I asked several electricians for quotes, and Jerrett showed up exactly when he said he would. He provided a quick and easy quote for our panel upgrade as well as the EV charger install, and we agreed to it. On the actual work day, Jorge and Yonathan were at our house bright and early at sunrise to get the job done. They were super friendly and the labor was thoroughly and expertly performed. There were no last-minute additions or gotchas - everything went exactly as discussed. They stayed till sunset to ensure all installations functioned, but I was in awe that the job was finished in 1 day. All other contractors quoted me 2-3 days! In addition, there was very minimal stucco damage and they left all work spaces squeaky clean. When it came time for the city inspection, Jorge arrived before the inspector to explain the work to him. Since everything was done expertly, the inspector didn't stay long before giving a thumbs-up. He even took the time to greet my children and was very warm and friendly with them. Daniel was able to determine that a faulty line/wire was causing the power issues in the bedrooms. After checking the attic, he also discovered some problematic wiring and conditions involving the subpanel. He recommended running new wiring and replacing a damaged breaker in the attic panel, which would not only fix the problem but provide a much safer setup and help prevent potential hazards like an electrical fire. The price was fair, and the work took about two hours, just as he estimated. He worked diligently the entire time without taking a break. I honestly felt bad for him being up in our attic because it had to be easily 120° up there! I offered him water throughout the job, which he graciously accepted. Before leaving, Daniel also gave me an estimate to upgrade our existing breaker box. That price seemed very reasonable as well, especially compared to estimates I've received from other companies in the past. Overall, great experience. Being…read morea customer not used to dealing with more than one big project with my mom's home (Reroof in 2022 was the first), I am not well-versed in things like most out there when it comes to hiring contractors. We needed a service panel upgrade from 100 Amp to 200 Amp. Gene, the owner of Genius Electric & Cabling from DAY ONE has been there for myself and my family for my mom's project. The guy is just fantastic, professional, yet personable and friendly. The very beginning, during my quote requests on here he has been upfront about what to expect where the rest of those whom responded either ignored my request for an "on-site quote" to give a real evaluation and estimate rather than just a canned one. He let me know about needing SCE to come out to approve the panel location (it would be in the same spot as the old one, but is still required), the other hopeful contractor that came out made zero mention of this, nor permits and was pushing me to give him the job for the following Saturday (three days after I started getting quotes). Red flag. Thank God Gene was there. He does not hard sell. He does not sit in judgment of how your house might look. He makes you comfortable, he gives you information and he allows you time to decide if you are comfortable with having his company do the work. We agreed with his quote, not the cheapest and not the most expensive. Believe me, the openness and honesty from Gene and the vibe the guy gave me was more than enough for me to consider him & his company. Gene had Cristian and Troy show up to start the project, working outside and under the house (Sorry, Troy! lol) Both guys impressed me with their friendliness and work ethic. They stayed until that panel was in and the lights were back on for us. Likely hungry and possibly getting wife aggro (Thanks guys). Rains of course slowed some things down, that happens, soon as the timing window opened for them to complete the job, Cristian (if I am misspelling your name, blame Gene it's his spelling he gave me before you guys came out lol) and Jordan showed up to complete the work yesterday and came by today to wait for the inspector. Genius came through and got it done. We just had our inspection with the city and I heard the inspector say "perfect!" Awesome! Now I can finally take a nap & relax lol. After many quotes we decided to go with Ray. I would have to say he was in the middle as far as pricing but I'm a firm believer in you get what you pay for. The experience was great from beginning to end. He text us with his ETA the morning of and arrived promptly on time. We needed to install 3 chandeliers one being a 220V. We did run into a few roadblocks along the way but nothing that they couldn't fix. For me the most important thing was not creating hole on the walls or doing anything I needed retouching. We got away with both of those items, so for us it was perfect. Another roadblock we had was that the chandelier we purchase came with the wrong lightbulbs. Instead of charging us for a second trip he was willing to leave his extended ladder with us so that we could use it to install the bulbs when they finally arrived. To me that was great service! If it saves us money we are more than happy. Cleanliness is another star that I would say they deserve. We are a bit of clean freaks here in our house and they were more than willing to wear booties in the house and ensure that everything was covered before working on the lights. I also wanted to mention that his colleague was more than helpful and knowledgeable! I think they are both a great team together! In the end our house hasn't burned down (let's cross our fingers it never does) and we now have beautiful lighting in our home.
