Dropped in to check this place out on a Saturday afternoon in search of a refurbished reel mower and I was greeted by an enthusiastic and knowledgeable employee (KC). This gentleman is one of the only people I've met to show more enthusiasm form mowers and lawn care than myself. He took the extra time and effort to show me their shop and capabilities for maintaining a reel mower and how it is done. For those unaware, this service is a dying skill amongst the local Southern California mower shops, very few have the equipment, knowledge and experience to do this properly. Took our relatively new lawnmower in for warranty repair and happened to be helped by/meet the owner who is super nice, friendly, and professional. Turned out that our mower could not be repaired so he gave us a brand new (identical) replacement instead. It's obvious that he spent a fair amount of time and labor on this, but ended up only being paid a very tiny sum by the manufacturer for his effort. Dropped off my old school lawnmower that had been sitting in the yard for 5+years. Person who helped me let me know that it'll take 7-10days to get a diagnostic workup done and I paid $10 to get that started. That $10 fee then goes toward the balance at the end if you move forward with the repair. I called at the 10 day mark and was originally quoted $60-80 for the repair and labor so I told them to go ahead. I was told the repair would be ready in 3-4 days. When I called on day 5, there was a new part that had to be ordered so my total cost was $160.. thankfully they were accommodating about all the delays and changed estimate, and they discounted $30 and with the initial $10, my final was $120. They showed me the part that had to be replaced and it was definitely something that could not be repaired. I'm really happy with the lawnmower and it works well. They were really nice to let me come in during their closed hours to pick it up as soon as it was ready and gave me a quick tutorial on how to use it. You've got to be proactive and call them. They're really quick about answering the phone, I never had to wait long. Everything worked out for me in the end but my one gripe would be that they installed the new part and did all the labor on it before getting the ok from me on the changed estimate. I had planned on going through with the repair if it was around $100 or less. Anything more I was going to scrap it and buy a new one. But it was still cheaper than buying a brand new lawnmower and it works like new now. In the future, I can improve on my communication skills. A great plus is that they're taking COVID precautions. Mask to enter and they've taped off a space around the counter so customers don't get too close. Appreciated their effort. And there's the cutest and friendliest shop dog. read more

I had two Ryobi blowers which needed to be repaired. Evans was listed as a Ryobi official repair center. I dropped off my blowers in April 5th 2019. Four months past and no communication. I called them and was told someone would call me back. No one did. I followed up with them and turns out they were never sent to Ryobi. They finally sent them in and one was not under warranty and another needed a copy of receipt. I only found out because I called them again a month or so later. I just decided to pick them up. It was my first time there, but would not recommend them due to lack of communication and assuming organization. read more

Not happy about them taking 5 months to get the carb kit for my saw. Then telling me it will be 200 dollars more than the quote 5 months earlier. I hope I wasn't talking to the owner, this guy was very unprofessional about justifying what he was charging and why. The saw RAN when I dropped it off for a belt and a pulley. I'm then told it needs a carb rebuild. Ok I'll go for that, then it will run better but 5 months to get the kit then says it'll be 200 more THEN tells me the cylinder is scarred. Best experience I've had in a long time! Even though they were going to be closing for the holidays soon they agreed to repair my lawnmower before they left. I dropped it off on Wednesday at noon and got a call from them by 3 o'clock saying that it was ready to be picked up. They charged me what I feel was a very reasonable $50, and even sharpened the blades. My lawn more is running great and I would highly recommend them. I purchased a used Ryobi battery powered lawn mower with a 90 day guarantee from Cameron at Evans on March 9, 2022 and immediately had problems with the mower battery holding a charge long enough to mow my front yard, which required me to charge it before I could finish the front and back yards. When I called Cameron, he promised to procure a new battery from the "Ryobi Factory". Several months and numerous phone calls later, he claimed the "factory" had denied his claim for a new battery. When I asked him to just replace it from his own inventory, he then claimed that I would have to bring the mower to his shop for a diagnostic inspection. Cameron had previously owned the mower himself and then sold it because it was too much mower for his yard. You would expect him to know if it was anything but a battery replacement to fix the problem!! Anyway, frustrated with his delay, delay and more delay tactics to get out of honoring his guarantee, I just ordered a new battery from Amazon, and low and behold, the mower now works perfectly. Evans has lost any of my future business and that of my friends and neighbors who will soon be trading their old gas mowers for battery mowers due to the new state law. I had a murray sit down lawn mower changed a brand new ignition switch. They changed the switch but it did not worked. I went to another lawn mower shop and i was informed it was the wrong switch and they cut off some of the wires. They did a horrible job and the staff was not pleasant and helpful at all.
