Elegant Nails was recommended to me by coworker, who absolutely loved how her nails turned out. I typically like to have coffin nails, but I had to have them a lot shorter. I decided to get square shorts nails this time and at first, I was not a fan. Then she put the French tip design on them and they looked amazing! The woman made sure that I liked my nails and shape before going forward, which was amazing. She took her time to make sure they were perfect and I really appreciated that. literally went home crying! I came in super nice asked for acrylic manicure and gel pedicure, right off the rip she was super annoyed with me and acted like she wanted nothing to do with this service. it wasn't busy, she was the only worker when I came in and nobody was in getting a service. when I asked if she had a butter yellow color, she told me to go look at the books cause she has hundreds of colors and she doesn't have time to keep track of a yellow color. super rude about it. I proceeded and while looking at colors she told me to take the books with me so she can get started already. again very rude and annoyed with her approach. she didn't speak at all to me so I tried to ask questions or make small talk and she rolled her eyes the whole time or either gave me another rude remark. I asked her which shade of white she would think bests match the style of nails I was going for and she said "don't ask me. They're not my nails and I don't have to go home and look at them. I don't care what color you choose just pick one." then the whole time she was doing my toes and nails, she was yanking my hands and feet, jerking me around and rushing through it all. if I barely moved she would yank me. and when it was time to put it under the gel light she shoved and threw my hand EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I was holding back tears the whole service and I even tried to kill with kindness. Telling her I loved the shape of the nails, she did so good, etc. Nothing I did or said was making her less mean to me. if I complimented her, she'd ignore me, roll eyes, etc. If I asked for anything I used my manners, please and thank you so much. I'm new here to WV, don't have any friends, family etc. I moved across the country and have been working my butt off, I never get days to just relax or pamper myself and the one day I finally get to, I was crying cause of how horrible I was treated. I thought she was just like that but TWO others came in and she was SO nice to them. she told them to grab some water and hangout until their appointment, she was talking to them and having great banter. Idk what happened but from the moment I walked in, until I left I was so nice and I continued to receive horrible treatment. Once it was time to pay, she charged me 85 for my nails and 65 for my toes. AFTER she confirmed it was 45 and 55. I didn't want to argue so I paid and left and when I left a smaller tip (8$) she said "you can go and have a nice day now" and pointed me out the door. I'm not even angry. do not go to this nail salon! I got a pedicure and the worker cut of my cuticles super deep. A few days later they are super red and hurt real bad! Overall, I'm pleased for a walk in appt. Moved to the area last weekend and was in dire need of a new set. I looked up nail salons near my area and searched for options with the highest ratings. I did not make an appt and walked in on a rainy Thursday afternoon. There were only two other ladies getting pedicures, so I was seen right away by a gentleman named Lou, who is apparently moving to California, so he will not be available in the future. I was informed that they do French tips with gel polish vs dipping the two separate colors. I was concerned about the gel French tip lasting, and one day in, I've already started to see chipping, hence my initial hesitation. I wish more nail salons did the French tip with dip powder. I'm happy with the shape, the length, and the overall outcome. There are some little things I feel were missed or rushed through, but again, I walked in with no appt. The manager, a woman with a very short haircut, was not very personable and seemed very inconvenienced by my design selection. Although, she did okay on execution. I will explore another local recommendations to see if my experience improves elsewhere before returning here. read more

Highly disappointed in the way my sister and I were treated by the staff. There was one lady doing nails and she seemed very annoyed when we walked in to see if there were any spots available for pedicures . She said to come back at 4 but hadn't gotten our names so we went back in just to make sure she had all our info and the lady was EXTREMELY rude to us. We will not be coming back. read more

Crazy...my review from January 2020 (BEFORE covid shutdowns) just today, January 3, 2023 gets a response from the owner. Sorry, but your idea that I posted the review during the pandemic shutdown, and no way I could've gotten a pedicure at that time, is FALSE. I visited the salon before the shutdown ever happened. JANUARY, 2020. I stand by my review, the WORST pedicure I'd ever had, the girl cut into the skin too deeply and left me with bleeding toes. Stop making excuses for BAD services. Perfect location near my hotel. I was able to get in quickly. I came a little early to select my polish and was quickly seated with Ivy. I was happy to see how clean everything was including a freshly sanitized set of instruments that she opened up in front of me. Very impressed! She did a beautiful job making my nails look good. The only reason I didn't give five stars was because I don't think she said five words to me the whole time. It was a very busy morning. But I was taken care of quickly and professionally.
