Very nice and unique food house in Madrid, with homey basque food. The fix menu is the best option. The service is really nice and familiar.

5 Stars for a wonderful vermouth tasting!…read more While planning a family trip to Spain I made sure to look for tasting experiences in each city. In Madrid, I found a guided Vermouth tasting (through Airbnb Experiences) at Madrid & Darracot. It's priced at 20 Euro per person (Fridays and Saturdays) and also available for booking directly through their website. We initially had a tough time finding the shop as it had recently moved locations just up the street, but once we did we had a great time! Our guide was Irish (if I recall) and Spanish, so he was able to do the tasting in English, but also answer questions from my parents in Spanish. He took us through four very distinct Vermouths and helped us get an understanding of the importance of this drink in the country. It was informative, fun, and we got recommendations for the rest of our stay. We of course grabbed a couple of bottles for the evening and we're really impressed by not only their wine and vermouth collection, but also their spirits (including bourbon). Overall, I would highly recommend booking a tasting while in Madrid!

When we left at 12:45 PM, every table was filled with a few patrons waiting to sit/stand. When you get in, have some people grab a seat while one person goes to the front to order. Their tortillas are sold by the piece, which is one sixth of a giant circular frittata. They also sell croquettes in pairs and there's a discount for getting 8. Most patrons got the original, which is egg + potato. We tried the Brie, which was a crowd pleaser. Cheesy and eggy, with bites of cooked potato for texture. Also, got a goat cheese + caramelized onion one that was more goat cheese than onion. Would sub this one out if I come back. Got 4 jamon and 4 carrilerra (cheeks) croquettes. I thought they were medium sized based on the other Madrid croquettes we had. All croquettes we had on this trip were great, and these were certainly on par. I can see why Pez Tortilla is so popular with many locations. It's a hearty meal at a very affordable price.

Their classic tortilla is runny creamy flavorful and delicious. Their croquettas were amazing.. we tried both the ham and mushroom ones and both were amazing. Their vermut was refreshing and tasty. Service is very quick and staff is friendly. It is a local fav spot cos we saw many friends just hanging out enjoying their tortillas beer and having a good time. A fantastic place to try the spanish tortillas. Highly recommend.
