Great place to take any of your equipment in for either tuneup or repair. They also have a great array of new and used lawn equipment. You could purchase at the shop. The young woman and the gentleman that run the front desk tell it to you straight and are very honest and forthcoming. I brought in my power washer my weed whacker my lawnmower and got them working like new for a lot less than if I had to purchase them over again. I brought in my neighbors Weedwhacker and they called saying the repair would not be worth the value of the weed whacker and suggested I buy a new one which I appreciate it. I had heard good things about the shop and wanted to give them my business. Staff was very friendly. Freddie helped matched my needs in the best way. I was very surprised how low the fee was to diagnose the problem, which is rolled into the cost to fix. It was repaired quickly. I took it out for a spin this morning and it is running great! I would give them negative star is possible. I took my pressure washer there and they did a new water pump install. Never worked from day one when I went back to tell them it's not working they never wanted to take blame or at least check it. They charged me an additional $70 just To check it out and tell me it's a bad pump install which they did. I recently bought an expensive Shindaiwa Hedge Trimmer from a local dealer in Corona. After just a few uses the choke lever broke making the Hedge Trimmer inoperable without an operable choke. The local dealer ordered another part and said it would take 5 weeks before arriving. I offered to pay extra if could expedite the order. At the end of 5 weeks the local shop said it would take another 5 weeks! Being Korean I had a great deal of difficulty understanding why the delay. He became very belligerent, angry, and loud. I asked for my trimmer back and fortunately was referred to Chino Mower and Engine Service on 13546-A Central AVE., Chino CA. 909 627.2384. Fortunately the owner Freddie Baca was in the store. He quickly removed the broken part and told me he could use an identical part from another machine!!! He had it repaired in 10 minutes and it has been in heavy use since. I can't express how thankful I was for his attentiveness and knowledge. It's a longer drive for me but I'll never go anywhere else for buying and servicing my lawn equipment. read more

A local ma and pa shop that specializes in parts for lawn mowers and other lawn care tools. I came here because my rear wheel bolt sheered off my lawn mower. Instead of spending a lot of money on a new lawn mower, I went to Chino Mower and Engine Service to see if they had my part. I walked inside with my part and a older woman assisted me with my question and search. Within a minute she found my part and recommended I by two because if one broke the second might sheer off soon. I said okay because the part was only 2 dollars. That's what I call a great deal instead of buying a new lawn mower. read more

As for the 1 star reviews, I can't agree with those bad experiences from this business. I've bee there a few times and it's always been good! I took my edger in for a service. Was told upfront that it would take a wile, it was the beginning of spring and they had a lot of equipment in for service. I got it back in a week and it was all good. New blade, oil changed, new belt, even washed it. Was very happy with it! Yesterday I went in for a new Chainsaw Blade... The ladies behind the counter were very friendly. Of course the chain I needed was an odd one that they would have to order. I opted to change my setup, Chain, Bar, & Sprocket. The girl worked up a few priced depending on which bar length I went with. She also took the sprocket out of a different kit to get me rolling. I will keep on Shopping here. read more

Freddie set me up big time with a wireless Stihl Hedger and a Mower that uses the same battery. What a deal I got! The whole staff is very nice and accommodating. Since I had already given my old mower to them a couple of months ago, Freddie gave me another, that was on it's last legs, so that I could turn it in for the South Coast AQMD Rebate. He even printed out the rebate form and guided me where to take it! Just amazing customer service! I am so anxious for the Stihl Blower/Vac to come to market. When it does, I will go back to Chino Mower to purchase it! By the way, that Stihl Hedger slices through our stubborn Hedges with ease, a lot easier than my old corded Black & Decker. The new mower carries a lot of clippings before needing to be emptied. No more breathing exhaust fumes, and both batteries hold plenty of charge. I have been using Chino Mower a lot lately and for a few good reasons: 1.) they more often than not have the parts I need to get my equipment back up and running. 2.) they don't oversell, they advised me what needs to be fixed not what they would LIKE to sell me and the pricing is fair. 3.) knowledgable. Brought them a large Briggs 31 hp twin and they were able to fix it quick where we expected we would have to actually replace the engine which would have been almost 3 thousand dollars. 4.) I called to see about buying a 35 HP vanguard engine to replace the one on my current stump grinder. When I called it a young lady answered the phone and seem to be irritated that I am bugging her at work 15 minutes before closing. I thought engine I wanted online and I knew all the specs but she refused to check and told me that they're closing soon and I should email her the information I have so she can look at it when she has time. Over the past 10 years, I have bought all my lawn equipment here. Pricing is good, assortment is impressive and the folks are very helpful and friendly. In the past, I had purchased equipment from big box stores and found the stuff just didn't work well. The folks here have helped me buy equipment that is right for my homeowner needs without trying to up sell me. Everything needs parts and service from time to time, and my needs have been met quickly and with a reasonable cost. Even special ordering of parts is straightforward, since they have all my model numbers in their computer. Bottom line, I'll gladly spend a bit more for quality equipment that gets the job done, at a dealer that knows what I need and can keep it running right for years. Compared to the cost of a hired gardener, it's a no-brained for me. read more

Took a chainsaw in that needed a switch replaced. I was quoted a ridiculous $140. I politely declined and said I would pick up my item up shortly. When I arrived I was handed a box with pieces of what used to be my chainsaw. Mind you it just needed a switch, not a full on diagnosis. She pointed out that it stated this on receipt, but she had never pointed it out when I dropped it off. Floyd your full of shit. The trimmer did not run when it left or you would have tested it for me. I took it to another shop n they had to clean the fuel filter and rebuild the carburetor because when your guy took it apart he got dirt inside which clogged the engine. The unit has always worked at top performance for me until it went to your shop. Plus this other place had it ready in 2 hours n cleaned the entire machine like it just came of the shelf. I've been relying on Chino Mower for about 9 years for home and business equipment. In that time, I have purchased a used riding mower, two backpack blowers, a lawn mower, a chain saw, and about a million chain-saw chains and gallons and gallons of chainsaw oil. Reasons for the chains and oil? We've landscaped and terraced our large property with nearly 1,000 railroad ties that eat up chains. Chino Mower has always had what I needed and all employees have been both knowledgeable and polite. They usually have a good suggestion if I have a concern, and the various repairs we've needed have been handled promptly and competently, first time. Because they carry an extensive selection of parts, they can often repair a tool more quickly than other shops who have to wait for parts (or go buy them from Chino Mower.) Chino Mower does not carry big-box homeowner brands or models and they don't service all of them, either. They cater primarily to professional landscapers, arborists, municipalities, and other heavy-duty users. Their new equipment is priced fairly for quality tools and all my purchases have been properly set up and ready to work... and Chino Mower staff have been great about including suggestions for use and best products, too. Regarding the one-star reviews on here, seems like a guy had a problem then recruited his buddies to write nasty reviews as well. If you see a lot of strong reviews on Yelp! accompanied by a lot of negative ones, that may indicate a personality problem... with someone... Chino Mower has been in business for many, many years and you only have to observe their parking lot for a few minutes any day they're open to see landscaper after landscaper drive up with repairs or to make purchases. To see pro after pro roll into the shop indicates that the shop is a trusted resource for people that make their living with their landscaping tools.... they likely know who to trust with their livelihood. Chino Mower also gives to the community by hosting fun benefit car shows. Stop by and meet them and make your own judgement based on the treatment you receive. Competent repair shops like Chino Mower are becoming a rarity in our throwaway society. I'm always happy to do business with locals who are long-time fixtures in the community and who, plain and simple, solve my problems. Chino Mower does! read more

I'm posting this review because I feel that this establishment treats their customers as if they don't need there business. I took my equipment in for a simple fix a pull cord they charge $26 bucks to even look at it, I left my equipment there at i was told I would be called back that same day for an estimate. I never received a call back for 2 days. When they called me back with an estimate I was given this outrages quote of a $100.00 over what the repairs were to be stating I needed new carburetor; hoses;tuneup; and coil. I honestly feel that these people think that people fell off the turnip truck and their dealing with ignorant people. This staff or owner needs to reevaluate it's purpose for being in business. Let's say honesty is the best policy and I don't feel that this is going on here at this establishment. I can purchase a brand new mower at homedepot or sears. REDICULOUS!!!! read more
