Rudy came to my residence for estimate to install a Tesla EV Wall Charger and I was so impressed by his friendly, caring nature and professionalism. Not only did he quote me a competitive price but he also ran by me suggestions on how I could save some money. He also extended the location of the connector from the original location in his estimate to the ideal location at no extra cost. My breaker panel is over 30 years old and so the needed breaker switch that would fit into my panel is not readily available. Thanks to his resourcefulness, he was able to find the rare switch. He also told me to monitor the breaker panel closely so that once it shows some weakness considering it's age, it should be replaced for our safety. He completed an impressive clean job within 3 hours. Rudy is a highly professional electrician that he wouldn't accept my tip for the job well done. Called Electech due to a breaker that wouldn't reset on my back house. Rudy quickly figured out the problem, an outside "weather proof" plug that had corroded. While here I asked for a quote to upgrade my main breaker box to 200 amp. He noticed that we had a FPE main breaker box and suggested we Google it. I did and learned that these have a Stab-Lok circuit breakers, which run a significant risk of breaker malfunction and fire. Since I had planned to upgrade my breaker box from a 100 amp to a 200 amp circuit anyway, I had Electech do this work. Electech showed up on time, completed the work quickly, and even did a couple of other electrical tasks all for the originally quoted price. I went searching for a local licensed electrician for the first time last Friday, the 23rd. I read the reviews and despite one negative, decided to give Electech a go because they're local and most of the reviews were very positive. The one negative was from Angela B., who stated she called them twice and they hung up on her. Electech responded and said that they were having problems with their telephones and computers, so I chose to email them because a hangup would have turned me off. I clicked on electechonline.com, and shot them an email summarizing in rough detail what I needed done, and requested a text or return email to set up an appointment. I even suggested 2 days for an appointment, with the hours at THEIR convenience. I got no response on Sat or Sun, and assumed that they were closed, so I waited patiently on Mon, Tuesday, and it's now Wednesday, 6:42PM with no response. That's too bad. First impressions carry a lot of weight. Good help is hard to find so when we find them, we hang on to them. Our family handyman has been on board for five years. Our family mechanic has been our go-to guy for cars for THIRTY YEARS. The reason is because my mechanic gives me a good "first impression" every time I go to his shop (Toyopros in Azusa, CA.). Despite the negative from Angela, I gave these guys a very reasonable go and they were a flat-out, inexcusable no-show. That is one hell of a first impression. Angela was right. read more
