A four-star rating is what I wanted to give the girl who did my pedicure. While she did not offer me anything to drink, my massage chair was not on and I had to ask, and she told me that they do not have a menu of services or prices, she did a great job and was detailed. I was going to get a dip manicure and when I asked for the menu, she said that they don't have one. I said that I have never heard of anything like that before and she said prices have increased and that they were a business. I even gave the example of a restaurant. I said, "what if you went into a restaurant and there were no prices of what food you wanted?" She said that that was different. That's craziness. At the time, I was the only person in the entire business and now I know why. I wanted to give a one star rating to the business based on this ridiculousness plus how cold they acted towards me after I questioned their business professionalism. Be aware that they will make up prices once you get there because they are not written down nor do they care. DONT GO UNLESS YOU WANT TO PAY $60 FOR BELOW AVERAGE. I just went in for a basic dip manicure, I didn't not ask for anything special, they claim the manicuring is extra.... so you normally apply dip without manicuring the nails? I work as a hairstylist in the area and have worked all over RI and I have NEVER seen a $60 basic dip manicure. THE QUALITY of service is below par, uncomfortable environment that heightened my anxiety as I suffer from general anxiety. They acted surprised as I walked back in and told them I work in the industry and have never been charged that or seen people charging these prices unless they are custom painting or adding long extension tips. Below the photos of black powder left all on my hands, not to mention I have huge gaps on my nails where they did not cover. I did not complain initially about quality because I was just going somewhere other than my normal place as an in-between because my other nail salon is an hour away. If anyone would like to take a beautiful drive, check out Lima Nails in north Kingstown Rhode Island, they are affordable, friendly, always professional and comfortable environment!!!! Worst nail salon I have ever been to. As soon as you walk in it smells of fumes and is dirty. The only reason I went is because I had a gift certificate. I should have never stayed. The guy made me bleed profusely and then continued to use the tools and brushes getting blood everywhere. Completely unsanitary. read more

The nail service is decent at best. They do a fast job so by the end of the week your nail beds are cracked and ugly and your nail polish is chipped and not even. This is with gels may I just add. I've gone about 3 times now due to the convenience of the location. I make appointments and they get me in an hour later. They take walks in before set appointments that they approve of. The prices on the board are wrong as well. Their price board says a UV gel refill will be $25 and they charged me $40 even though I had no reshaping or cut down of my nails. The service is unkind and I do not recommend going. Go somewhere else if you want an actual good quality manicure that worth your money and time. I have had nothing but bad experiences. read more

Read reviews was excited to make this my first nail spot in CT. Was sadly disappointed. I asked for a acrylic nail removal and in process my natural nails got screwed. I get that some damage comes from removal, but never have a had this bad of a job done. It's been weeks and my nails are still taking the damage. They do not use clean and new files which is a health regulation for ever client to have a new file used on them (as it is a health risk). The same sitting I got a pedi. It took them 20 minutes just to figure out how to take the shellac off my nails, they didn't do a great job scrubbing the bottom of my feet. I paid 55$ for a hack job my 6 year could have done better at. Never again! The older man did my nails and he as well as the older woman did my feet. read more

I guess it depends who takes care of you. First time doing my nails here and I decided to get acrylics, the lady didn't cut my real nails nor clean them up in anyway. My cuticles needed to be push back and she did nothing but buff them and add the false nails right away. No massage on your hands with lotion, didn't even get lotion alone. Just very rushed and sloppy work and mind you I was the only person there! NEVER AGAIN AM I GOING BACK! read more

Today I got my nails done this gorgeous color of blue. But, I had, had acrylics on my nails and the women I had CLIPPED my finger nails right off. I recoiled in pain 6/10 times from her clipping through my acrylic. Then she tried taking them off without soaking. She didn't remove the acrylic before cutting them. I am still in pain over 12 hours later from this experience. My grandmother had called and complained and all they said was "sorry" and "you can come back and talk to the lady", which is not helpful in any way. Yes my nails look nice but I had to have her file my nails all to be even. She was going to leave them all different lengths. How unprofessional. She continued to file my skin off NOT one but two of my fingers. She painfully stuck her finger nail into my finger while she was painting. I barely could understand her. She obviously the whole time had no idea what she was doing. She caused me intense pain which made me feel like passing out and I was light headed. For the whole time because of the pain. I do not know the ladies name. But she wasn't very friendly. She was on the older side. But even though my nails look nice and they caused me intense pain they STILL made me pay $25 for removal and painting which was overwhelmingly painful. She would hit the table when she wanted my hand from the UV light. I find this very disrespectful. Elegant Nails is NOT very elegant. Despite if it was this one person. I will never go back. I will not be recommending it to anyone. Ever. Very unprofessional, rude, and don't know what the hell they were doing. If you'd like to get your nails done, I'd suggest Rainbow Nails (in Ledyard Center, CT by Ming Moon) or Rose Nails (in Uncusville, CT in the mini shopping area across from the grave yard and next to a computer place) They have given me excellent results, and beautiful nails and they are very professional and know what they are doing. The owners refused to take my gift certificate and said it was expired (it had been purchased just over a year prior). I told them that CT state law prohibits the expiration of gift certificates or the use of language that suggests an expiration date, and brought the law up on my phone to show them. They said they knew of the law but do not follow it because it messes up their tax preparation and none of the other area salons follow it. They finally took part of the gift certificate ($12) but destroyed the rest (it was worth $35) and told me not to bring my other gift certificate back there. I am out almost $60 and my daughter left her first ever manicure in tears. I have filed complaints with the CT Dept. of Consumer Protection and the Federal Trade Commission. read more

I have been going here for year and today was the first time I ever had a problem and will not be going back. I have been telling all my friends to go here and now I will not be referring anyone anymore. The owns are away on vacation and the three people that are running it for them are rude don't listen to what the customer wants and are messing up nails. My sister was just in there 2 days ago and 3 of her nails just popped off when she opened her car door so she went to have them fix it and they told her she had to pay 13$. I went in there for my fill like always I was there for 2hours never been there that long and I told the lady to do a thick layer of acrylic like I always get and she did a thin layer so now my nails are going to break. Then I asked her to cut then down because they r to long and she didn't even but them down. Then they over charged me for my nails when I go I always get a design and it cost me about 32-35$ with a fill and design but because the owners are on vacation and the people that are in there don't do designs I got the tips painted and they charged me 28$. This was the only place I would go for my nails and the only place I knew I would get great service. This place was like my second home and now because of all the bs I went through with them today I will not be going back. read more
