We stop here to charge on the way up to Tahoe area. We don't need the charge, but we enjoy the staff at this beach hut and the sandwiches are very good. Great Beach Hit Deli conveniently located to Highway and the Motel we were staying at. Chase and his brother were awesome owners. Friendly, helpful and genuinely happy to chit chat with us. It was our first time in this place and the sandwiches did not disappoint! Full of fillings and super fresh. We also placed a catering order online for a local fire department. Was ready the following day on time. Special requests, such as pickles and mayo/mustard on side was noted, and presentation was fab. The firehouse LOVED it, and we know how they love to eat after a long day! Plenty of food and again, fillings were substantial. Fun place, I stopped in on a whim as my friend bought kebab and had some great nachos and beer an hour so before they close. The guys working were chill and since I ate by myself I was happy other customers inside watching baseball were friendly. I don't normally eat sandwiches so to make the nachos more hearty I asked them if they could add meat and they put pulled pork on and it was great. A big portion but i still ate it all. The setup inside was cool, like a small sports or local bar that was still bright and clean inside. It was funny that I only went in at first to be sneaky and use their bathroom while my buddy at next door, but I'm glad I did instead of eating Burger and Cream for the billionth time. read more

Everyone here is always amazing. On my visit yesterday, I ordered the Surf'in Bird. It is the turkey sandwich of all turkey sandwiches, but you have to add alfalfa sprouts! This is a Queens sandwich where the lipstick has to come off because that shịt will just get all over your face if you don't. Ordering is a breeze. Their menu is conveniently on the wall as you walk into their Tiki Hut, with surf boards for tables kinda vibe. If they are busy, be sure to get a drink while you wait! their Alohawk (8%) beerb is delicious! We each got a beer and decided to share a sandwich. At least for me, I know Beach Hut as that HUGE sandwich for your money, and even with their smallest sandwich shared, you are still leaving full! It is packed with so many veggies and tons of meat. 5 stars for their customer service and I haven't even tried the sandwich yet. I placed an order on DoorDash and mistakenly went to the Grass Valley location before realizing it was for their location on Bowman Road. When I arrived to Bowman, there was no order under my name. I checked the DoorDash confirmation and it said my order was cancelled due to "technical issues." Super frustrating, as you can imagine. The team at Bowman were super kind and understanding. They prioritized my order ahead of a large table that had been waiting, threw in an extra bag of chips and a few cookies on the house. They even provided me with a stamp card and an extra stamp. I really wish I would have asked for the name of the gentleman that helped me, but he made me feel seen, heard and took great care of me. Ordered the roast beef au-jus sandwich. The meat was as dry as could be. The soda machine was not working. And to top it all off, the inside of the store needs a deep cleaning. Keep on driving. Try the next store in Colfax. Giving credit for business for reaching after poor review. I did not wait around for a new sandwich. Good that the business cares about customer input. Extremely RUDE staff. I will never ever eat at this beach hut again. Hey management maybe treat your customers with kindness? Hope you go out of business. I'm a regular beach hut customer and stopped here on my way through to grab a bite eat. Not like any Beach Hut I've ever been to. AVOID IT. Actually I've eaten at this beach hut every time I drive through to Reno and I will never eat here again. I was going to eat there which is not lying like you implied. You and your staff were extremely rude implying that I would "steal" from your bathroom which is slander. I'm a hard working American and a good person. Implying that I would steal from your bathroom is laughable. Take a look at my reviews I typically leave 5 stars. You will run your business into the ground the way you have handled this situation. Maybe stop slandering your customers implying that they are going to steal from your bathroom. Honest question, what the F did you think I would take? Toilet paper? Great for families! We stopped by here on our way back from Tahoe. We'd planning to go next door, but it was closed, so we stumbled in here. It looks like a fun bar, which initially didn't seem like the best lunch spot for a family with young kids. We were pleasantly surprised that we could find healthy food (Cabo salad ftw!), Hoppy water, a solid kids menu, and activities for the kids. Plus, bonus popsicles for the kids! First thing you noticed is the bread was not toasted at all. It had a couple of brown stripes on one side only. When you open the sandwich, the lettuce was wilted, and the tomato was absolute mush, like it had been old and laying around for hours. The worst thing, though, were the avocados. 2/3 of the avocados were dark,gray or black. Obviously not a good avocado, but yet they managed to cut it up and serve it. And the last thing that was disappointing, was the fact that the bacon was in one wad in the center of the sandwich and not laid out on the sandwich. Just a wad that had to be disassembled and spread out. It looks and feels and sounds to me that that kitchen needs some discipline. Don't use old food! If the client asked for mayo, put it on the damn sandwich like they requested. Everything points to that cook being in one heck of a hurry as it was obvious everything was done down and dirty with little to no concern or care for presentation or freshness. I called this evening to let the manager know and I will call the general manager tomorrow. I believe they said his name was Joe? This is my second time at Maguire's as a local and I'm absolutely not impressed. There's a sign up when you walk in that says please wait to be seated. There are a couple of benches there so I sat down and waited yet I could not get the attention of anybody. It wasn't that busy. A few people walked in and managed to get seated. I talked to a couple of the waitresses asking if I could check on my to go order and was met with I'll get back to you. Eventually, I cornered one of the gals and there was my to go order sitting in a bag next to their Station. Something needs to be done about promptness also and managing and monitoring that entry station. I sure hope they can pick up their service and pick up their quality of food. Mike Vogt

The entrees on the menu sounded delicious, but we came for the tacos today. I went with one pork and one fish taco. The pork was definitely my favorite but both were good. These are what I would describe as small soft street tacos with enough meat to easily fill a larger tortilla. Sides like sour cream, guacamole, and shredded cheese are 50-cents for each portion cup. There's enough in each side cup to cover 2-3 tacos. Service was outstanding throughout our visit!

I had an excellent experience. The staff at the hut make the difference. They're fun very familiar sense of including you into the local town of Auburn only enhances any beer on tap or hot grilled sandwich you , might be scoffing down on a break or after work. I, surprised these guys don't have a virtual happy hour online with how cool they make this place. Of course the fresh air hay bales and other friendly customers can't hurt anyone's visit to front deck umbrella seating . Covid is not an issue here. Go feel safe. Eat here. Sometimes big sandwiches are free if you're truely in need and starved. I was. And I was still fed ... PS I did repay 2 days later after a paycheck but was refused at the til. I love being from a small town. Bowman road, the foothills .., and the newly renovated motel area there honestly make this a destination worth pulling in for the night or week over. Cu at the hut... I am not sure what's going on with the beach huts in Auburn, but both are in pretty bad shape. I started coming to this location because of the indecent girls at the other one, yet when I visit this one, I see a child working. I have heard about this around town but never believed it because of how outrageous it sounds. Now, let's talk about the food. It was completely wrong; it felt like everything I asked for went in one ear and out the other. I requested my wife's food to be wrapped in gluten-free bread due to her allergies, but it was served on a white roll instead. She wanted to call the store and complain, but I'm not even sure if there is anyone qualified enough there to answer the phone. I guess I'll be making the drive to Colfax from now on. read more

Holy moly! Had the high tide along with a beer suggested by one of the owners and everything was delicious! If I could give 5 more stars I would! Great Beach Hut, first time in and Steve that worked there was a great guy to have a conversation with over a frosty cold beer. Food was excellent as well. Highly recommend this hut for a place to escape the house and watch the many tvs and be around good people. 5 stars isn't enough! read more

I ordered the Californian which is all veggie and I asked for no mayo on a roll w/ pepper jack. It was under ten dollars and came out within minutes! Presentation was great and looked very fresh and in-season. Tasted delicious! I will be back!! read more

But their customers can't write off those few extra dollars that they have to pay the restaurant in order to use their credit card. I will never step foot in their restaurant again. Colfax deserves better!

If you have some extra time to kill, with friends etc., this is a must try. However, if you are on ANY sort of time restriction, I would not recommend stopping here. My son (who isn't celiac) ate the other half of my sandwich the next day and was fine. Never again will I trust them. I was sick for several days and took over a week to get my energy back. Do better! Being celiac is a serious autoimmune health condition. It can lead to serious health issues if we eat gluten!
