Unbelievable Service to a stay at home Mom!!! Where do I begin!! The moment I called this place I knew it was different. The person on the phone actually asked me "how can I make you me smile today" I think her name was Jen and she was so friendly throughout our conversation. After she took all my information down she explained to me how this company was different than other electrical contractors. Jen told me that the technician would respect our time by arriving at the window we scheduled, would respect our house by the technician warring shoe cover and using drop cloths, and also explained there warranties. She also described the technician that would come to my house was background checked and screened which is extremely important to my husband since I'm a stay at home mom with two kids. I am extremely anal about companies entering my home. I guess that is the mamma bare in me because I am known to turn away the cable guy if I do not feel comfortable with him. Guillermo was a breath of fresh air. He called me 30 minutes before he arrived which is rare. I gave him my list of all my electrical issues, which in my mind where minor. My issues where kitchen lights dimming all of a sudden, dryer would just stop working in the middle of a cycle, and my bedroom would just completely shut off if I used my portable heater. I knew this technician was different because he asked me so many questions about all our issues of when my dryer would shut off, when my lights would act up, and also which setting of the heater I would set when my bedroom would shut off. Guillermo found the problem right away. He said I had an outdated panel that I think he called split bolt or split bus. He said that we had a bad breaker that controlled all of our lights and plugs throughout our house where bad. He did some sort of heat camera inspection on our panel and sure enough it was red hot. He gave us a few options to either change out the breaker or change out the panel. This was an unforeseen expense so my husband and I decided to do the cheapest thing which was change out the breaker. I know that the panel will be something that we will need to do so on and after this experience I know exactly who to call. Thanks for all your help Electrical Connections. At 2am my house started acting like it had a poltergeist. Turning on a light caused the fridge to stop working. Half my house had power but the other half didn't. Some lights flickered and some lights dimmed. I called the electric company and they said it was something wrong with my house and I needed to find an electrician. In a panic after zero sleep I called Electrical Connections at 7am. Immediately I was calmed and told that I made the right call and that they specialize in residential electrical safety. I was told that they were going to switch some jobs around so that they could come over at 8am. Once they arrive two really amazing guys named Tim and Josh listened to my story and started debugging the issue. Within an hour they identified the problem and explained to my different solutions. One of the best things about this company is that they have fixed price lists, so you know exactly what the work will cost. I got a new electrical panel and exterior meter box to solve my issue. The existing 30-year-old equipment was corroded, water damaged, dirty and was faulty. Once they started working they explained to me how the system worked and overall had a great demeanor. I could tell they take pride in their work, and they even worked through a serious thunderstorm. The work is "top shelf" and I had HVAC and power that night. Brian Simpson averted a tragedy and may have saved my Mother's life. He was at Mom's house in Md. doing a minor installation (very affordable, pleasant, professional and answered all my questions). I am in Florida and scheduled and paid for the service. Towards the end of the appointment, Mom didn't feel well. She actually was in the midst of a TIA (mini-stroke). The symptoms are hard to assess and were mild. Mom has Life Alert. But, is always hesitant to use it (at least in a timely manner). He assisted and comforted her, got me on the phone and suggested I get her medical attention. He also immediately contacted Life Alert on another phone, described her symptoms, and remained on the phone with both Life Alert and me until the paramedics arrived. Due to his timely and accurate assessment, she got to the hospital during the event. This resulted in a full recovery and a proper diagnosis. (she was hospitalized briefly last month, but due to a delay was misdiagnosed). My mother and I were already impressed with the service and professionalism of every employee. In fact, my mother had just requested to sign a service contract if Brian would be the electrician. This event really sealed the deal. I had the pleasure of meeting with Mr. Castillo, the owner, of Electrical Connections (EC) a couple of weeks ago. We lost power to half our house and called Pepco to get some help. They told us that we needed to call an electrician because there smart meter showed our house be fine so it was our responsibility. We called several electricians at 8pm and not a single company returned our calls. The only company that picked up the phone was Electrical Connections!! Tim arrived at our house around 9:30 pm and put us at ease immediately explaining what he was going to do. He found the problem immediately and showed us it truly was a Pepco problem. Tim explained that our house was only getting 120 volts and not 240 volt. He waited around till we got Pepco back on the phone so he could technically explain our situation, which he did not have to do. Since it was so late Tim arrived the next day to do an electrical safety inspection. He also discovered other minor issues in our house which he took care of on the spot. First, Jennifer, the phone receptionist, was beyond polite, clear, responsive and professional. She scheduled an appointment for me right away. Shortly after that, I received a confirmation call from Tim that he would be out to my house and gave me a clear time frame to expect him. Tim Davis is like having a country doctor for your electrical needs. He came over late in the afternoon over a weekend when we lost power in the kitchen, and fixed our problem in five minutes. Then told us we needed to increase the amps on our 1956 4-bedroom house from 100 (standard for a modern 1-bedroom apartment) to 200. We felt like he wasn't selling us on something we didn't need, or pressuring us. We signed up for the upgrade, but before he could come back to do the work, the Snowzilla storm blew in. I called Tim in a panic about how to use our generator, and he pulled over to the side of the road, asked me to text him pictures, and then walked me through how to start everything to avoid a fire. When he did come back to upgrade the house, he and his new colleague Josh did a great job, finishing in one day. They were both very patient with our questions and our small son's desire to "help." I feel like the house is much safer, and I trust his judgment on what we need to do, or not. Highly recommend Tim, Josh, and Electrical Connections. I had Guillermo out to fix a simple but tricky problem that I can't figure out myself as a electrical engineer. First, he will take a quick look at the problem and explain very well their straight-forward pricing scale to you so you will know what to expect on the cost. What I am impressive with this guy is the attention to detail. From the moment he lay down the little carpet to the way he work and finally the clean up. He treats it as like his own house. He is a very nice, talkative and knowledgeable guy. He will provide professional suggestions on the existing or potential problem he see without giving much pressure for selling. Also, by talking to him I understand this is a family small business that started by his father. From the attitude and mind set i see on him, they are definitely in for a long term business model by providing quality work and service. I cannot say enough about the service we have received from Guillermo! Guillermo is incredibly friendly and personable, and his work is always done thoroughly and with extreme care. Not only were we extremely happy with the work Electrical Connections in our home this spring before we moved in (installing new outlets, bundling hanging wires, installing new electrical panel, installing smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, installing lights in closets/hallway, etc.) , we were blown away by our most recent service when the outlet the TV was connected to experienced a massive surge that ultimately broke the TV. We hired Electrical Connections LLC to do an extensive electrical work in a house we purchased. We had to do a 150amp heavy up, to install ceiling fans and exhaust fans, to splice and repair the aluminum wire throughout the house, and to install smoke detectors and an attic fan. Guillermo promised to complete the job before we would enter our place and his did keep his word. He and his team worked hard and did an excellent job. They were punctual, polite, clean, and super professional. Guillermo was very nice and patiently answered all our questions. He also explained thoroughly everything they were doing. I would like to note that since we have moved to our house we had to deal with a lot of different contractors and tradesmen, and Electrical Connections' professionalism and excellent customer service are uncommon in this business. My sister was using Electrical Connections on a job at her home and I was present while the electrician (Guillermo Castillo) was performing the work. I was impressed by his knowledge of his craft, his summation of the home's electrical problems, and how he simplified the necessary things to correct the problems. I therefore used him to put electricity in a new build. I gave him the lay out of the rooms, and where the appliances would be and he ran the lines, the plugs, and fixtures accordingly as well as offered some suggestions I never thought of. His work passed the government inspection the first go round ! I watched him work and it was as if he was a child playing with a toy, totally engaged, and totally enjoying himself. Elec Connections originally came out for a faulty switch and we ended up having them do their safety inspection on our entire electrical system. This is the first residential company that I have even heard of that has an IR camera that measures temperature of electrical components. We are glad they did the inspection because they came across a lot issues the previous owners did that was not safe. The issues they found could have easily caused a fire. We ended up replacing our electrical panel and had them properly grounding our entire electrical system. I am sure glad they offered the inspection service because you never know what safety issues you may have. There techs were very knowledgeable and polite. Electrical Connections did all the lighting at my auto repair shop. They replaced all the lobby and waiting room lights and ballasts with a newer, more energy efficient setup. Also they replaced all the ballasts and lights in the actual shop portion as well. This was the more difficult of the tasks. Every other company that had come out to give me an estimate would either get intimidated by the 20+ foot ceiling in the shop. The other companies would either flat out say they could not do it or try to charge me for rental of equipment that they didn't have to complete the job properly. Not only did they complete the job properly and at a fair price, THEY DID IT FAST!! I don't easily trust people. I'm based in CT. My electrical sytem broke down in the middle of winter. I called the company and they sent TIM DAVIS to check on my system. To Make matters worse, I needed a new panel. The company's system is very telling and straight forward. Never had a doubt about their explanation of having a new panel. I left the key of my house to TIM to do the job as I have to go back to CT. Never been more satisfied with their service, honesty and quality of the job he did. Gabriel provided great customer service. He was on time, courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. He replaced a dimmer switch for me and also took time to replace an outdoor outlet cover for me.
