I ended up learning how to remove my rear wheel and install a new belt. However I had trouble reattaching the cable onto the internal gear. When Kevin started Terrapin Bicycles, he helped me a great deal with my Priority Current and getting a new motor for it. Years later, I remember his generosity. I called up the shop and nearing closing time, Brie, the bike mechanic said to come in and he'll help out. In 15 minutes, he'll got my bike in top shape. It's so important to find "your guy". When I brought it back, they just looked at the box and said over and over that it was the right size. I agreed that it was the right size, but pointed out, repeatedly, that the actual tube in the box was defective. They didn't even look at it. Finally, they told me that they would prove it to me by watching me install the defective tube myself, with a single tire lever they handed to me, while they stood around and watched. After I started to install the tube, which would not fit -- because it was defective -- they told me I was doing it wrong (but did not tell me what they thought I was doing wrong). I left the store. I went to Tarrapin -- a competitor nearby. They sold me an inner tube for $2 less. I installed it myself (at home -- I don't really need an audience for that) in about 2 minutes. I just went on a wonderful ride. No problems. There's more. Instead of writing a negative review, I emailed the owner in hopes of an apology and maybe an explanation. That did not happen. A co-owner emailed back and said that he had been one of the people at the shop and they were "only trying to help." The kicker from him: "to be very clear: neither my staff nor I called you names, insulted you, or attacked you in any way." Nobody accused this guy of committing any crimes, but apparently his view is that customer service is successful so long neither he nor his staff attacks a customer. These guys are just obnoxious jerks. There's no need to give them your money.

We aren't young and described our needs and use cases, and even though the shop had a bewildering array (100+) different bikes, he immediately directed us to 3 different options which he believed suited our needs. He helped us 'test drive' all three, in their safe parking lot, and we were able to make a quick decision. It was a breath of fresh air! He helped us understand the features and operation of the bike, and patiently answered ALL our questions quickly and direcly... Our bikes will arrive in a few days and we have complete confidence in our decision. At first, it seemed like a bit of self-promotion, but after visiting and making the purchase, it all makes sense. These bikes are complex beasts. The idea of two 100lb flat-packed cardboard boxes showing up at our house from some gigantic on-line seller, and spending, likely many hours, assembling them, was more than a little daunting. We consider ourselves reasonably technically and mechanically competent, but having them assembled and tested by professionals before taking them on the road definitely provides a lot of peace of mind... Just the safety considerations alone are worth the price of admission... The additional benefit is they also provide a lot of other services for maintaining and servicing the bikes, which is also a BIG DEAL. I cannot imagine the stress, endless frustrating telephone conversations, and the hassle of trying to fix, or worst case, disassemble and return one of these things to some faceless organization! Bottom line is our bikes will arrive in a few days, and we are very relaxed about our decision. They will assemble and test our bikes and JAIME will give us a call when they are ready for pickup. They will load them onto our bike rack, ready for the nearest trail!! Very impressed with JAIME MUNOZ, and the business model in general. I highly recommend them. If you are in the market for an e-bike, walk in and ask for JAIME, it will make your life a lot easier.

First of all when they were giving me the initial evaluation and quote I was really getting salesman vibes. He was showing all these things about the bike to convince me that it needed tons of repairs and focusing on things that I didn't know much about which is a technique that I've seen 1 million times when people are trying to sell me something I don't necessarily need. I I opted for only part of what he recommended because it was prohibitively expensive. I got a message of a couple days later saying to call him which I did not. The next day I got a message saying that the bike was ready, and when I picked it up, he had done extra repairs costing another 70 bucks or so. I could have refused to pay, but I was not in the mood. However, there is no chance that I will bring my bike back to that place. I had previously gotten bike repairs at Takoma bikes and they aren't cheap either but they are upfront and don't try to hard sell you repairs.
