So I do blame myself but I told her to very specific with the stylist. I even had an appointment with the same person a couple weeks ago and talked about my daughter's fear of losing length. According to my daughter she agreed to the 2 inches of dead straight hair on the bottom but was very clear about not wanting to lose length all over. The woman took at least 3 or 4 inches off all over her head. Hair that came to her elbows now barely falls past her shoulders and what's worse is that it is uneven. The right side is very noticeably longer than the left side. If she didn't understand curly hair, she should have said something. Maybe she didn't like my daughter or thought she was wrong to express what she wanted and decided to teach her a lesson. Now she doesn't even want to go to the prom. We can't get the hair back and I have to pay somebody else to fix it. We will never go back again.

We had her wig appointment today. She was nervous. She has dyed her hair for years. Most recently, it has been purple. Though they didn't have a purple wig, Lianne was so beyond kind and found a wig that complimented her style. To make her feel more like herself, she added some colored extensions. On our way home, she kept looking in the mirror. I thought it was so sweet. Then she told me that she hadn't been looking at herself in the mirror because she didn't like the stranger who stared back at her. This brought a tear to my eye.
