a customer asking for money owed to them should ever be treated. While waiting during my visits, I met other customers with the exact same complaint: repeated visits, no resolution, and eventually giving up on getting their money back. I'm considering filing a formal complaint. I expect he'll reply here claiming diagnosis is free. If you do go here, do not pay upfront and always ask for a proper itemized receipt for any work done.
