Foothills Motel in Auburn absolutely lives up to the hype…read more I've been wanting to stay here ever since I discovered their Instagram account about two years ago, and I can confidently say, it did not disappoint in the slightest. The retro aesthetic is incredible. It has that perfect vintage roadside charm, but with a modern, fresh, recently renovated feel that is very well done. The rooms are big, warm, clean, and super comfortable. I loved everything about the design, from the spacious layout to the stylish finishes. The bathroom and shower are huge, the bed is incredibly comfy, and the large TV and private patio really made it feel like a boutique stay rather than a typical motel. The staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, and the location is excellent. You're within walking distance of great food and drinks, including The Lounge at Foothill Bowl, which was such a fun spot. The 10 percent discount I got there thanks to staying at Foothills Motel was a really nice perk. There are also great nearby options for Japanese, Mexican, and Beach Hut Deli, so you're set for whatever you're craving. One of my favorite parts was the exterior. The property is beautifully designed, and at night it lights up in such a cool, classic way that it's worth taking a walk around just to admire it. If you love retro style, comfort, and friendly local hospitality, Foothills Motel is a must stay in Auburn. I'll absolutely be back.

We decided to go rafting…read morein the area on a whim for my husband's birthday and stumbled upon this motel online a bit last minute- while we only spent 2 nights, it was a truly memorable experience. - Price/Value: The prices were extremely reasonable, especially for all that you get- no hidden resort fees even though there's a pool, fluffy pool towels you can pick up from the lobby, etc. There's ample parking within the hotel (only once was the spot right in front of our room not available, and even then there were plenty of nearby spaces). They even have Tesla chargers if needed. - Rooms: This was one of the instances where the pictures of the room were just as / if not nicer in person. Our room (a deluxe king) felt incredibly spacious, had a nice patio, and a beautiful bathroom (with great lighting and 10/10 shower pressure). The attention to detail was fantastic- retro-style appliances including an ice bucket, picnic bucket for the pool, mugs, glassware, keurig, a good sized fridge / freezer (much larger than a mini fridge and substantial freezer space was a huge perk given we were able to pick up and store groceries). Additionally, the rooms were fairly quiet given the location of the motel- I've stayed in much pricier/fancier spots that are much noisier with thinner walls. - Location: I don't think I realized just how close to the highway the motel was when we booked it- but even so, the motel felt cozy, safe, and tucked away despite its proximity. The area was close to all of the things we wanted to do/see (rafting, explore the city, dine, etc.), walking distance to quite a few tasty restaurants, along with a few steps from the bowling alley- I believe you also get 10% off at the bowling alley & restaurant. It's also right across the way from Ikeda's (best market for groceries, drinks, and the most amazing meat pies). The charming downtown is only about a 5-6 minute drive. Staff: Glen was simply wonderful. I called to see what time the office closed since we'd be arriving late- past 10 pm- and he assured us he'd be there until 11 and even if we arrived later we could buzz for the evening management who'd get us checked in. Sure enough, Glen was there when we arrived, could not have been nicer / more welcoming, and gave us some great recommendations. He started our trip off on the best foot possible and we were so appreciative. The housekeeping staff we met were also absolutely lovely. Overall, we had a spectacular time at Foothills Motel...so much so that we decided to book it for Labor Day (just 2 weeks later). We can't wait to return on Friday!

The Lounge at Foothill Bowl is an absolute gem in Auburn!…read more I have to admit, I never even stepped foot in the bowling alley itself, I only visited the lounge, and I had such a great time that I didn't feel like I missed out on a thing. The vibe is fantastic. It feels like a true local hangout, warm, lively, and welcoming. The bartenders were incredibly friendly and on top of everything. Even when the place was packed on a Friday night, service was quick and smooth. One of the bartenders even flattered me by calling me "honey," which instantly made it feel like home. That kind of genuine, down to earth hospitality really stands out. The beer was cold and frosty, exactly what you want after a long day, and the pizza was seriously delicious. Add in a TouchTunes jukebox and a full crowd of happy locals, and you can tell this is a well loved, popular spot. I was staying right across the parking lot at the Foothills Motel, and the 10 percent discount I got at the bowling alley was a really nice bonus. If you're in Auburn and want a fun, relaxed place to grab a drink, enjoy some great food, and feel like part of the community, The Lounge at Foothill Bowl is the place to be. I'll definitely be back.

Clean and bright with comfy couch like seats at each lane. The floors were bright and look brand new. It was very refreshing to bowl at an alley that didn't have technical issues, meaning our ball never got stuck and nor did the pins. It wasn't busy at all on the Thursday afternoon when we went and we ended up staying for 3 hours. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and it came pretty quickly and was quite good. On the screens they advertised meal deals and bowling deals that I wouldn't be opposed to going back and trying. Every staff member that we came on contact with was very friendly and helpful. We had a great time here and are looking forward to coming back.

If you haven't been to Maria's Mexican Tacos, you are missing out!!!…read more I always see their food truck around Auburn. Mostly in the Home Depot or Crooked Lane parking lots. Their main location is in Auburn off Bowmen Road. Biggest landmark I can refer to is Foothills Bowling. Today is Wednesday! Perfect day for tacos!! Before I walked in, I checked out their menu on Yelp. Carnitas tacos is what I was here for and the Yelpers have spoken!! It pretty much says I must come here for the best tacos ever. At the register, I ordered with Jennifer a carnitas taco, asada taco, and she suggested the quesa barbacoa taco. I did say only cilantro & onion for toppings. She put the salsa on the side because she told me it was pretty hot and although I had a Starbucks in hand, she asked if I needed a drink or water cup. Which I appreciated, because I am a huge water drinker! She brought me some complimentary chips & salsa, too. That salsa was tasty! I only waited 5 minutes and Jennifer brought me a plate with 3 tacos, consume, and hot salsa. There was lettuce on 2 of the tacos, although I only wanted cilantro & onion, but oh well. I started with that quesa barbacoa, and dipped it in the consume... ***OOOOOH LORD IT WAS SOOOO ***DELICIOUS!!!! That consume was so good, too, that I could've drank the rest of it, lol The carnitas taco was next. Sooooo GOOOOOD! IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I WAS CRAVING! I'm not a big fan of carne asada, but I had to try it. It was delicious too! MARIA'S MEXICAN TACOS WILL NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! Next on my "to try" list here will be the Chile rellenos burrito... and I am drooling just thinking about it. I got to meet Maria. I thanked her for my delicious food. She was very sweet and I let her know she will be seeing more of me here, along with my family. Until next time!!! See you soon!!!!

I had a local company in Roseville install my POE security cameras around 2 years ago. I provided…read morethe cameras, UNVR, and CAT 6 cable. They did a great job because I haven't had any issues in 2 years. However, my sales representative was terrible. He claimed they could run cables in the attic and to my front door. Of course that was not true. When I was actually able to have him respond to my calls and texts, he tried to gaslight me about having to level a doorbell camera. A doorbell camera that comes with a leveler in the box. They also didn't install the security screw for the camera since nobody read the directions. I decided it was best to not use the same business in order to install my Ubiquiti G6 PTZ cameras. Connected Technology sent an electrician out to my house named Noel to provide an estimate. Thank goodness it wasn't a sales representative like some businesses will use. He didn't overestimate the time it would take to run CAT 6 and install the two cameras either. Other estimates I received from low voltage technicians tried to overinflate the number of hours it would take to do the work. Or they'll try to tack on "training hours" for cameras you know more about than the installers. This wasn't the case with Noel. He provided an estimate of $1.2K for around 4-6 hours of work. Which equated to $200 per hour. Noel was also proficient in terminating CAT 6 via standard RJ45 connectors as opposed to using pass through. I told Noel's boss that he had to do my installation. On the day of the installation, Noel and Aiden of Connected Technology completed the job in 5.5 hours. I was very surprised by Noel and Aiden's professionalism and courtesy. They showed up at 8 AM unlike the previous installers who showed up one hour after they were supposed to arrive. Noel and Aiden were very respectful of my lawn and plants. They didn't tear up my drip lines, plants, or trample my lawn. In fact, they stayed off the grass. I appreciate them showing a lot of respect for a lawn that I grow myself. These young men worked with a high level of attention to detail. The CAT 6 was completely hidden along the first level eaves of the house. I love how they actually took the time to remove the previous cable clips that were bundled together. I had other installers tell me that they would just run the extra CAT 6 cables for the cameras and add zip ties. I immediately knew those aren't the right individuals to hire. I consider that as sheer laziness. I paid $200 an hour for a professional installation. Noel and Aiden exceeded my expectations. The CAT 6 cables were run by Noel and Aiden. Noel mounted and installed my G6 PTZ cameras. After plugging the CAT 6 into the cameras, my UNVR immediately recognized the new G6 PTZs for adoption. The only minor issue with the installation was the fact that the manufacturer guidance wasn't followed. The CAT 6 was run down from the eaves and straight into the back of the camera. It should have been run down the eaves, around the mount, and up into the mount via an opening in the bottom. This approach creates an automatic drip loop for the camera. I notified Natalie and Jennifer who work as customer service representatives for Connected Technology of the issue. They immediately had Noel return to remedy the situation. I even got the opportunity to exchange texts with the owner of Connected Technology named Bill. Bill, Natalie, and Jennifer were absolutely phenomenal in handling the issue unlike the previous business I used. I really appreciate their ability to listen and resolve the situation as opposed to gaslighting the customer.
