Located just about a mile before Bu-cees in Bastrop, you'll find this right off of Rt 21 near the Ally Medical Emergency stop. Stopping here on my way back from AUS on a Sunday in early September, it was about 830AM, just in time for breakfast. So breakfast tacos were the order with a chorizo & egg plus a sausage & egg. After about 4-5 minutes, my order was finished. Digging in, the flavors are straight up fresh and tasty with the warm tortillas fresh off the grill and the eggs mixed in nicely with the other proteins. The tacos are quite large so two were enough for me. Price-wise, they are very affordable and they take credit cards too. Do not miss this when you're on 21; definitely one of the best-kept secrets in Bastrop and I look forward to returning for more when I venture out to AUS... or coming back from there!

I ordered a quesabirria taco with consome, asada taco, and pastor taco. My sister ordered the breakfast tacos with brisket and chicharron, and my kids had chicken nuggets with fries. Everything was great, flavors are on point. A few things I would suggest, is making the horchata flavor more milky or creamy, I felt mine was a little bit on the watered down side, it was super translucent, I'm more used to the stronger cinnamon and milky flavors or horchata. And secondly, ask the customers if they would like guacamole on their tacos (I love mine loaded, and this would have been a great flavor explosion on all my tacos) Although we were the only customers inside the restaurant at the time at around 3:45pm, they keep the place super clean and it's welcoming, a bunch of seating inside, and it looks like they even have a stage area for live music or dancing. Service was prompt and they checked back on us often, I appreciate that :) There is a claw machine for the kiddos to play, and a candy machine like back in the 90s with runt like looking candy.

I love well done bacon but not a chewy over done slab bacon. The eggs seemed oddly crumbly not like a true scrambled egg. It was on a homemade tortilla thus the stars. Tortillas were fabulous each time. But not the bacon and eggs. I truly loved the original Yoli's and miss her truly but this was not what I was expecting based on Yoli always had fabulous tacos! And she greeted me with a smile. The young kid and the lady working the desk had no emotion. And I wish the opened before 7. Other places in town win them out for breakfast before the work day.

And they offer both options every day/all day, which is great. She'll come back with her sister to enjoy it again. I had two breakfast tacos: one with egg, sausage and cheese and the other with migas. I really loved the migas. While the first taco was unremarkable, the migas was great. It was perfect, in fact. And it really celebrates their home made corn and flour tortillas. The only thing I didn't like was the salsa. It tasted like canned tomatoes and it was a wee bit salty and not very spicy. I really liked the migas, though. It was made with fresh jalapeño and had just the right amount of heat without needing any salsa. So I think this is one of those places that does some things very well... enough to build up a solid base of regulars, even though some of their other offerings were disappointing, like improperly reheated enchiladas. But if you know what to order, you can really enjoy this place. Oddly enough, they have chorizo on the menu, but don't list it among the available proteins on the breakfast taco menu, which I personally find very strange. Chorizo and egg is such an iconic breakfast taco offering. I'll bet they'd do it justice.

The burrito was grilled nicely, and the hot sauce they gave me was more of a chili oil but it was absolutely amazing. It may not look like much but they sure seem to know that they're doing. I'll be back to try their quesabirria tacos.

I came back to my favorite here, the shrimp relleno - a blister, peeled poblano pepper (not battered or fried) filled with shrimp and ranchero sauce and served with white rice and lovely, grilled vegetables (zucchini, yellow squash, mushrooms, etc.). The whole dish works so well together you could mix it all up and it would still be devine. So... we keep coming back.
