After about 45 minutes we asked him if he had a custom built pc that would meet my son's needs and be in his price range. He was able to get me a quote for parts and labor, and let me know when he would have it done and that made me so happy.. I don't like to wait for orders online but he let me know he had some extra parts around that he was willing to throw into the deal.. and ultimately because I was so happy with his response time I was willing to pay him a little more. Since then I've been back to Joey and upgraded my machine with him and he even HELPED ME sell my old parts and replace them with the upgrades. My HP laptop battery needed to be replaced so I contacted Simple IT Solutions last October 2020 to…read moresee what it would cost. Based on the price I went ahead and had them install a new battery. When I picked up the laptop I returned home and immediately turned it on. The message on boot up was that the battery installed was not an HP OEM battery and that this could damage my laptop. I called back to Simple IT Solutions to notify them of the message their response was they could make the message go away. This was not the resolution I was expecting to hear from them. He said it would not hurt the laptop so I took their word to be true. By August of 2021 the next issue occurred and it was the battery not charging. I called them and they stated they only warranted the battery for less than a year. They offered to install a new one which I declined since this first experience was indicative that I may have future problems with my laptop if they installed the same type of battery. Now was the battery installed life reduced because it was not an HP OEM battery, I would venture to say this is a good possibility. Because I am not afraid to take on new task, I decided to look at YouTube and found out I could replace the battery myself for a lot less. I ordered an HP OEM battery and went ahead and prepared to install the new battery. When I opened the laptop, I found that one screw was missing to hold the battery in place. this was after they had installed the replacement. Not only did I observe this but also observed the fan was dirty which indicates they did not even take the time to use air to clean the inside. I looked on line to see the reviews on the battery that Simple IT Solutions installed. The reviews gave this particular battery a very low rating. Not only did I get overcharged but, had a subpar battery installed. It is all in the details and I found this business is not detailed orientated. I did a dumb thing that I knew was a dumb thing and my PC suffered for my transgression. I called them because a different place I was originally going to call didn't answer and I'm really glad this one did. First and foremost this is FEMALE FRIENDLY which seems like a silly thing to highlight, but based on the other places I've been to, you either get creeps or people who talk down to you. They didn't here and were both kind and professional, a rarity in any business. Secondly, they ran me through some things I could do on my own for no charge. Let me reiterate this, an employee of this business, for no charge, offered me a solution that their business specialized in. This is above and beyond and again, for free. This is as honest and considerate as it gets, especially in a field where people tend to take advantage of those who know less than they do. If you're looking for somewhere that actually is honest and affordable (I was given a quote for the issue and it's cheaper than other places -- especially if you take advantage of the coupon they have on Yelp!), this is the place to go in my vast experience dealing with family members and their messy PCs. The issue I have goes further than what I had initially thought, so I'll be taking it in to them and reporting back but in the meantime, in terms of actually dealing with a variety of Downriver PC businesses (for phones, gaming systems, and PCs), this was definitely the least painful experience I've ever had, including using Best Buy's Geek Squad for a family member.
